     “Yeah, I’m a villain, not a burglar. Even when I snuck into your house all that time ago, it’s ‘cause I found your spare key.” A creepy thing to admit, he knew all too well, but it was an explanation nonetheless.

     Rob continued to try fiddling with the lock, having absolutely NO idea what he was doing, but paused when he heard the scraping of claw against glass, looking over just as Gumball finished carving the hole in the window. “...That’ll do.”

     He proceeded to carefully climb in through the new hole, then turned to look at Gumball through it with a furrowed brow, fingers resting along the edge. “Are you absolutely, positively sure you want to tag along?” he asked, no doubt for the umpteenth time since they decided to head here.

     Rob had eventually figured the best start to finding a solution to this literal apocalyptic problem was to track down the very van he’d gotten that remote from - not for that item specifically, but just for anything that might be useful. Unfortunately, as it seemed, there were some citizens - some who’d formed very strong & very negative opinions about their current situation - that were, as silly as it sounded, holding the vehicle hostage - undoubtedly searching for the same thing as them. & while Rob knew well that this wasn’t the ugliest situation Gumball had been through, he still asked only because he didn’t want the other to get hurt - especially not for a plan the cyclops suggested.
