“ i’m taking back what you’ve taken from me . ”
“You must be crazy. I could say the same thing.” A hand once again outstretched to demand for that 4-carat ring Hel once again attempted to claim as her own, he beckoned her over, though for something else he needed her help with. From looking at all the items she fancied, he gathered her tastes were of quite an exceptional level, and his other hand clasped at the cushioned tray where two pairs of earrings sat, gleaming in all their glory. He was seeing Psyche today - but Hel didn’t need to know that. “Now, give that ring back and tell me...” How would he put this lightly? In the most nonchalant, unassuming way possible? “... which pair is nicer?”

Tsukuyomi would have never imagined himself in a million eternities being here, at total peace just sitting with someone whom his entire heart belonged to. He had expressed before, albeit only to himself, awe and disbelief at Psyche’s ability to relate, to understand, and to accept him fully for who he is, simply by being herself, and although he felt a little reserved and unable to fully display his affection and love towards her, he tried his best to make her feel heard, too.
Which was why he succumbed to whatever she wished on the couch, letting her lean in close as he kept his arms wrapped firmly around her, and when she looked up, his heart ceased to beat for a good moment as he stared into her orbs, admiring a night sky of sparkling wonders within the two beautiful windows.
“Hm?” He hummed into her kiss as she called his name so softly, his hand lifting as she grabbed hold of it and held hers against his cheek. He heard her declaration of love loud and clear. He didn’t respond just yet; sometimes he still found himself surprised at the way she could easily let such strong words slip through her lips without a worry in the world. It wasn’t as though he was worried to tell her that he loved her, to the moon and back. He just... liked to wait, wait until the words push their way out of him when he could no longer hold it in.
Whatever it was that he felt, he was sure the other would feel it anyway.
“Of course I’ll stay. I’ll be here as long as you want me to.”

With all the exciting things, all the crazy events that had been taking place as of late — Psyche figured, and strongly agreed with her own decision that the couple needed a good night at home, together.
Ultimately, Tsukuyomi was her home and wherever they were she always felt it. But tonight, they were at hers and relaxed upon the couch together, cuddled up into one another as they enjoyed the feeling of being held, at least she enjoyed it whenever his arms were wrapped around her frame, holding her near and dear. She hadn’t cooked and instead had takeaway for them which was just as nice as her cooking something up in the kitchen, minus the bit of mess she would have inevitably had to clean up. At least now she could give all of her attention to the one important person in her life.
The television played in a low volume, though enough to hear what was being said. She really wasn’t paying much attention to whatever was on, she was more interested in listening to his heart and mimicking his breathing so here could match his. Psyche carefully lifted her head from his chest so she could stare up at him and smile — thankful every single day that she gets to spend this time together with the love of her life. The love radiated from her, seeped from her pores and into the air for all to see — she smiled again, brighter this time before leaning closely and placing the softest of kisses upon his lips.
He was so precious.
“Tsukuyomi..” she whispered his name against his lips, kissing him one last time before slowly pulling away to tell him something “I love you..” she felt her heart palpitate and her soul sing a happy little tune. “Please..” she spoke in a gentle tone, her husky voice a bit lower as she reached to grab a hold of his hand
“will you stay with me tonight?”

" taste this and tell me what you think! "
Warm sun rays shone through the balcony and sometimes it stung his pale skin a little, but he still felt comfortable and at peace, in the presence of his true love. He became used to arising earlier in the mornings to accommodate Psyche’s schedule as a loving owner of a quaint, homey bakery, and although he still lived in his own apartment, he made sure to make his way to hers every morning.
It appeared to be a simple breakfast stew she was making, and he turned his head slightly in the direction of her husky voice, lips turning upwards into a small smile. He could feel the steam tickling his nose, and he reached over to let the spoon graze against his teeth as he sipped on the liquid slowly. “I really like it,” he responded simply, his tone calm but laced with subtle joy, his hand extending forward to grab onto hers. “Thank you.”

Tsukuyomi looked over his shoulder when a strong pull directed him to divert his attention to the entrance, where a lady in red stepped in, and her silhouette was the only thing that he focused on. It was all a blur, all the faces, all the delicate movements, for the moon wasn't by his side this evening. Yet, like he had always told himself, he was glad he couldn't see his beautiful partner so clearly. He had fantasies about the perfect moment, when they would stand on the balcony in his apartment and watch the sunset together on a full moon night. It was then he would tell her how she felt. "Psyche," he smiled, his breath catching at the way the diamond earrings he gifted her outlined her jawline. "I can't see you very well, but... You look beautiful."
Psyche was beyond excited to have such an opportunity to be out at such an event and with the man who has caught her heart. Such a combination made her happy purely for the whole reason that yet again she was able to give her time to someone who deserved it. As she made her grand entrance, she waved at a few familiar faces before heading straight towards her date for the evening. He was beautiful. Simple attire yet he made simple more beautiful that she could ever herself. “Tsuku” she spoke softly, hands reaching out carefully to take both of his into her own only to squeeze them ever so softly. She couldn’t help but to intertwine their digits as she stood in front of him, blushing a bit. “Thank you… you look.. just wow” — she smiled, her eyes staring into his own deep orbs getting lost. “You’re always handsome” she hummed softly, allowing one of her hands to let go of his hand while the other still held onto him. “Is this okay?” She squeezed his hand so he knew what she was talking about.

... “I’m sorry for not saying much” she admitted, acknowledging the well known fact that she was much quieter than she normally was. “I.. am a little nervous” she chuckled softly at herself. “I want this to be perfect.. for you” she smiled. “Plus.. I can’t stop staring at you.”
Tsukuyomi took the wine glass as it was set before him, his ears following the flow of the wine and the clink of the glass. He was drunk already, from the aroma of the food, the scent of the grapes, and the aura of her. He quickly raised his glass to give a toast, the corner of his lips raised into a small, soft crescent. “It’s already perfect,” he whispered, taking a sip from his glass to calm his raging nerves. The food before him was waiting, and truthfully, as much as he wanted to fully enjoy this special meal prepared with such care, his mind was somewhat elsewhere, wondering how he’d let his overflowing emotions finally release from within him. As he took bites from his plate, his heart was filled with such happiness, a feeling that wasn’t just fleeting, but calm and steady like a flowing stream. Blissfulness came in palpitations the rhythm of his heartbeat, and at that moment, he was so sure it would last forever. The sun began to set, and he could feel the rise of his most loyal companion, in her full glory ready to shine revelation upon him. He put down his tableware and slowly stood up, the darkness within his orbs slowly giving way to a soft, hazy glow as he stepped out onto the balcony. “Psyche,” he turned towards her, knowing that she was there, and that soon, in moments, he would be able to see her in full. “It’s the full moon tonight,” he gestured towards the sky, the sun rays slowly dimming into whirls of crimson and purple. “Want to come out to see it with me?”

Psyche was beyond excited — it showed, not only on her features but she was sure he could almost hear the beating of her heart. Her pulse consuming her, taking hold of her senses and washing over her with a feeling so pure. if anyone brought happiness to her, true happiness to her soul, it was and had been always Tsukuyomi.
“Do you have any special requests for our date tomorrow?” She asked rather curiously, “Any special food requests?” She added. Her eyes were fixated onto his own features as she once again just admired him without him truly noticing her doing so. If only he realized just how much she had allowed her mind to trace his image into her memory, staining her with his touch and voice. Making her want and need him the more she was with him. It had been so long since she had been so inclined to explain and even expose herself with her own feelings. She was slightly terrified for tomorrow, to go further in depth with just how she felt. Every other time she only seemed to always be hurt — and it scared her. But she knew, she simply needed to get this all the way entirely off of her chest and out there into the air between them. She adored him. She loved him. Everything she has learned, everything she has seen — it has lead her towards him, yearning to become close again to someone.
Someone so worthy.
Pysche couldn’t believe how quiet she had become — but it was okay. Even silence shared between the two was never that of an awkwardness. Psyche walked alongside him, arm holding into his own as they welcomed the night air against their skin. It was cool, yet refreshing. “I’m looking forward to tomorrow” she smiled warmly, giving his arm a bit of a squeeze before leaning in and kissing his cheek.
”I dont want tonight to end” she admitted, smiling shyly. “I love being with you“

Psyche was relieved in all honesty — she was relieved and happy and everything else all wrapped up into one tiny being. Another day she gets to see him is another good day to her. He truly was healing her, helping her grow a bit as well. Her heart swelled with happiness as she beamed with a bright smile tugging at both corners of her lips and her eyes slightly pushed upwards into the shape of crescent moons. “Let’s do both” — she hoped she didn’t sound too excited, or overly interested or what was the word she knew the youngsters used; Ahh, clingy. That was just how she was, especially with him. Happy and excited. He was of interest to her — everything he had to offer to her; words of encouragement or little remarks about her baking. Even time spent in silent bliss, she wanted it all. She enjoyed it all. Again though, she casually brushed it off, ignoring her heart yelling at her about the strong pull she felt towards the other. But she knew soon enough she would have to divulge these feelings she was keeping within herself to him, he deserved to know what she felt towards him. But in due time will that happen.
With eyes focused down, she reached for his hands and gently held onto them for a moment, giving them a tight squeeze. “Shall we meet at the bakery? Or would you like to just meet here?” she hummed softly “either place is fine with me..” she kept her gaze focused in on his hands — she always felt you could tell a lot about a person by their hands, it too being one of the simplest ways for her to gain entrance to ones subconscious and learn about them, their secrets, everything. As they sat there more movie clips of his life played in the back of her head clearly and loudly — aspects of his life shown to her, actions he would not want to discuss. Sometimes she wished she couldn’t see things every time she had contact with another; though she wouldn’t change the fact that the things he’s experienced in life lead them to the path now where she knows him, it was her gift nonetheless and most the time it was a blessing. It was a blessing to be able to heal such a kind soul hidden within. Her heart beat raced slightly — eyes closing as she inhaled a breathe and picked over certain things in which she hoped would ease any pain he felt from his past. It was the least she could do, it was what she wanted to do. To her, he was worthy of more than the pain and betrayal. He was worth the love and kindness and everything in between. He was worth the world.
She gave his hands another squeeze. “Tsuku..” she looked up at him, smiling even though she knew he couldn’t see. “Thank you.. for simply being you with me” she very slowly leaned in and placed a soft kiss against his cheek — Soon she found her face hot and she knew it was red, her palms a little sweaty and her heart skipping a beat. “Im really looking forward to more time with you.” She admitted, hoping he knew that it was important to her.

Tsukuyomi had met Psyche, and wondered why he had never met someone like her ever before. Ever since his arrival on the island, he had been making new discoveries of other pantheons and their cultures and deities. Never had he thought he would be broadening his network so much; he never thought he’d meet a goddess like Psyche. In his culture, one endures and hides one’s own pain. There are many deities in Japan. Seemingly a deity for everything, everything existed, all but a deity for the soul. Exactly that Psyche embodied, for she seemed to be able to look straight through his soul, and with a touch healed him, bit by bit. He couldn’t say he had overcome his pain and trauma fully, yet he found himself longing for her presence more and more. Tsukuyomi was subservient, once, but never reliant – and this prospect left so many uncertainties. Yet he still welcomed her into his private office, a warm smile spreading across his features, eyes darting around to try and search for the right place to rest his nonexistent gaze. He always enjoyed her treats, and expectantly, his ears perked, ready to listen to today’s recipe. He was met, however, with silence. He rarely lamented over his lack of vision anymore, but now he did, as he had no idea what was happening and why she had suddenly stopped in her tracks. In a moment of panic he reached out to pull her closer, palm pressing against her back, holding his breath to listen to her breathing. Except that exposed his heavily beating heart, so instead he cleared his throat lightly. “Are you alright?” He murmured, his other hand stroking her hair, only stopped when she pulled away, with a thank you that he didn’t quite understand. Why was she thanking him? He should be the one thanking her. “Don’t be silly,” he chuckled, eyes still staring off into nothingness. He’d never seen her before, but he was so sure she was beautiful on the outside, just as much as she was on the inside.

Psyche could feel the happiness build in the air around them — not only from herself, but it too radiated from Tsukuyomi like a bright light. She could see and feel what he felt — she was so connected to him that she only simply had to be near him and no longer touching him to be overwhelmed with what he was feeling. She never really thought about it before, how they were drawn together so easily, as if the fates had this whole scheme planned out where they knew that the two of them needed to be together. Because now — more so than ever before, he was her home.
Her eyes flickered up from the plate that she had been picking at and stared at him with gentle eyes — of course she enjoyed her own food, however she was so nervous to make things perfect for tonight. Perfect enough to confess her undeniable love for him. She just needed to figure out the right time to go forward with it. She felt so nervous. But she knew, deep down — these nerves shall pass and nothing but good will come from this all.
There was no reason that this wouldn’t work out.
She had faith in the love she held for him.
Psyche hummed softly, lower lip slowly hiding behind her teeth as she listened to him speak. Oh how she could get lost listening to him speak always — his voice so beautiful and addictive, warm and cozy. Perfect. She followed him closely as he lead her towards the balcony — her body came to a stop, eyes focused on the sky as he spoke of the full moon. She had always loved the night time, the moon in the sky and all the beautiful stars that accompanied it. It was gorgeous. Psyche couldn’t help but to smile and reach over, taking ahold of his hand and intertwining their fingers as she looked back towards him. “Of course I’ll come see the moon”
She squeezed his hand gently as she closed a bit of space that was between them, her head gently resting against his chest as she halfway hugged him close. The sun rays slowly, but surely fading away to a darker set of colors that kissed the sky above. It was nearly over with — darkness would soon envelope the sky in a soft blanket of stars and the moon would soon shine brightly over them. What a perfect time to confess to him, right?

Her dark obsidian hues fixed on his face soon lowered to look at his hand held out mid air, waiting for her to take it and guide him through. She had almost forgotten that this was the first time he has actually been to her home — their time together had always, up until now, had been in locations he was more familiar with. Psyche simply smiled to herself and extended her hand out and took ahold of his and laced their fingers together before leading him through her home. She couldn’t believe the ease that washed over her the moment she had his hand in her own. She wasn’t sure how exactly he so easily made himself an important figure in her life, how he had become a feeling of calmness and comfort and home all wrapped into one.
He had her heart and she didn’t want it back.
“Of course I made dinner..” she spoke softly, still holding his hand as she lead him further into her home. She hadn’t really had many visitors over, but she was happy that he agreed to come there to spend time with her in such an intimate setting. “I wasn’t sure what to make.. so I really hope what I have is perfectly fine with you” — she chuckled softly, leaning against him for just a moment to enjoy a brief moment of closeness before she helped him to get a little more comfortable at the dining room table. “I hope you know that I can’t thank you enough for actually coming..” she smiled to herself, her heart full of hope that this could definitely be a recurring thing for the future; their future.
“So thank you..” she squeezed his hand lovingly and lead him towards the table and chair where she settled him in “thank you for making my life obviously so much better” — she felt her cheeks immediately burn, knowing full well that she was blushing. Psyche smiled again, leaning down to kiss his cheek before leaving his side to grab the food that was already done and sat the plate down in front of him and then another where she would be sitting. “Tonight.. I have made steak au poivre with fried potatoes and for dessert I have a simple vanilla cake with fruit toppings, and to drink, I have whatever you want... i made sure I was prepared” — she smiled. “It seemed only perfect since this is a special occasion”

Psyche was beyond excited for this date — though excitement was mixed with a bit of nervousness and she felt it rush over her entire being. She knew she didn’t need to feel like that, she was safe and happy with Tsukuyomi. In all actuality, this date, like the others wouldn’t be any different. Except for the little bit of information she would be leaking for him to know. “I hope this goes well..” she spoke to herself in a soft tone as she touched up her makeup and wandered back into her kitchen where she did a once over of the layout of food. Steak — and vegetables to the side with of course some pastries to sweeten up the mood later on.
She hoped he liked it.
Psyche was determined that tonight would be the night she finally lets it all out and into the air between them — she needed to let him know just how much he has actually captured her heart. She was completely and totally all his without question or even a bit of hesitation. Tonight was finally the time where she could officially open herself up more than she has already and hope for nothing but the best.
Knocking. He was here! Psyche smiled to herself and made the short walk from the kitchen and through the hallway until she stood in front of the door. Slowly, she twisted the knob and opened it up — eyes immediately catching his. And all at once the nervousness that had previously enveloped her had disappeared the very moment she laid her eyes upon him. “There you are” she casually spoke before stepping closer to him and wrapping her arms around his frame for a welcoming hug. “You look handsome, as always” she complimented and smiled, her hand reaching out to take his own and to pull him indoors with her. She had missed him in the short amount of time apart, but she couldn’t say that just yet — missing him was part of her big spill that would be coming later after dinner.
“Come in.. let’s get settled in”

This gentle hold soon turned into a full embrace, and Tsukuyomi’s limbs stiffened momentarily at this foreign touch, a touch he hadn’t felt in millennia. He didn’t dislike this at all, yet he was taken aback by this sudden change occurring within himself, and the more he longed for Psyche’s presence, the more torn he felt deep inside. How should he begin to describe how he felt? Tsukuyomi stayed put and let her hold onto him for as long as she liked, and although he didn’t return the touch any more than what he thought was appropriate, he had to admit that he enjoyed it. He wondered how Psyche thought of him, and how she saw their friendship, and whether she also wanted to know more and more about him, the way he wanted to know more about her. “I hope today’s a better day,” he smiled, letting her pull away from him, and let her tend to her pastries. Psyche always put in so much effort to describe how they looked, and hearing that she used her favorite fruit to depict the night sky made his heart skip a beat. His hands welcomed the slight touch of hers as she handed the tart to him, letting the soft weight of it sit in his hands for a few moments before holding it up to smell the fruity berries in the pastry. Sometimes, he worried about the things she saw within him. He wasn’t kind nor gentle, and incredibly invested in his personal rules, he had killed many in hopes of enforcing his beliefs upon others. To him, there was nothing beautiful about what was inside of him. Yet here she was, telling him that his opinion mattered, and he took it as an honor of a lifetime; what had he done to deserve this? He took a bite out of the tart, and let the distinct flavor of blueberries burst in his mouth. Abiding strictly by the cultural rules of his land, he would not offer any sort of feedback other than praises. Yet for her, and in order to fulfill her wishes fully, he broke his principles for the very first time. “I like it a lot. The texture and freshness of the fruit is amazing. But I would prefer it to be a little less sweet.”

Psyche wasn’t sure if he would stop her and slip away from the hug, but whenever he didn’t she was happy. It was odd, truly — Ever since she had first laid her eyes upon the man she had felt this strong tugging sensation that drew her in to him, making her want to know as much as she possibly could. She can remember the day he walked into the shop and laid her eyes upon him, it was odd because she’s never had a pull to someone that felt that strong; she just went with it. Through touch though and being blessed as the Goddess of the soul, she has seen different aspects of his life in just mere seconds play out before her like little clips of a movie. She had seen the sadness, the betrayal and had felt it all too much herself and wanted to take it away from him. Little by little she was taking her time to do just that and to heal a hurt soul and bring some sort of happiness to him. Be it with simple interaction everyday, then she would do it. What he didn’t know though was that he was sort of healing her as well — the little time spent together made her days feel different; a good different.
Her lips again curled into a smile as she nodded her head, knowing full well he couldn’t see her do these little actions but she was sure he could tell from the way she acted towards him, or at least she had hoped so “Well.. if you could see me now, you would see a really big smile and that’s all because of you... so today, it’s definitely getting better. Thank you” — She took a little step back and watched him take a bite and actually enjoy her little creation. Psyche beamed, but soon her expression became serious and she listened intently for the delivery of his much anticipated feedback.
“Less sweet.. I’ll make sure to take a mental note of that for the next time I make it” — she was glad he was being fully honest with her, that’s all shes ever really asked for from the people around her and he was giving it to her.
“Tsuku..” she hummed softly, grabbing a napkin that sat on the table only to carefully bring it up and wipe away a little smidge of the tart that lingered on his delicate skin. “If you were saving that for later, I’m sorry..” she teased in a playful tone while she bundled the napkin up and sat it back down on the table, she’d return to it later to toss it out. She turned her head to face him again, her gaze staring over his facial features for what to her felt like the millionth time by now — She felt like she had memorized every little detail there was to know about his face. Psyche snapped herself back to reality and smiled small “I really hope you know that I like you, your company..” she nodded. She was never the best with her feelings, but she was trying her best.
“I was hoping maybe we could do something tomorrow?” She swore she could feel her heart beating a little faster than normal, her fingers twiddling a bit as she was a little nervous to even ask him to come with her anywhere. “It can be during the day or night.. I freed myself up for the entire day” She nipped at her bottom lip, the skin hiding behind her teeth as she continued to fiddle with her fingers. “Dinner maybe?”

The calming silence between them, even after the soft declaration of love she so easily voiced out loudly was nothing less than pure and genuine. She could feel that the same feelings burned within him without him ever having to say the words out loud to her — Psyche was happy to simply be in his presence, sharing small moments of happiness and tender memories with him that she was sure would never cease making her smile. She couldn’t help but to smile whenever he spoke finally, agreeing to stay with her. “You know I always want you to stay” — she chuckled softly, her hand carefully coming up to caress his cheek ever so softly before falling back to where they originally resided.
She enjoyed that she didn’t have to say too much whenever she was with him — instead it gave her plenty of time to simply watch and learn whatever she possibly could from him. She could learn of the little things that he would do, taking mental notes of things he seemed to have a certain dislike for. She tried her absolute best to observe everything that she possibly could.
“Mmm, so tell me.. have you been feeling alright as of late?” She asked curiously, knowing full well that things have been a bit hectic for both of them if truth be known. She had been a bit distracted as of late and away, but never too far away where she felt it would upset him. “I’m sorry I haven’t been around as much lately.. things, as you know, have been a bit crazy at the bakery… trying to simply figure out new things” she felt bad, even mentioning her being away a bit. But at the same time, she didn’t want to suffocate him with her presence always being there. She was always so worried that she was doing or could do something to compromise the happiness she’s worked towards today with him.
“You know that no matter what, I’m here for you though” she smiled warmly, her head again resting on his shoulder as she cuddled in close. “And that you’re honestly.. the best thing to happen to me” she smiled even more, playfully nudging him with her arm before sighing happily. She tried her best to make him smile — because in his smile she saw a forever that looked glorious.
Home | Psyche & Tsukuyomi
@mpxtsukuyomi 🖤
