End of the Year WIP ask game

I have so many WIPs lol but it's been a long time since I shared anything for Cas so here's a snippet of a draft from my Cas x love witch series <3:

Cassian leaned casually against the counter of your shop, his eyes tracking your movements as you approached the shelves lined with colorful potions. The last potion you had given him had left him feeling all warm and giddy and giggly. “Glee brew,” you had called it. “A feel good potion.” 

The potion worked in a similar way to alcohol. It held the power to make you feel light and release your inhibitions without the consequences of losing your balance or feeling hungover the following day. You even claimed it brought good luck.

Tapping one finger against your lips in deep contemplation, your eyes scanned the array of vibrant elixirs. Cassian watched as your eyes brightened, lingering on a vial filled with a shimmering blush-colored liquid.

“This one’s called ‘Butterfly’s Kiss,’” you said as you reached for it and made your way back to him. “It’s said to awaken the butterflies in your stomach, guiding you toward love. It’s one of my most popular—and potent—potions. I just brewed this batch this morning!”

Cassian glanced down at the potion you held out to him. The cork was fashioned into a dainty butterfly, its wings spread as if caught in mid-flight. He examined it for a moment before uncapping it with a crisp pop that startled Honey from his nap. The little feline’s white tail twitched as he blinked open his sleepy eyes and Cassian eyed the cat in a wary manner, remembering the last time he had piqued Honey’s interest.

“The nice thing about this potion,” you continued, drawing his attention back to you,  “is that it smells different to everyone, according to what they find most attractive. The stronger the scent, the more potent the potion.”

Cassian brought the vial to his nose, his brows furrowing slightly in a curious manner.. He frowned slightly and looked back at you. “All I can smell is you,” he said, though the scent of rose and vanilla seemed to have wrapped itself around him since he entered your shop.

“What?” You exclaimed, a look of disbelief crossing your face. You took the vial from him, leaning in to sniff it yourself. “I’m getting the same thing—just you,” you murmured, puzzled. A small frown tugged at your lips as you set the vial down on the counter. “Why didn’t I–Cauldron above, my magic has never failed my potions…”

“I can still try it,” Cassian offered. You opened your mouth to protest, but before you could utter a word, Cassian had already lifted the potion to his lips. 

“Cas…” you gasped, your hand freezing mid air, your eyes widening.

Time seemed to stretch into an eternity as you watched him take a tentative sip and then a large gulp. The atmosphere in the room thickened with anticipation. Honey’s tail had gone still, and even Moxie, who had been restocking candles, peered around the corner.

Cassian felt hot. 

His face flushed and he felt short of breath as a violent flutter tore through his stomach. It quickly escalated into a nauseating churn that spread through his insides. He set the vial down with a trembling hand, his knuckles white against the counter as he leaned heavily on it for support.

“Oh, Cas,” he heard you murmur.

You disappeared from his side with a sense of urgency and returned quickly. Moxie had brought a chair for him to sit and you placed a trash bin in front of him just in time. Cassian barely had a moment to react before he was doubled over, the effects of the potion manifesting violently.

NyxNoct: "They never knew what to buy each other for these occasions; there were traditional suggestions everywhere around the city and on offer from their friends just trying to watch their backs, but neither of them were traditional sort of guys."

It's how Noctis ends up with a card featuring a cartoon Moogle and it's heart shaped antenna, a single blue rose and a bottle of shampoo. Noctis blinks at the peach colored bottle in the kindest curiosity, turning it over to look at the ivory label.

Honey & Apricot enriched, with a familiar depiction of an apricot hanging from a vine. Noctis purses his lower lip, a wrinkle slitting across the bridge of his nose as he tries to recall the last time he saw this.

"That cabin trip we took for your birthday last year," Nyx answers the silent question as he sits next to Noctis on the couch. "Remember? You forgot your shampoo, but got lucky they had some travel sized ones in the bathroom for guests. It made your hair super soft and you said you were obsessed with the smell."

That's right. Noctis remembers saying he was going to switch shampoos immediately once they got home, but it must've slipped his mind. He didn't remember to snag the bottle to look back at either.

What he does remember are the nights Nyx would join him in the shower and kiss his shoulders as the soothingly warm water rolled down their backs. They'd help each other wash up, always saving Noct's hair for last. For whatever reason, whenever Nyx works his fingers across Noct's scalp, massaging and getting the shampoo to suds up, Noctis nearly falls asleep.

There were a few nights during that cabin trip where Noctis was half asleep by the time they cuddled up together in bed. Still, Noctis vaguely remembers feeling Nyx's steady heartbeat against his cheek, or Nyx nosing into his extra fluffy hair while running fingers through it.

"You remembered that?" Noctis smiles up at him.

"Not the most traditionally romantic thing..." Nyx laughs nervously and shrugs. "But after everything tonight, I can wash your hair for you with your favorite scent. It's, uh..." He clears his throat and quickly mutters under his breath, "It's kinda my favorite too. To smell on you, I mean. That- that sounded weird… Not a selfish gift at all!"

"I think it's great," Noct says with a wide grin and enamored gaze. He bites his lip and then lowers his head as he looks off to the side. "My gift, um... isn't completely selfless either."

Nyx perks up at that, surprised as though he'd forgotten he was worthy of receiving something in exchange. Noct turns to grab the plain gray gift bag sitting behind him and sets it down in front of Nyx.

The card features the beloved Li'l Malbuddy making a heart with a pair of his own tentacles. The heart shaped box of chocolate confections is a limited time line of treats from Nyx's favorite bakery. The main gift at the very bottom is folded neatly; a soft, dark blue sweater. It's the perfect size for Nyx as he unfolds it, revealing the text on the front - a check mark appropriately marking the box next to the word ANTI-PANTS.

Nyx bursts into laughter.

"I wore it for two days to test the soft and comfy levels for you," Noctis says nonchalantly. "My research shows it's super soft and comfy."

"'Course it did."

And of course, by natural instinct at this point in their relationship, any clothes Nyx owns are prone to being stolen and regularly modeled by one infamous sweater thief of a prince.

It's a gift for the both of them as much as the shampoo is.

"So... maybe after dinner, some wine and movie, you'll have something comfy to slip into after a bubble bath."

"Maybe," Nyx repeats skeptically, tilting his head at Noct.

"Hey, you can wear it tonight! If it goes missing after that, I don't know what to tell you."

"Hm. Might have to place you under arrest the next time I catch you, thief."

"Is that a threat," Noct smirks at him, "or a promise?"

"Wouldn't you like to know." Nyx chuckles, leaning in to steal a quick kiss from Noct's lips.

Somehow, straying a little from the traditional side always seems to work for them.

❓ — three adjectives that describe you I'd say (and I've heard others say) creative, kind and caring.

✈️ — ever traveled anywhere interesting? Many places! I love travelling and my parents do too. I am privileged to have travelled a lot. The most interesting to me is Rwanda, where I first went to do a foreign traineeship and after that I have been back twice for holiday. It's a beautiful, healing country and the people are beyond sweet. I've also lost part of my heart to Berlin. It's such a unique city and I feel at home there.

💖 — what was one of the greatest/happiest moments you’ve had in the rpc? One of the greatest moments that I remember is doing research for a character and coming across asexuality. Back then, I didn't know what was "wrong" with me but finally, all the puzzle pieces fell together and it made sense. Ever since, I identify as ace so that's definitely been a great moment. It wasn't too happy at first, because I didn't want to be ace - it felt wrong. But now I do consider it a happy moment because it helped me to identify who I am.

Out of all the beans, who is most like a comfor character? Someone you know you can always draw to feel better or as warm up or when art block hits? 👀

Oh man, this is hard. It's sort of a constant mix of them all! It really depends on what my brain is up to at that moment. They are all my comfort characters, just for different moods at different times!

But when my most brain dead and art blocked, it is any of them with just the shocked Pikachu face. X'D

Like they are amazed I am suddenly trying to draw them and just spawned out of their kitchen silverware drawer shouting "Say cheese!!" X'D

I did get a book of expressions lately to blind grab from for times like this! (I just need to make the little jar to hold some to randomly pick, my brain knows books too well to blind turn a page.)

i'm not sure it would really be considered a routine lol, but wanda has a thing for unwinding and cuddling for aftercare. plus a shower lol. i know it's really basic but these are usually her main things.

13. What was the worst show you've had to color?

I'd say probably The Sandman for both the packs I made for Jenna Coleman and Kirby Howell-Baptiste! I plan to (at some point) re-gif Kirby, as the coloring I did for the show just never sat right with me. Now that I feel like I've improved, I want to redo it (eventually) and do her justice!

9. How did you get started making gif packs?

I feel like many of us started because we wanted to see more gifs of a face we love! I don't remember exactly which face brought me into actually making the time to learn, but I'm grateful to have met gif makers a long the way that had the patience to help me understand and get me to where I am today :-)

23. What FC do you wish had more footage for you to gif?

Oohh, definitely a lot of the Asian faces I've done recently! To name a few: Wasu Pleumsakulthai, Song Luân, Rimah Thanh Vy, and Meii Napassanan. I love their faces so much, even if their screen time was crumbs... I was giffing!

What is your top comfort food? And do you prefer to make it yourself or have someone else make it for you?

I've got a few! ;w;

My most common/easy to obtain top comfort food is mashed potatoes! <3 I just love how soft and warm, and how you can add different amounts of butter and salt/pepper depending on your mood. I've tried to make them myself, but the mashing is sometimes too much for my fibro, so when it comes to that part I prefer someone make it for me. OTL

The more rare/harder to obtain top comfort food is Zoup!! (We call it that, it is actually...uh.. "Slow Cooper Creaming Tortellini Spinach and Chicken"). My brother makes it and I help with cleaning the spinach (I add lots!) and cutting/tearing the chicken! \o/ It's more fun to make it together. It lasts us a few days, and is so good. ;w; I really want some now...

The MOST rare and the HARDEST to obtain top comfort food is our family's perogies. My mom's side of the family used to gather together and make LARGE batches of these for each to bring home. I missed out on joining a lot due to my health problems all my life, but I got to attend once! It was so fun, and they always had a flour fight (or three). Times have changed however, and the big gatherings no longer happen... but thanks to a dear friend (Lua bean! <3 ) I now have a translated copy of the recipe!!! (I can't read mom's side cursive writing, but I do have some of their cooking note books! ;w;)

My brother and me's goal is to carry on the tradition!! We just gotta find the right ingredients near us. Pierogi season was around this time, and we are really missing them...

(Also, don't mind me having multiple comfort foods ;w; Food is good!)
