this was what he knew he was good at. having been a personal trainer for a while before he was forced into being a weapon at an underground fighting ring - he enjoyed actually helping out others learn to defend themselves and make sure their body and mind was ready for anything that was coming at them. ale was already training alone for about an hour before the time he set for sethan. needing to warm up a bit - even if since when he accepted the gift - his body felt like he didn't need any warm ups. he knew what he was doing, just everything came to him and the knowledge was just there. training around with every weapon around him, the demigod turned around and spotted the boy walking in and something about it actually pulled a smile on his face. "good, you made it !" placing the greatsword over his shoulder, he walked up over to him and clapped his back. "you think you need to warm up or should we get right to it?"

ale felt bad for a moment for how he snapped, but thankfully he was able to reel that right back in and calm himself. "oh yeah, the spooky shit." he laughed, noticing then that something was off about the demigod before him. listening to what he said, he looked back around at everyone and shook his head. "they are missing out if they don't like you, because - well, what is there not to like? -- how about you get some food, even though i think you cook better than all that is out there." he winked and placed his free hand onto the boys shoulder.
"how about you join me then, i was gonna walk out a bit and just enjoy some food. get away from the loud noises for a bit. maybe that can help clear your head, well both of ours from thinking people don't like us, yeah?" the son of ares stepped to the side and moved his hands slowly down to rest on the small of sethan's back as he stepped next to him. "how about it?"
sethan definitely wasn't expecting to run into a nice pair of tits when he made his way through the ghost. and yet...here he is. he flenched as he heard the harsh voice, but relaxed a bit when he opened his eyes and saw who it was. he saw the confused look on the other man's face and let out a sigh. "i walked through a ghost. that's why i didn't see you." sethan explained with a shake of his head.
"i was going to grab a plate and probably head back to the cabin." sethan admitted. "i...i don't think a lot of the people around here like me. i think i creep some of them out." which totally blows. back at home, he's really popular. sweet and fun to be around. but here? his powers immediately made him seem a bit more creepy and dark. not that he minded. he supposed it allowed him to only hang out with people who are interested in seeing past just what someone's powers are. "what about you?"

spooky shit, that was what he was going to stick with when it came to how he was from now on to describe sethan's skill set. something about it actually made him excited to see what the other might have in store for him. getting to learn what each demigod here was able to bring to the floor and how ale can work with them to make sure and destroy the battle grounds together.
"good, i was hoping that you would want to try and take a jab at me." smirking, the son of ares moved back a few feet as he twirled the greatsword in his hand - making sure to give the boy distance and a chance hit him. "don't hold back - because i am surely not going to." winking, he prepped himself to take whatever the demigod had for him.
sethan couldn't help the giggle that escaped when the other summed up his powers by saying 'spooky shit'. although he supposed very few people here would disagree with him. sethan nodded his head. "yeah, that's a good way of putting it. 'spooky shit' is my power." sethan said with a nod of his head and a small laugh.
sethan heard the other man's options. realistically? sethan knew he wouldn't be able to win against the other man. but he supposed this wasn't about winning. this was about improving and getting stronger. and a non-moving dummy is probably not going to offer him a challenge. since their enemies are likely not going to be just standing still and waiting for him. "i think i'll try taking you on." sethan said with a nod of his head. "as nice as the dummies are? i don't think any enemies we may come into contact are just gonna wait for me, you know?"

hearing what he's learned, he cocked his head as he tried to understand it - one thing from it all actually stood out from the rest. sethan was able to commune with the dead. he wondered if that can extend to his mother. he needed to shake that off and focus now. this wasn't time to think about the dead. "so like.. spooky shit, got it." he couldn't help but let out a little chuckle, something that isn't very common for the son of ares. right when he watched the boy doing his lap, he kept his eyes trained on him the whole time while he kept slashing, and kicking the training dummy before him. the moment the boy came running back over to him, he gave him soft smile and placed a hand on the boys shoulder. "good - now. are you wanting take it easy and work with these assholes." ale asked, punching the dummy before him. "or - do you think you can take me on?" he winked.
sethan let the other take his bag from him without fuss. thankful that it was placed down gently and not just slammed down as he's seen some people do. sethan nodded his head when hte other asked him to explain his skill set. "i'm the son of the goddess of magic, crossrhodes, ghost, witchcraft, and necromancy." sethan explained with a smile. "so far i've learned how to summon a bolt of magic to strike people down, how to hex my enemies, how to commune with the dead, how to do a small explosion, and how to look into the future briefly to see one possible scenario. however that last one drains me quite a bit."
the son of hecate took a deep breath after listing that stuff off before smiling. sethan nodded his head before groaning. "three full laps?" he whined playfully. making sure a playful smile was on his face to show that he was just messing around before he got started. he was definitely no slouch with his running, and he was pretty light on his feet. being a ex-thief has taught him a few skills after all. after getting his three laps done, he stopped next to the dummy. "alright! definitely got the blood pumping." sethan chuckled, his body feeling excited and jittery.

watching the boy walking in with the bow in hand, he took his bag for him and placed it next to his own. turning his attention right back to look at the demigod before him with his greatsword still sitting on his bare shoulder. ale didn't need to wear much of anything while he was training, just some compression shorts. what else did he actually need. bringing the greatsword down, he smirked. "no need to thank me. it's what i use to do - once upon a time. now -- first, tell me about what you have learned or know already about your skill set?" ale did need to know more about what sethan was able to do. it was going to take time to understand what everyone can do and how they are able to bounce off each other. ale back up now and stood next to the training dummy. "of course, easy lap around, get your blood bumping a bit and then we'll go from there. so - go on, give me three full laps around and when you are done, come back to me." he winked, punching the training dummy with his free fist.
sethan was definitely a bit nervous. he wasn't necessarily a fighter. even when he was on the streets with his father, sethan preferred stealth over violence. using the shadows and the night to sneak in and steal things and pick pocket things. a past he's not proud of now, but the skills might come in handy. but he understands that sometimes? he'll have to fight to protect not just himself, but these people that he was quickly beginning to care about. and he might not have the luxury of being unskilled.
so when the other offered to train him? sethan took him up on it. sethan made his way to the area. his bag thrown over his shoulder and wearing a pair of loose cloths so that way his body wouldn't be to constricted. he couldn't help but pout playfully as the other placed the greatsword over his shoulder, all while sethan was nervously toying with the bow in his hands. "thanks. and once again, thanks for helping me. i've tried to read books about how to fight but...i doubt that will be to useful in actual practice." sethan said with a chuckle. "would you mind helping me warm up? i wasn't sure what a warmup for a training session like this should entitle."

ale was just about to leave, he already had enough of the night so he pocketed a good amount of food in one arm. stuffing his face while he moved across the grounds. the son of ares was barely paying attention while he walked. if anyone dared to be in front of him as he passed through - he were bond to get a wall of chest coming.
looking down at the food he was carrying, he was just about to take a bite of something until he ran right into the young demigod. "watch where -- " he started and then noticed who it was and bit his tongue. tossing over a look at what sethan was looking at confused. "uh -- i guess i have been enjoying the food more. i was just going to leave." turning back to look at the feast, he rolled his eyes before looking right back the the handsome demigod. "you just going in?"
@raging-ale
sethan was totally not sulking. not at all. so what if he wasn't asked to help with the food? it's not like that would upset sethan. there are plenty of other things he can offer people! like...creeping them out by appearing to talk to himself when he's talking to a spirit. or watching as people cringe away from him when naga slithers their way around his arm when they wish to leave the cabin with him. sethan let out a small sigh as he finished off his drink, smiling at the person he was talking to.
"well...i hope you have a good...afterlife?" sethan finished awkwardly. he flashed them a sheepish smile before standing up and literally walking through them. however, in the process? he ended up running straight into someone. someone familiar. "ah, crap," sethan groaned as he looked at the other. "sorry, didn't mean to walk straight into you. i was...preoccupied." he said, shooting a glare over his shoulder at the spirit that was giggling mischievously before they wondered away. "have you been enjoying this little feast?" sethan asked with a smile.
