That said, Ludwig is a morbid personality and extremely prone to bringing up topics involved with medicine, surgery, and violence. He is capable of cruelty, his anger may lead to insult, and his idea of fun can range from biopsies to practical jokes. He is friendly when he wants to be, is in his early 50s, and has fought in wars.

If you’re still open to have your muse interact with him regardless of all of that, amazing! You’re hired!

The types of relationships that could be formed with Ludwig are:

FRIENDS

Friendship is a bit of a strange area for Ludwig. His first instinct upon meeting somebody who isn’t outright trying to kill or insult him is to put on a happy face, clap them on the shoulder, and act as though he’s already willing to become allies.

The reality of the situation is that Ludwig does not trust easily; while a muse may seem to hit it off with him, he will not fully trust them until given good reason. What this so called ‘good reason’ is can be up to interpretation, whether that means surviving a traumatic event together, having his own life saved, or as simple as someone being kind to his birds.

If friends with Ludwig, whether he trusts you or not, you can expect advice when needed, advice when not needed, stories about the war or his work, and an ear happy to listen to everything you’re willing to say. He adores gossip and idle chatter.

Getting too affectionate, however, may lead to grumpiness. He is not a touchy man and prefers others to stay outside of his bubble unless he’s the one initiating, save for those select few he truly trusts. If you can hug him without fuss, then congratulations! He will kill for you.

ENEMIES

He will kill you.

Just as easily as he makes friends, it’s not hard to earn him as an enemy. Threats towards Ludwig won’t quite do it, of course, but acting on those threats? Fights? Hell yeah, he’ll hate you. Insulting him, genuinely insulting him or his work? His birds? And then keeping it up? Fuck yeah he’ll hate you!

Threaten his birds? He might just straight up come at you, man. I can’t promise your safety at that point. Under no circumstances will I allow anyone’s muse to hurt any of his birds, but kidnapping, insults, and threats are free reign and the most surefire way to set him off. The birds are serious business.

If you want an enemy that’s totally willing to go for a kill and not afraid to be nasty, go for it. Hell, if you want to kill someone and have them come back for another round, go for it!

COLLEAGUES

This could just as easily fall under friends, but professional relationships are more than welcome as well. Ludwig is always looking to expand his practice outside of shady back alleys and would be more than happy to work alongside somebody, just don’t expect him to follow your rules.

Talk about science (medical or not), literature (though the mun admittedly isn’t an academic), birds, etc.

This is- okay this is just ‘friends but smart’ I guess?

PATIENTS

All friends are patients, but not all patients are friends!

This is open to anyone and is an entirely casual business relationship. Ludwig is capable of treating most any injury of most any severity, most illnesses, and has dabbled in veterinary medicine.

If you come to him for help, he will do his very best to give you what you need. Just be aware that his bedside manner, while not terrible, has few filters. He may endear you to him one moment and the next talk about the last time he had someone come in with a shattered femur and the horrible amputation it required!

ROMANCE

Oh, wait.... you’re serious? Uh, sounds fake but okay!

Ludwig is not actively searching for romance. He might flirt, he might even eye people up, but he doesn’t expect it to go farther than a single night of fun if that far at all. Sometimes feeling handsome is all you need.

He is in his 50s. He has an ex wife. He’s jaded, he’s been hurt. He’s eccentric, hard to deal with, not terribly affectionate, he’s done horrible things (without regret), and most of his hobbies are downright disturbing. There might be a good enough man to love under all of that and if you’ve managed to properly worm your way into his life to the point that he enjoys your company, you might have a chance. Might.

But he’s going to fight it. Relationships are something Ludwig is wary of, nowhere near fearful but reluctant to consider. He’s been cheated on. He’s lost at least one good friend in Isola, so he’s aware of the fleeting nature of things in the city.

Good fuckin luck, bruh.

Ludwig can be found just about anywhere for just about any reason you’d like! Stores (pet stores and pharmacies, especially), hospitals or vets’ offices, bars, anywhere with good food (the one thing he’s truly homesick for), at parks feeding the pigeons/ducks, grave robbing, etc.

He probably wouldn’t be anywhere super technology oriented, as he is from the 1960s and still a bit shell shocked by the future, but just about any setting should be perfectly fine is what I’m trying to say.

waters that reflected an childhood parted in two , one half dipped in warm sun dancing across sun kissed skin and salty water devouring painted toes . and the other with an forced hole in your heart sheltered by masculine hands . the vogel girls and dad .

it was an family entangled in words pulled from pages , it’s title being the perfect family . everything about them , it was just right . the love , the happiness it was all there . lavinia’s younger years , she spent them glued to her father . her mornings walking around his shelter playing with four legged angels and her afternoons sitting between her mothers legs as the two watched the ocean clash into the blue sky above it .

her nights consisted of loud laughter that soared from her sisters mouth , her emerald hues watching love radiate off of her parents . even at her age , she just knew that that’s how love was suppose to be . and then one day , it changed . a blink of an eye , in a beat of a second . her mother with an induced voice and tender eyes fell into a rabbit hole of darkness . and before lavinia could turn to her dad and muster out an why, she packed her stuff , got in the car and never looked back .

three years later , he had to sit down his children and tell them that their mother .. the love of his life was no longer here . up until she was old enough to grasp it , she did not know what happened . why her mother no longer wanted to be her mommy . the beauty and the curse of innocence . her dad did everything in his power to play both roles , to fill their head with good memories of his wife despite the pain she left the four of them . ozzy vogel was a good man . he built his girls an amazing life in charlottesville. granted them everything he could . but most importantly , he raised three beautiful women on his own . all on his own.

lavinia is the baby of her family, and the only child her parents planned for : her dad use to tease her sisters by calling them a happy surprise before throwing a playful wink in lavinia’s direction.

with age , lavinia started to discover of course with help of her older sister arabella that their mother turned to drugs to ease whatever struggle she was dealing with internally . and while it did not make her leaving them any easier , it did give them an understanding .arabella , along with their father , is the only one who constantly tries to fill their heads with positive thoughts of their mother .. telling them memories and quirks and sayings she was granted with their mom . sometimes , lavinia longed to hear them and others ? she hated it .

she basically grew up at her fathers shelter and quickly learned helping those who do not have a voice was a calling .she also connects with animals in a sense of , knowing what it’s like to be abandoned and unwanted .

her family means everything to her , she will constantly jump hoops for them .while their father had never been too much of an athlete , their mother was .. and the girls at a young age found their own little sports to devote themselves to .

her biggest ambition in life is to live ?? she so badly wants to just take everything in , all of the highs and the ups and the wonders of being alive .

WHAT  INSPIRED  YOU  TO  TAKE  ON  THIS  MUSE :  Heard of snk years ago when my little sister was raving about it & i was like meh another over-hyped anime hahahaHA was i wrong i mean like, the hype was WELL worth it so I stuck my toe in & ended up drowning (idk if i regret it yet lol) ANYHOO, back when shit was simple & the only thing they had to worry about in snk was killing the titans , it was still established that the last surviving humans were solely made up of those within the walls who were , to my extreme confusion , 100% white caucasian (save for Mikasa & her mum) & i was just like yooo I knowyoufuckinlyin bc aint no way every single black/brown person just got devoured (like come on titans don’t see colour lool) & truthfully , that was the main reason I didn’t get into snk at the beginning (ik im a salty bitch k) SO YEAH that was half of my reason for creating Nina & raising the roof (she says) with a little diversity ygm. but the MAIN reason was bc i was hella HELLA into the lore & the origin of the titans (which was what eventually sucked me back in- that & anime crack x<) & i got so into it that i started writing a fic in an as spin-offy-ish way as possible i.e. where there is virtually no diversion from the canon plotline ~ & I needed a single person who’d seen it through from the pseudo-beginning (or who was tied to it in some way) for the reader to follow on a more personal level. then THAT blew hella out of proportion & I ended up planning her  journey far into and beyond the marley arc & forging relationships I never thought she’d have. I’ve always loved reading you guys’ writing & I found myself wanting to see , more realistically , how canon characters would react to Nina - when I say realistically, I mean without my control or influence bc in the fic , I’m basically  directing how interactions go. Also she’s my baby & I love her

WHAT  ARE  YOUR  FAVORITE  ASPECTS  OF  YOUR  CURRENT  MUSE :  I love her capacity to just get on with shit & idk if this is necessarily a good thing but nina has this ‘i dont give a damn’ attitude ingrained into her being, in a way that is quite liberating for her personally. After living through certain experiences , she has thrown all protocol , all decorum or just anything that ‘should be done’ to the dogs wind be it in the way she speaks , the stuff she does , they way she engages with people. BUT this doesn’t take away from the fact that she knows & recognises what things like duty & loyalty are , their importance & who she owes these to. I love her flippancy , her complete intolerance of bullshit , how she doesn’t wait for explanations when she sees real wrong/ something that bothers her which again isn’t always the wisest choice but still. I love her indisputable drive despite everything about her screaming the opposite , how when she decides something is going to be done , she’ll do it or die trying - I could go on forever honestly so I’m gonna save this for another post/ character study ~

WHAT’S  YOUR  BIGGEST  INSPIRATION  WHEN  IT  COMES  TO  WRITING :  Oh my , so many things ; a LOT of inspo is from everyday life & people I meet i.e. the phrases they use , the way they strike me ; I’m also very drawn to poets like armitage & pullman’s stuff as well but it really isn’t apparent at all in my writing. I LOVE dickens but again that’s not bait either um yh that’s thing with me with other people’s writing - i can love it to bits but I don’t always actively draw inspo from it (not any that you can see anyway) but honestly i’m just a potato who scribbles random bs that i sometimes like from my head :D

FAVORITE  TYPES  OF  THREADS :  I love dark/gallows humour or even just good old-fashioned comedy (i like to laugh ok) , give me angst or give me death , ‘rough’ fluff i.e. where one person really doesn’t want to fluff but can’t help themselves or where they show affection in a way that wouldn't really be seen as affectionate usually , human psyche discussions are also my shit ~ I really can’t think of anything I DONT like tbh, so

BIGGEST  STRUGGLE  IN  REGARDS  TO  YOUR  CURRENT  MUSE :  Organising her thoughts ; i find this difficult because Nina’s thought process i.e. when she’s carrying out a specific task, is very focused & kinda 1D ; at the same time when she’s ‘ at rest ‘ (look what physics has done to me) she will have a million other things racing through her head whilst having the situation at hand at the forefront & even then those ‘other thoughts’ are usually all to do with a certain blueprint she’s drawing up mentally or a thorough once over of the person before her/ her surroundings ; so although Nina appears to be a very distracted individual she really isn’t unless she finds a concrete plan for some machine & is in the process of building it/ is under stress). I find this very incompatible with my own thought process which is all over the fucking place & I dissociate/depersonalise a lot whereas Nina (ATM) has a very strong sense of self idk it’s something I’m working on ; I also have loads of qualms about whether Nina is a good character i.e. whether she’s interesting or original enough & even though this is dumb, whether people like her lol :’)
