It’s quite unlike Natalie to stare. Really, the blonde was much more of the “ take in and move on ” school of thought. It had lead her this far ( to an inspection of damages done, because lawyer was still apparently her day job, despite the hours she put into Cylon Tech Educational ), it would take her even farther.
So Natalie does not want to stare exactly, but when put in front of another robot with the same sentience as she has ( or at least some form of sentience ), it stirs something in her — the part of her who does not want to feel alone, the part who is so used to telling people ( humans ) that her beliefs and ethics and morals and soul were REAL, the part who believed robots deserved far more choice and credit than they were given. She knows the other robot is not here because of her or her work ( she is owed nothing, in the grand scheme of things and in particular cases ), but there is still something almost heartwarming about it.
Head tilts as she tries to muster up all the information she can from the data bases she has loaded, but she comes up mostly empty. This is not a technology she has encountered before ( not the same technology that made her, all flesh and data bases and cloud-based artificial intelligence ), nor a design which makes sense to her — But it’s a start.
❝ Are you alright ? How long have you been here ? ❞ ‘ What data bases do you run on ? ’ and other questions which did not appear respectful enough for a first meeting were left unsaid.

❝ What did you say these were called ? ❞ He hadn’t, really, but Natalie’s eyes are carefully examining the new piece of technology in front of her, rolling along on the floor ( sentient, living, everything the Cylons had tried to accomplish ). For someone meant to have access to virtually everything, being thrust into a brave new world by the fleet she and the other Cylons had joined was refreshing. There were so many things to learn, so many possibilities. The glee on her features was foreign, but genuine.
If the humans did not settle here, she might — but that might entail leaving her peers behind, and as much as Natalie wanted to, this was too much of a sacrifice to even consider. They’d fought so much and still had a long way to go, and it’d feel unfair and immoral to leave before they had.
❝ And are you sure there’s nothing I can do to help ? ❞ She wanted to help, genuinely. She hadn’t undone herself of her guards ( Marines. protecting her from the world and protecting the world against her. She understood their use, but it felt demeaning to still be mistrusted now ) to stay idle.

When Phoenix finds her, Natalie is sighing. Her right hand is slowly massaging the space between her eyebrows as she is staring at a computer screen. She has been working over time, lately, including in the coffee shop she was sat in right now, on a week end. This is not what her programming had been made for. Being able to know virtually anything about a topic did not make it any less complex or complicated, and she needed to get this right. This pro bono worked relied on feelings and perceptions. People were counting on her. Too much was at stakes here for her to mess up because she was not a people’s person.
Tired eyes look up to Phoenix as she remembers to grab her ( sorely empty ) coffee mug and try to drink from it ( better luck next time ). ❝ How do you do it ? ❞ Hands vaguely gesture at —— well, at everything. This was not even about work, not really.
