since my poll has literally everyone telling me to post spoilers , here we gooooo -

this knowledge is very hidden . your muse does not know anything about this . vis goes to great lengths to see that this is kept secret . she has revealed this to a few select people that she trusts , because if this knowledge gets out , she can very well lose everything & risk death .

vis has a deformed arm , her right arm is half the size of her left . it only has three fingers ( the thumb , pointer & middle ) with no real palm form . it is strange for a vhae ninu ( trans : sea foam / a vyotous not of natural birth ) to be deformed since they are copies of elves & humans . what's stranger is that @necroecho , her Other , has both of his arms .

she has hidden this since the early days of her kingdom & has destroyed any evidence of her deformity many years ago . vis uses a prosthetic arm that looks like an over - sized doll arm . with the use of illusion magic & her gravity manipulation she has made it look & act like a real arm . she is unsure why her arm is deformed when her other is fine : her theory is that upon creation her shadow was cut off by a tree or something . another is that getseigeist , being a man of magic , attempted to stop his shadow from being taken but was only able to save a small piece , resulting in her malformed arm . she has no real answer .

no one is allowed to know , not even lovers . she will try to best to keep it secret , choosing to keep up the illusion magic even if its draining . eventually she will tell her lovers if they plan to bed her & she can't keep up her magic during that anymore . with someone having this knowledge , she views it as them having a loaded gun pointed to her head . she will pay you or even take you out if you cross her because of this weapon they hold ... even if the person reasures her they will not speak of it . she cannot risk everything she has on a simple promise .

her arm is her arcane focus as well . without it , she cannot cast magic as she has difficulties without a focus point to cast out of . it is not uncommon for non - mage vyotous to struggle with this . she will lie & say it is her rings on her middle fingers that are her focus when asked .

bonus : she paints the small nails on her little arm black like the rest of her nails :) they get to match .

in modern she has those really expensive prosthetic that got like robot bits in it so it moves to her brain waves & shit . she is never seen without it until for a bath , bed time , or she forgot to charge it .

tw , self harm :

she does claw & cut at her shoulder & what little of the arm there is out of self hate . small scars dot her right shoulder , some fresh & some old .
