THE SOLDIER SIMPLY NODS AND SHRUGS HIS SHOULDERS, RELOADING THE GUN AS IF IT WERE SECOND NATURE. He had simply nabbed it from the detective when he had noticed those... things were approaching an unknowing Joseph from behind-- mere moments away from a surprise attack. Leaning in close to him, he slides the gun back into its rightful holster.

Though his electronic voice does not convey emotion, it is clear that his words are genuine. It would be a pity if he lost the only thing that he knows for certain is real and true, in a world that seems so twisted and warped.

joseph looks at him, they're close⸻ and he makes a mental note of that. he listens, heartfelt by his words and his actions, as his actions spoke louder than his electronic words. the detective was grateful for him, yet felt guilty for not paying attention. “ thank you then, and i-- no, you're right there. i apologize for my negligence... ”

with the gun in his possession, joseph smiles a little. “ next time i won't. it's hard not to write things down though while we're here. ” he pulls out his notepad. “ but next time, i'll double-check my surroundings before doing anything else. i have to remember we're in unknown territory. ”
