WALLY’S  SEEN  HIM  AROUND ,  PINK  ALWAYS  NOTEWORTHY  ——  least harmful  ——  not for a lack of presence ,  though most pinks are overlooked regardless ,  mere  COMPARTMENTALIZATION ,  this name  (  mick ?  nick ?  something  )  &  face filed under nonthreatening somewhere in the back of his mind .

however ,  it’s not the  PINK  that draws him near today ;  no ,  it’s the splash of  PURPLE  &  GRAY  mottling the skin around his eye .  own steps tiptoe closer ,  as if the air itself might shatter beneath their tread ,  before he deems himself close enough to speak .  ❝  ... what happened to your  FACE ?  ❞
