He was stronger than her so of course he was able to move her away. Still, she had never been one in all her many years to give up on things. He was so stubborn though that it often frustrated her even if she understood where it came from. She’d known him for as long as she could remember.

“You realize that if I were scheming against you, I would hardly take the time to provide you with affection of any sort. I would likely be too busy stuffing a dagger of some kind into your back or any other body part.” She scoffed, shaking her head. “I happen to care for you and that’s something you will just deal with. One of the days, you will wake up and realize that I have no ulterior motives, and never have.”

Because, everyone else turned their back on you. I spend my entire existence with you and you just break it off with me? Out of what? Some misguided attempt at saving me from what I already know?”
