How do you create an OC? What are your steps for developing an OC?
Questions for the Mun
((I tend to start with an idea and end up building off of that. Like, my starting idea with Erna was "farm girl who's set out on an adventure for the first time." Lenar was "blind elf mage (roughly along the lines of Toph from Avatar)," Sayran/Svaran was "fey child raised by humans in a society where necromancy isn't vilified." Another character I have, Vivienne, was "necromancer girl with an army of possessed dolls."
And then, like I said, I build from there. What things, based on the environment I've placed them in, do I need to add to go along with the theme? What can't be added because it contradicts the theme too much? And then you fill in other details that don't necessarily add to or contradict the theme, but still slot in nicely lmao.
Some parts of the original theme might be downplayed or discarded as necessary, but the seed is pretty much always there in some aspect. Like for instance, Original Flavor™️ Sayran was 75 years old but looked like a teenager/young adult. When I played him in one of my ttrpg groups, that version was 17 instead, and looked the part. Meanwhile, Svaran is back to being 75 and not looking a day over 20 lmfao))
