“Surely you’re joking,” a malicious sneer rose at the appalling suggestion, earning a disapproving sigh from the Vampire. “Absolutely not. Under no circumstances would I ever entertain such disrespect towards me. Why do you ask, anyway? Are you someone who seeks to claim another as your own, Cassandra? Leaving your own unique mark on them…? If so, then you and I are much more similar than I thought.”

Irritation swelled deep within his gelid heart at the mere thought of receiving what most Vampires could only consider as an insult from one who, unlike themselves, derive no nourishment from drinking blood.

“While I don’t enjoy being bitten myself, I prefer to do the biting. There’s something beyond satisfying about seeing the handiwork of my own ministrations inflicted on someone else, not to mention how a bite is akin to a much stronger, more passionate kiss. Sometimes a kiss alone doesn’t suffice in evincing how much I desire someone to the point of wanting to do everything that comes after a mere kiss and a bite.”

Settling the score from earlier, it would seem both had uncomfortable questions to inquire about one another, yet that didn’t stop Ruki from encroaching closer with a hint of a mischievous smirk; almost as if challenging the girl before him.
