I swear. This could be both of our ships.
Colin and Pen BARELY touched lips for their first kiss and it had Colin spiraling to the point where he was entering the drawing room and going “I DIDN’T KISS PENELOPE FEATHERINGTON QUIT ASKING ME” before anyone had even said one word to him that morning

[ BRAID ]: sender, sitting behind the receiver’s back, begins to braid their hair. (For Thorin)
𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐍𝐆𝐒 𝐃𝐎𝐍𝐄 𝐖𝐈𝐓𝐇 𝐇𝐀𝐈𝐑 𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐌𝐏𝐓𝐒 ┈► always accepting.
Braiding one's hair was a special thing to do among the dwarves. It was quite the intimate moment when a loved one or a close friend had braided a dwarf's hair, making it quite the significant moment. Thorin had always only allowed kin to do his (his mother or his sister, but that was about it.) However, since Thinya had come into his life, their conversation that had taken place months ago had gone the way he had hoped it would. But what he hadn't expected was for the dam to sit behind him and begin braiding. That was a topic they had touched upon a few times, but never did they officially say if she would do it or not. He supposed that he was glad she took it upon herself to do so. Bright blues closed slowly as the dwarf turned and sat still for her, waiting until she finished.

Questions for the Mun: ♧ Is there an RP partner(s) that you credit for becoming a better writer? | ♥ What's your favourite ship with your muse? | ♡ Would you ever write a poly ship? | ♦ What's an AU that you've always wanted?
♧ Is there an RP partner(s) that you credit for becoming a better writer? |
I don’t know if I understood well the question, so I will answer the way I see it: there is one RP partner who’s been there since the very beginning of my blog. I was a random OC and that amazing & loyal friend helped me become a better writer. So I will credit @lightxswan for her awesomeness (& yes you should all go follow her because she’s precious, she’s my Arkenstone), and for giving me a chance to develop my OC and become a better version of what I used to be before. She gave me strength to fight for Thinya.
♥ What’s your favourite ship with your muse? |
THORIN & THINYA FOREVER. *heart eyes* That’s my ultimate OTP. I though ship her with whoever wants (although I’m more comfortable writing male x female ships).
♡ Would you ever write a poly ship? |
A poly ship? Like my muse having more than one partner in a thread? Maybe.
♦ What’s an AU that you’ve always wanted?
Oh boy there are so many.. I actually am open to all AUs !

Titles be damned.
He wanted this dam to be in his life whether it was as his Queen or not. Of course, this was breaking tradition entirely and Thorin had been the biggest proponent of tradition, but for her he was willing to break away from all of that. For his nephew, who fell in love with one of the elves. They say that once you hit a certain age you're too old to learn new things, but the dwarf liked to say that he wasn't so old as to not change his ways.
It would be hard - in regards to his nephew, especially because of the long standing distrust and hate between dwarves and elves. But there was nothing about him saying that wouldn't try. And here was Thinya; the dam who was a jeweler having lost her titles that very fateful day. Technically now considered to be that of the common folk, a working class dwarrowdam, but the brunette had always seen her for much more than appearances and titles.
And now the other was bowing.
Shaking his head, Thorin simply motioned for her to straighten up, "You do not need to bow to me, love." The rumbling tone and words feel from his lips as he turned away from her to take a look at the grand scene below them. Her words struck a chord within him, tugging at the strings. Standing by the fact that emotions were quite complicated, the dwarf king was willing to walk through this tale with her - to explore any and all aspects of their relationship.
But one fact still remained: they would have to contend with the Council.
What the hell had it mattered? He was king, was he not? It was only his right to choose whom he so wished to spend the rest of his years with while on the throne. Thinya had always been special to him though it wasn't until now that he was finally able to say so.
"I don't care if you do not have titles or anything of the sort." The brunette said softly, hands curling into fists as he looked away "You are who I want at my side, standing beside the throne and being my Queen."
There it was.
That confession he truly needed to hear from her, while he knew deep down that she'd felt the same as he had. Expression softening as she spoke, Thorin simply listened to her words allowing them to process in his mind. They waited for far too long - way too long to allow their feelings to come out, allowing these emotions to built up over time. Holding them back until the time was right never really quite knowing of when that would exactly be.
But here they were.
Feeling tender fingers caress his jawline had the dwarf tilting his chin in to the touch, bright blues closing slowly as her words had finally - finally, settled in his heart and mind. The heavy, dreading feeling that something different would have been said had disappeared from his thoughts entirely. It was now his turn to admit his feelings for the dam, a new confidence building deep within his chest that ached to spill out, to push him over the edge and get him to kiss her.
Thankfully, he listened to the logical part and held fast. Those bright blues had once again opened up gazing into her own emerald hues. The fear of rejection no longer clouding his thoughts Thorin had simply released a soft hum, bringing his hand to hers and carefully grasping around her wrist. "Thinya..." The name rolled easily from his lips as he hesitated a moment, thinking of the right words to say.
In his mind; he was much better equipped to handle court meetings and the like. Matters such as these were not always so simple - becoming much more complicated should things not go the way one planned.
"My departure had only made these feelings stronger." Was what the brunette had said after some time. A gentle squeeze to her wrist had been given before he released her, his gaze looking to her own "I knew that if I had expressed what I'd felt to you that day, I wouldn't have wanted to leave." It was his own admittance, one that he was absolutely okay with admitting to. "I would have been fine building a home in Ered Luin. But," The warrior had slowly taken a step back, facing the sky that was now much darker than it had been moments ago, "We needed our home, again. To build and have future generations live in the great fortress of one of the last seven Dwarf kingdoms. To know that they had a home as much as we did." That Thinya would now have a home within the Lonely Mountain once more, with him "I was...afraid, if we're speaking honestly here. Afraid that my affections for you would not be returned." The brunette turned to face the dam once more, "But tonight has proven differently."

Hearing the gentle whispered words the dwarf king had followed the dam with his gaze, soon eventually following her as she commanded. The smile upon her features had eased the nerves once more - a sight he simply adored the more he saw of it. Thinya had closed up shop behind them while speaking on showing him her favorite spot, a laugh emitting from her lips. He missed this closeness, this ease of back and forth talk. Her laughter making even the darkest of moments lighter.
Remembering back to the earlier days of Ered Luin - to when they'd first met, becoming close over time had been what got him through one of the most difficult times in his life. There had been plenty of difficult moments, but that quest that Tharkun had sent him on was a particularly difficult task due to the fact that there had been so many against the idea. Not having the support from his kin had been a bit of a blow to his positive thoughts, but as always he persevered in going through. With or without support, Thorin Oakenshield was never one to back down whenever his mind was dead set on pushing forward. He would follow this woman to the ends of the Earth if she'd allow it. Without so much as a word spoken for a while, the royal had began to follow the dam upon the balcony. Stopping when she had his gaze took in the scene before him; pinks, blues, oranges, reds and the like colored the sky above them in what happened to be the most beautifully painted picture. His gaze would shift its focus to the dark-headed dam beside him, bright blues softening as he listened to her words carefully.
'I will always be here...'
Now was as good a time as ever. With a deep breath Thorin had raised a hand to cup her face, thumb gently brushing along once he was certain he'd had her attention "I've never doubted your loyalty, Thinya." The dwarf spoke softly, expression softening with each word "There is...something else that we must speak upon, something that goes much deeper than just our friendship." There it was. There was the opening to the one topic they both had avoided speaking on for so long.

There was the gentle confession.
It wasn't as heavy as he thought it would have been, but it had allowed the royal to feel some sort of relief. The tension in his shoulders finally lifted as she said her piece. The expression turning into a softer one as his thumb gently caressed her cheek, the corners of his lips curling slightly at the admission. She'd..She'd felt the same as he had. It was a surprise and a blessing to hear that there were feelings returned.
And his next aim had been to fulfill that.
Allowing the silence to settle between them Thorin had carefully leaned forward, slow at first in case she had wanted to step back from him. No movement made just yet, the dwarf king had continued to lean forward pressing his lips to hers in a soft kiss that would allow her to either take over from that point or pull back. Never one to push anything unwanted the brunette had held back quite a bit within this moment.
It was his way of showing that he wanted to go forward with the dam; to allow them a chance to reignite the flames they held for so long but were only now able to fan them. Within moments the royal was pulling his head back though his hand remained cupped along her cheek. Bright blues looked into green, an air of uncertainty rolling off of the dwarf king as he awaited for what her response would be.
There were a few way she could respond and the warrior had hoped that it would be in a positive way, and not the negative. Taking that leap forward to show her just what his feelings were had been quite risky as guards were walking along and could have spotted both of them here upon the balcony. Had he given a damn? No. Not one bit. He'd held off for this long in giving into the feelings he had for this woman, there would be no way he was holding back anymore.

Now was as good a time as ever. The dwarf spoke softly, expression softening with each word "There is...something else that we must speak upon, something that goes much deeper than just our friendship." There it was. There was the opening to the one topic they both had avoided speaking on for so long.
There was just something about their interaction that flowed so easily between them. Whether it was the fact that they'd spent a lot of time talking during their stay in Ered Luin, or what - Thorin wasn't certain. Thinya had a presence that seemed to bring a natural calmness to the atmosphere. A trait the royal had come to notice upon their first meeting many years ago, finding himself missing it terribly during the quest.
Yes. He'd missed his friend during that danger-riddled quest. The company would often tease him for it, saying that there were hidden feelings there he had been hiding. Oftentimes, Thorin found himself denying it flat out thinking that the other brunette had not harbored these same feelings. Saying she was just a friend who had been much like family to him, so essentially he was going to miss her.
However, that hadn't seemed to put off the teasing his kin had done. Her words had pulled the brunette from his thoughts, bright blues looking to the dam a moment blinking in confusion before realizing she had began speaking to him. Oh. Oh.
Had she just asked him if he wanted to go somewhere? Wait, had she also said that he was missed as well? Perhaps he should pay more attention, he believed. That was a bad habit that needed to be remedied, and quickly. Because Thorin had learned that when he got lost in his own thoughts and hadn't responded for a time, it always made the other person feel as though they were overstepping - or boring him. The latter to be true, often.
His gaze would shift to the woman once more as she spoke again, not missing the admitted words she spoke of. His head tilted a bit before he nodded, clearing his throat to indicate he'd been listening. "Wherever you wish to go, I'll follow." The dwarf answered, implicating that no matter where she would go, he would be right there with her. Whether she'd catch on to that or not was something to be seen.

The dwarf answered, implicating that no matter where she would go, he would be right there with her. Whether she'd catch on to that or not was something to be seen.
Hearing Thinya speak of her parents - particularly her father, had tugged at the strings of his heart. Thingar had been a wonderful dwarf; dedicated father, a hard-working man. A trusted dwarf whom his own father had trusted with his life though, Thorin was certain that Thrain had never gotten the chance to tell the craftsman this. His gaze would watch the woman as she gestured towards the necklace around her neck, a fond expression appearing upon his features at the fact she'd been able to save some of the deceased dwarf's works and show of the beautiful work.
A soft huff left the royal at the mention of her shop keeping her busy, knowing fully well that she enjoyed knowing that there were people who loved her work. It didn't surprise him, though, that everyone loved her work since she was apart of a well loved and known family. Her talents had only strengthened it seems, having already been quite the talented craftswoman before hand. And from their earlier conversations, that talent seemed to have just gone down the line. "I could never forget you." Thorin answered, a pang tugging at his heart at those words, though he knew she jest somewhat. A part of him had hoped that she would tell him if that were such a feeling she had. "Busy is quite the understatement." A soft chuckle left the brunette, his gaze taking the dam's form in for a moment, "It is a never ending cycle of things." Thorin murmured, turning to her fully before folding his arms across his chest.
This. Thorin had missed moments like this one; two people casually talking with one another, his anxiousness subsiding due to this dam's ability to ease any and all worries he had. Had it always been like this? Yes. Yes it had. From the moment they met there was a spark - though at the time the dwarf could not place it due to the calamity the whole of Erebor and Dale had faced. The many nights and days of conversation they would have, the fact that there had been quite of bit in common. He supposed that last bit had made things easier. "You've been missed, you know."
