➳ for a coffee shop au
1. Minseok had been working in the coffee shop for some time, maybe a year or so. Ever since he became a college student. But in the last few weeks he had noticed a girl coming more frequently to the shop, she always ordered something different. Her appereance became more frequent until the day the staff was told that she was a new addition to the team. They explained that she had been transfered from another shop, under the same label, due to her moving. Her coming in and out of the coffee shop was merely a way to get a chance to talk with the manager and such. Boyeon was thrilled to be working again. Although she wasn’t the best barista, and was clumsy more often than not. She liked her job, she was one of the few that didn’t complain when they got cleaning duty. The day she was introduced to the others one person stood out, Minseok. Later on, when they were alone and he offered his help if she ever needed it, she asked: “Have we meet before? You look oddly familiar.”

2. She’s beauty and happiness. They title her daughter of an angel. That angel was ethereal, shiny, sparkling, immortal. As the daughter of such an angel she has abilities, abilities like no other. When she smiles the room lits up, those around her are bound to feel joy and giddiness. It’s something she does without control, whether it’s due to her powers or her actual personality - well, that’s up to you to figure out. Minseok is sunlight, creation; well he’s the son of creation. Within him a certain spark flows that enables him to create small creatures, creatures of light that are only loyal to him, Hathor and Ra unite. Boyeon is the daughter of Hathor, the egyptian goddess of love and happiness. She’s protective and caring, sociable and lovable. Her powers don’t stand out but she’s never been one with much greed for that anyway. Minseok is the son of Ra, the egyptian god of creation. He has his own charm, timid but like a snail - always moving, always doing something. He creates objects and creatures Boyeon loves, together they form a perfectly balanced duo. He is different, he isn’t charmed by power but rather how mundane Boyeon is. They are in love.

3. Born in a family that held similar powers as her, Boyeon never felt out of place. It was in her DNA. Her hands were able to call the soil, use it and manipulate it at will. His hands were cold and sweaty, a mixture of shyness and anxiety. Unlike her he could drown away things. With a swift movement he would call for currents. They complemented each other. Ever since young they lived near, their families were rivals yet they weren’t. Whenever a new trick was discovered by either of them, they would show it to each other -which more often than not lead to chaos-. As years passed they were registered on a speciall school. A boarding school for those similar to them. The school was divided by elements. Fire, water, air and earth. Plus the category of those who didn’t have one or didn’t know yet. Boyeon fell into the category of earth while Minseok was quickly moved to water. Their categories, houses if you wanted to call them that, weren’t enemies like fire and water was but still, rivalry was showed. These two broke away the stereotype, their hand holding, whispering and ever growing friendship led to many to stop saying crude comments when they were near. Her family didn’t quite agree on it, water wasn’t seemed as an opposing element. It wasn’t more powerful than earth. Yet she didn’t mind. Together they made life, they developed their powers as their spark blossomed. They shared their dreams and silently, Boyeon shifted hers so they could walk a similar path.

1. Over the years Boyeon had looked forward their meeting. Ever since she turned two she has been engaged with him. Or maybe since birth. It was hard to know the true origin of their connection now, years after the decision. It happened before his father passed away. Their family, the Hwang name, they had some land and power on their hands that Boyeon’s family wanted. While the Boyeon family let them take charge, as the boy was Minseok he will be the ruler. Neither of them came from all powerful families, it wasn’t like the Queen Elizabeth linage. They could defend themselves, of course. But things kept getting harder, politics was more brutal than ever and the two families seeked help on one another. The solution for their worries was to get their kids engaged. The oldest sister of Boyeon had always been married off, now it was her turn. At the mere age of sixteen they reunite. The kids had first meet when they were young, toddlers. Boyeon and Minseok had a great chemistry, she was the one that lead their meetings, always playful and upbright. But he followed well. Since they were young there was no problem with their engagement, no opinion to prospone it. Now they were older, he was the same age as her. They would live under the same roof until he turned seventeen or eighteen. It all depended on the situation and how desperate their families were. Of course Boyeon was never aware of this. She believed that they were going to fall in love, to live a happy life. After they were reunited, everything seemed like usual. Like back when they had the age of eight. Usually girls would have been married off at the age of fifteen but because they were born in the same year they had to wait.Summary, this au is pretty similar to the story of Francis and Mary of Reign (think first season or first two idk) because I thought it was fitting.
2. In the modern era, reigns were different. The respect that was forced back then was tiggling. Wavering. A nineteen year old Boyeon has just gotten home from her lessons. They kept prepping her with economic class, everything business related. Unlike the years of their family origin, the women could know get involved with business, even if their partner was alive and well. Her sister, the eldest, was engaged and just a few days away from getting married. Boyeon didn’t seek for a marriage but for a business of her own. She wasn’t interested in a large wedding but on the boy that stood feet away from her. His mother, the head chef in their household, was away talking with her mother about the preparations this meant that they were alone. He was cutting some vegetables while she sat on the countertop looking at him. “You’re oddly quiet today.” She says, feet moving as she leaned her head towards him. “Do you want me to help? You don’t have to do it all by yourself.” Boyeon never trespassed the lines, however three days ago her father had scolded Minseok. Apperently they were standing to close, which was Boyeon’s fault for being playful. Ever since he had been a bit more quiet and distant. She didn’t let it show but she was quite upset. Nothing of her future was set in stone, not marriage or the business she so desperately wanted to develop. If she had to choose for something though, it would probably be him. “I’m sorry you got told off. It was all my fault. Are you.. upset with me?”
