Somewhere along the story, their positions switched: Snafu used to be the veteran that lead and teach Sledge. Suddenly, he became the followers, attached to Eugene's every move.

When did that happen? I always find Sledge and Snafu's shifting dynamic so interesting. They go on the same path, yet their directions are at odd, stringing toward destruction (for Eugene) or salvation (for Snafu). They are each other's crutch, the compass's point, yet their respective role at some point reversed and they became each other.

it's so nice living with roommates.

* wakes up early & i leave my room every morning & smell the bacon grease from his breakfast. i come into the kitchen & see the pan still sitting on the stove. he'll come out of his room & make another coffee while i step out for my morning cigarette.

* is as nocturnal as i am, every night we stand in the kitchen for hours just taking about anything. after we go into our rooms i can smell weed & his peppermint body wash through the vents.

i've never lived in a home without violence. even when i was on my own. i never thought i'd have comfort in sharing my existence in my living space with others. i'm grateful to have this experience, & saddened to know we don't be able to live together forever. i can only hope whoever may enter my home in the future coexists as peacefully as we all do.
