The car accident screwed up several of her cognitive abilities and functions, as well as her physical state. Those never went away. Phantom pains came and went, every day. She grew used to the sensation at this point, never minding the sudden aching across her back or around her shoulder. It was normal for Kotone.

As it was common to find it challenging when she attempted to recall previous memories of her childhood, along with the time leading up to her extended hospitalization. "Maybe it was from mom? She used to hum little tunes to try and calm me down when I got scared..." How did Makoto know it though?

"...sometimes I heard a voice whistling to me while I was in the hospital, too. I always chalked it up to me going in and out of dreaming though." She sat up, remaining on the floor and handing Makoto the spare headphone. "...do you think it was him? Do you think it was his way to let us know he was there?"
