even after so many experiments and trials over so many years, the pure excitement from discovering something new never seemed to fade. gone was his normal reserved nature, replaced with something bubbly and loud. ❝ it’s worked! we’ve done it! ❞ the exclamation wasn’t something that was needed -- robbie was right there next to him. still, he turned to the man, almost looking as if he would repeat himself. instead, he eagerly pulled the taller man into a kiss. it didn’t take long to process what he had just done, eyes wide and mouth ajar. 

❝ i-i’m s-so -- oh newton -- i-i’m so sorry! ❞ hands moved from the man’s chest. ❝ i d-don’t know what’s come over me! ❞ he wouldn’t blame robbie if he chose to slap him -- he would deserve it. ( gosh, what did he do now? ) all he could manage was remaining frozen in place, incoherent stammers practically flooding out of his mouth. was there anything he could say that would help? ❝ i sh-should’ve hugged you instead. ❞ that wasn’t helpful.
