greece truly had become a second home to them, it didn’t feel like a vacation spot or a getaway anymore. it was angels homeland and it felt just as warm as new york. and xander loved it there, it was exciting for this little toddler. marnie sitting on the floor as xander helped her pick out his outfit to see his grandmother. marnie doing up his sneakers as she hears angel pop into the room behind her, lifting xander up on to her hip as she turns to face him. reaching up to press a little kiss to angels lips, marnie using one hand to fix at his hair as she pulled back.  “you wanna show daddy what you helped mummy pick to wear today?” she asked before xander is opening his arms to show off his calvin klein jumper and black jeans. he grabs the bottom of the jumper as if to show it off closer for angel,  “is like daddys,” baby voice as he spoke to his father. @ofangelos

a couple of hours went by, the dusty coloured sky settled over and turned a navy so dark it was reminiscent of blackness. streetlights glowing on the pavement as she drove back home, Xander and Alessandra out cold from the gentle movement of the car. she sat at the steering wheel whilst parked in the driveway for a while, she wasn’t good at fighting everyone knew that. she took everything personally and had a sensitive heart despite the way she portrayed herself to the outside world. she took in deep breaths, wiping under her eyes because she cried all the time it was nothing new. she walked from the car to the house, the clicking of her high heels on the wooden floor as she stood at the entry way of the living area eyeing off a calmer angel.  “can you help me bring in xan and aless?” her voice gentle. @ofangelos

she’s laying on the couch in an over sized shirt and...that’s it because nothing else was comfortable at this point. she knew she was carrying their baby girl full term, all marnis vitals seemed better this time around to not have a premature labour. but this was ridiculous. “this baby has been in me for 400 years,” she groans putting her hands on her face,  “oh my god please get out,” it was about the time full term mark. doctors saying she could go into labour tomorrow, next week, it really depended on the baby.  her back was sore, her feet were sore, her head was sore, her hips were sore....everything was sore.  “oh my god,” another frustrated hiss as she struggles to sit up,  “get off my bladder,” complains the blonde fighting to get up from the couch.  “baby i need help getting up,” it’s whined out as she makes grabby hands for angel. @ofangelos

everything. every single god damn thing that was meant to encourage birth they had tried and not one single thing was working. 2am, wide awake not be able to get comfortable and all she can think about is the impending doom of being pregnant for the rest of her life. dramatic? yes but this is marnie.  she maybe got an hours worth of sleep, tired and grumpy and frustrated as she laid scrolling her phone. everything ached, she was hot even though the air was on, she was so angry she was ready to cry. that’s when she felt a shifting in the bed beside her. ‘you did this to me’ is all she can think in the heat of her frustration. of course she wanted their daughter, she wanted a big family and she loved angel more than anything in the world she was just bitter this pregnancy was lasting so long. it felt twice as long as xander.  then he hit her with the ritual,  ‘you still pregnant?’. “yes angel very, very pregnant,” she said in an almost snap before struggling to push herself up from the bed. gripping and pushing til she was sat up right, trying to figure out a way on to her feet and that’s when it happened. her water broke. “oh my god,” she almost screams, reaching back for angel,  “it worked, it worked,” she’s excited, she’s kinda yelling, she’s got tears in her eyes.  @ofangelos

it was a good thing angel could cook because marnie could not. sure she had learnt a few things since being a mother because she needed to but it was nothing like what her husband could whip up in a kitchen. and with xander down for his nap she leaned on the counter watching angel prep the ingredients.  “okay but hear me out,” was she nervous to learn how to cook? yes. because growing up she wasn’t a fast learner and she was always treated like an annoyance that should couldn’t grasp things as fast as other kids.  “we hire a private chef instead....” @ofangelos

they’d tried and they’d tried and they’d tried......then they tried again.  nothing worked, they just weren’t falling pregnant this time. marnie could’ve sworn it was so much easier with xander. maybe it was her putting so much stress on herself. she was worrying and overthinking being off of her medication and overthinking every emotion and everything she said. she was putting every ounce of pressure on herself to fall pregnant and she just wasn’t. after endless supplies of at home pregnancy tests, hoping and praying for a positive it just seemed like an inevitable no.  so they stopped trying, at at least actively trying because that didn’t stop them from acting like horny teenagers.  over the last few weeks she’d felt slightly off, sick?? maybe?? like here was an anxious flutter in her tummy. but she knew she had a check in with her doctor so she ignored it. it wasn’t like she was expecting to be pregnant anyway. but at her routine visit she mentioned it to him. and it was a deep conversation, urine and blood test later that she was sitting in his office with new that shook her to her core. she didn’t believe it. rather, she couldn’t believe it. okay maybe she shouldn’t have gotten home as quick as she did but the excitement was running through her. she felt whole, she felt happy, she felt proud. she came in through the doors of the front of their house, eyes scanning as she moved through to find him.  “Angel?!” she called out wondering upstairs only to find him focused in his office/studio room. her eyes bright as she saw him sitting there. @ofangelos

she knew angel wasn’t a fan of his birthday, she was entirely aware that he wanted to pretend this was any other day. that’s why she tread lightly around celebrating it, that being said this was her husband and this was the love of her life --she wanted to celebrate him. so she did it in way that wasn’t too overt. no big party or balloons or outlandishness. she bought a few gifts which were wrapped beside his side of the bed and she was in the kitchen fetching a cup of coffee for him. just the way he liked it.   oh, okay, one missing thing sure. she knew how much he loved the colour red on her so there she was laced up in red lingeré and high heels, robe loosely hung around her body. but then again, marnie wasn’t shy when it came to looking sexy for her man. he just deserved it a little extra today.  she walked back upstairs, cracking their bedroom door open and peaking in to see him. this little smile on her face as she walked to his side of the bed. a groggy angel barely awake as marnie placed the coffee on the bedside table.  “good morning baby,” she says climbing on to the bed, straddling his hips as she leans to press soft kisses along his jawline.  “happy tuesday,” she’d avoid saying happy birthday if he didn’t wanna hear it. after all, she wanted him happy and comfortable.  @ofangelos

the way angel had responded to her had rubbed her the wrong way, she just couldn’t focus on anything else she had to do while she was out because she just kept over thinking and replaying his replies in her head. and everyone knew how petty marnie was so the second she was arriving home and coming through the doors she didn’t even greet angel. it was straight through the house and up to their bedroom, heels clicking a littler heavier on the floor because she’s a toddler apparently. shutting their bedroom door behind her and tossing her things down on to the bed. @ofangelos
