Leon S. Kennedy was driving down the road while looking ahead and checking the radio hearing nothing. He was sent here for a mission after the last one he's done a few years ago. He got reports of survivors maybe still trapped in a new zombie infested area. Wasting no time, he was driving fast to get to the city and hopes he was not too late. The drive wasn't too long but he hopes to make it in time.

A simple question yet one that bothered him beyond just the shallow itch beneath tawny flesh, stretched taut over marred tissue from reconstruction so long ago. It was an easy one to answer and yet it left his throat dry, left him feeling sick the longer Luis allowed himself to dwell upon it, dwell upon the concern that laced the American's features and for a second the wants to deflect, make some stupid joke to really truly downplay the effect Leon's question had, downplay his own thoughts because in a way, the blonde was right.

Nobody would care for Luis the same way he cared for others, it wasn't their jobs, hell even he didn't want to care for some of those who acted as stubborn as he was and for another second he really truly thinks about his life, what led him to this point. He'd wanted to be angry, God he wanted to scream and yell and demand Leon get the hell out of his business but that wouldn't be right because he didn't want Leon to leave his life, wanted to share his business with the man, he'd promised himself he'd share everything with the agent, including the ugly inside things.

“ What... What if I don't want anybody to take care of me, amigo? I don't deserve it but... I know what you're trying to hint at. ” A soft sigh, he feels utterly pathetic, miserable in a sense as he remembers those cerulean eyes that haunted his memories gazing upon him in wrathful concern, something he'd deserved given that look only happened when he pushed himself past his body's limits. “ I can't make any promises Leon... Just... I'll try to take better care of myself if it'll help you worry about me less, leave your thoughts open for better images of me eh? ”

Perhaps he shouldn't have deflected last minute but being open, vulnerable and acknowledging his faults? That was new, it was utterly terrifying but he didn't mind it, not so long as the other person looking at his dulled silver gaze was Leon, so long as it was only the American that got to experience what made Luis tick, who the Spaniard truly was and not just his persona. He wants to try, to be better and do better by Leon at the very least because it's no longer just the doctor's life being messed up and lonesome if he keeps playing his games.

"you make it sound like we haven't done this multiple times," leon teases, a little grin on his lips as he buttons up his shirt. he's trying his hardest to keep the lightness in the air, not wanting to ruin the moment, but in the back of his mind, he can't help but wonder if her statement had double meaning. their meetings were far from consistent between their increasingly busy schedules and there were even times when they could meet that leon just...couldn't. he would make up an excuse and drown himself in a bottle by himself somewhere, trying to quiet the monsters that haunted him even when he was "safe" (or whatever version of safe the world was).

shirt buttoned, he crosses the room and gently takes her face in his hands, pressing his lips to hers. "just tell me when and where." and we'll see if we can make it work.
