i love dawn and willows relationship like- so much. So honestly one of the things i spend most time thinking about is like times theyve bonded in the fake memories.

you want examples? well, i will provide:

the first time they met. willow is over at buffys house for the first time. she has no clue buffy has a sister cause buffys embarrassed. dawn has heard all about willow cause buffy thinks willow is fucking awsome. dawn pretty instanly very much agrees. Willow eats dinner at the summers, the whole family is bickering and apologises for it but willow being used to quiet and cold or just lonley dinners adores it.

Halloween in s2. Joyce is out of town (like in canon) and buffy sure as hell doesnt want to take dawn. and joyce doesnt want her with a stranger so willow offers to take her with the rest of her kids. Dawn who hasnt hit her growth spurt can wear the same costume as last year(a witch) and stays herself the whole night. When willow leaves the group to talk to giles she puts dawn in charge to make sure no one gets themselves or anyone else killed, her included. cause with slayer princess, shooty xander and cordelia, shes the most reliable and she knows dawn can be responsible if it calls for it, sometimes. Dawn loves willow more than ever and when its all over she quietly admits she was terrified and willow says she did wonderfully.

the end of s2. dawn is staying over at the hospital while willow is in her coma (and that way misses buffy and joyces fight). Shes as terrified as the rest. shes there when willow does her first spell, she thinks its so much cooler than being a slayer.

between season 2 and 3. joyce is depressed and spending alomst all her time looking for buffy. willow is guilty cause she thinks she failed the soul spell, and therefore caused buffy running away. she comes over with cookies and realises dawn is kinda being neglected, so she offers to babysit. Joyce appreciates it a lot. willow thinks its nice too, takes her mind of her guilt and this way she can get out of her empty house and almost pretend she has a family.(she does, the scoobies, dawn and joyce included, but like yk what i mean, normal family)

gingerbread. MOO never tried to kill dawn but they stopped her from interfering and kept her close saying stuff like "were doing this for you, the children". She doesnt talk to her mom to at least a week and when she bumps into Sheila in the street she spits on her.

Random SCOGUE headcanon because I need to vent and don’t feel like writing coherently I’m sorry 🥲

You know how Rogue and Scott were in that Music Store in 5th Avenue when they overheard some customers talking about Angel?

And Scott was listening to something and seemed into it before Rogue nudged him?

Well…*cracks knuckles to share stuff no one needs or wants to hear*

She was sharing with him her favorite goth alternative music.

Performed by her favorite musician:

GOBLIN QUEEN.

Scott had never heard of her. Rogue then explained that GOBLIN QUEEN is less of a mainstream artist and more of an underground/indie/anonymous one. She goes on to gush about her favorite songs (ex. A Nothing Being in a Nowhere Place) and albums she managed to buy/burned onto cds (ex. LIMBO and ANODYNE), but laments that she’s never been able to find the one called INFERNO.

By sheer dumb luck (aka contrived coincidence à la me), Scott manages to find an authentic copy of the album INFERNO later on. Did he get another cd Rogue liked by another goth band she liked beforehand for her? Of course he did. But he saw how her eyes sparkled and how animated she was talking about that singer. Also, the music he had heard was pretty cool. So he was always on the look out for it.

Unserious (?) sub-headcanon based on what Josh Whedon once said about Buffy Summers from Buffy: The Vampire Slayer:

Scott and Buffy Summers are cousins on his Dad’s side.

They probably were initially on “Christmas Card” terms with each other (maybe their parents had a falling out (Did the series ever mention if Buffy’s surname came from her mom or dad?) or something and that’s why they didn’t reach out after the plane crash that killed Christopher and Kate and separated Scott and Alex or they only took in Scott for a little bit before giving him to foster care.) and barely speak.

He probably reached out again via a video chat during some holiday occasion (some time after the events of Apocalypse), both of them going the usual “how’s life? fine, how ‘bout you? same old stuff. cool, cool…” (bc she doesn’t know he’s a mutant and he doesn’t know she’s a vampire slayer). He offhandedly mentioned the INFERNO CD by GOBLIN QUEEN that his friend really wants and joked that his current Christmas wish was to find it…only for Buffy to comment that one of her friends had that album. Cue Scott begging Buffy for more information on how her friend got it, and he successfully obtains it for Rogue.

At this point, Rogue is dating Gambit (are they serious? is it casual? do they both genuinely like each other but are both knowingly distracting themselves from their unresolved feelings for others?) , while Scott and Jean are either still together (happily or is it strained bc they are starting to want different things in life and each other but are hoping to make it work regardless of each other’s clearer and conflicting focuses) or have quietly broken up.

Scott finally either found a lead via the previosly mentioned sub-headcanon or something else. Either way, it leads him to a random goth girl who looks oddly familiar, though he cannot for the life of him figure out why.

Scott: *trying to place where he has seen this girl before despite most likely never having met her in his life*

Mysterious Goth Gal: you’ll have a better chance of asking me out if you actually use your words instead of thinking them, chum 😜

Scott: ?!

He noticed she is has a tattoo that says GOBLIN QUEEN. He pointed it out and asked if she liked her music. Is unsure why when she answers yes she is grinning at him like she knows something that he doesn’t. She asks him if he’s a fan, or if there was a pretty goth girl he was trying to impress, winking at him.

Cue Scott talking about Rogue, anything and everything about her (save the mutant part), partially how she introduced him to the GOBLIN QUEEN’s music, but then evolves into how even the little things that she does or says he muses about with quiet admiration and fondness.

Mysterious Goth Gal: …*already jumped ship from making moves on him to shipping him like crazy with this girl he’s so obviously in love with like what*

Scott: *mid unconsciously simping for Rogue* and I wish I could find that INFERNO Album for her, but—

Mysterious Goth Gal: WAIT RIGHT THERE I CAN GET YOU A SIGNED COPY.

Scott: Huh?

Rogue was dumbstruck and ecstatic when Scott presented to her what he jokes is her belated Christmas gift when they meet up, asking multiple times how he got it.

He mentioned that it was autographed, so she opened it:

GOBLIN QUEEN: To Rogue: -insert obligatory autograph stuff- + PS. I wanted to give this to you for free, but your boyfriend insisted on paying full. What a boy scout. I’m rooting for the both of you! ;D

Buffy-Has gene, doesn’t like cilantro.

Willow-Tastes cilantro normally, doesn’t like it.

Xander-Has soap gene, likes cilantro

Giles-Tastes ci-coriander normally, likes it.

Anya-Doesn’t know what cilantro is, opinion and genealogy unclear.

Faith-Mild allergy, still good with eating it because “it isn’t severe enough to kill me, and I like the sting of the flavor” (the “sting” is her tongue having an allergic reaction)

Jenny-Has gene, did not know gene existed and just thought that’s what cilantro was supposed to taste like for decades. Doesn't like it.

Tara-Tastes cilantro normally. No strong opinions, but avoids cooking with it for soap-gened people.

Cordelia-Ate cilantro like once in her life. Doesn’t remember how she tasted it or if she liked it.

Angel-Has the gene, and although vampires taste buds are generally a bit weakened, he has a strong enough variation of the gene that he still despises it despite his vampirism. Still eats it, sometimes even eats it on purpose, because “I deserve to suffer for my sins” (he is eating one singular cilantro)

Spike-Doesn’t have the gene, cannot really taste cilantro cause vampirism.

Has anybody kicked around the idea that Giles’ urge to leave Buffy initially came as a result of The First visiting everyone’s dreams at the end of Season Four and he initially waved it off, but actually The First actually foreshadowed her upcoming dependence on him after Joyce’s death and made it clear that he was choosing between a life for himself and a life spent with her dependent on him, and it was that initial infiltration that gave him the urge to leave in the first place? Because even if we’re not talking about it as an actual thing that could have conceivably occurred, I would love to see some fanfics that touch on this premise with it being a mindfuck on him initially intended to weaken Buffy by taking away her biggest supporter but actually it made her stronger by him stepping back and letting her figure things out on her own. The idea of Buffy finding out that The First actually fucked up one of the most important relationships in her life… I would eat up that confrontation like it was a chef-made breakfast. 🤌🏻 🤌🏻🤌🏻

as i work my way into my xf/btvs crossover fic, i find myself wrestling with... there are xf references in btvs.

thrice, actually:

the pack buffy (to a doubting giles): i cannot believe that you, of all people, are trying to scully me.

gone: buffy: xander and anya are on it, muldering out what happened.

time serial, in reference to time loops: warren: [i hope buffy figures it out faster than] mulder, when that bank kept exploding?" andrew: scully wants me so bad.

clearly, mulder and scully exist in this universe. the thing is, there is no indication that the SHOW ITSELF actually exists. even the trio do not reference a "show" or "episode," just a plot. (they do specifically mention an "episode" of tng, so yes i am splitting hairs, but was is fandom for if not being incredibly nitpicky? they talk about mulder and scully as if they were real people, whereas they talk about data as a character. this is my hill, i'm dying on it, grab a stake or get off my hill.)

so. my explanation, the headcanon close to my heart? the scoobies are one of mulder's sources. willow - the only one who is allowed to use a computer - has absolutely been emailing with mulder since she got her first aol account, probably found him in a supernatural chatroom (not that supernatural, guys. one crossover at a time). she's been passing him info on werewolves and vampires and everything else that goes bump in the night.

in exchange, he helps her with hacking certain government secrets. nothing too overt, but he steers her to the good stuff.

(yes. the initiative was an early attempt at a super-soldier program using monsters instead of aliens. csm doesn't like to talk about it.)

this has been going on so long that the other scoobies - and by extension the trio, who have been monitoring willow's correspondence - consider mulder and scully part of their lives. they probably chat about mulder's latest messages over giant dusty tomes during their late night research sessions, just to keep from falling asleep.

eventually mulder starts exchanging emails with the whole gang, even a reluctant and slow-typing giles - they mostly reminisce about england and ancient curses. they went to the same pub at oxford, decades apart; this makes giles feel cool and mulder feel unspeakably lame.

mulder and spike share a love of soap operas. he talks about movies and awkward relationships with xander, and the pain of loneliness with buffy (and later, what it's like to come back from the dead to a world that has kept turning without you).

willow has emailed scully once. it was a hair question.

the scoobies absolutely went to see lazarus bowl in theaters. they cheered so loud when tea and gary kissed that they nearly got kicked out.

Hmm, so per the universe where the volturi are in the buffy universe fighting the worst apocalypses and camping out on hellmouths, wouldnt they also run into the slayer? I feel like that would be awkward.

You say that as if the Slayer doesn't run across other things all the time and it's awkward.

They may run into the Slayer, may not, depends if the Slayer's at the Hellmouth or not (not always the case).

If we're talking Buffy, I think they'd fairly quickly, and rightly, conclude that these are vampires from a different universe. The Buffy universe being a multiverse of demons it's not shocking there's a different dimension out there where vampires are entirely different.

Whether they're still being driven around by demons is a matter of opinion that I imagine is hotly debated.

Depends which season of Buffy we're talking, early on Bella would likely try to kill them as well and have some... very forced awkward conversations with Aro when she discovers that's impossible for her to do (as she can't steak them, can't cut their skin, and without exposing the venom fire does nothing).

The sad fact is in the Buffy verse, the Slayer isn't that big of a concern to a Twilight vampire (who are stronger, faster, more gifted, and essentially invulnerable). The Twilight vampire would have to be pickings for the hell gods (e.g. Glory).

Later, Buffy would likely be more willing to compromise with them and split the work. "BUT YOU DRINK BLOOD FROM THE FUCKING HOSPITAL OR I BURN DOWN YOUR HOUSE."

more btvs toh au stuff

their relationship goes very smoothly and well, yep absolutely (in denial about the lore I myself wrote… also still a bit unsure about it) willows human disguise was really fun for me, cause like yeah she has to use a hat for her ears cause they are both pretty big and just hard to blame on a syndrome or something. Luckily her wings are small enough to fit under a small cardigan, tho it isn’t too comfortable. She also always has to wear pretty large pants so that she can hide her tail. also about willows hair if anyones wondered why I draw it like I do, just simply cause like so many of the women in this show has just long straight hair, I needed someone to stick out, and I definitely couldn’t have the 2 mcs have the same hair so I decided on that based on just an extreme version of her hair in s4. She probably had it longer in s1, then chopped it off in s2 just like amity dyed hers. and yes I am aware buffy has also has short hair, well she’s gonna cut it short during the time skip between 2 and 3. Cause luz in s3 of toh parallels pretty nicely to buffy in s6 of btvs

My BtVS sexuality headcanons, pt 1: the core scoobies

I'm going to do most/all of the major characters eventually...whelp, here goes. Starting with the core scoobies. I apologize in advance for my bad photo editing skills. Sorry.

Let's start with Buffy Summers herself.

In my opinion, Buffy reads bicurious. She hasn't quite accepted that she's bi yet, (though I do think she is), but is exploring her sexuality. For example, with Faith.

Rupert Giles.

He's bi, no doubt about it. Ethan Rayne was clearly his ex, it's almost blatantly obvious to me.

Xander Harris.

Like Buffy, he's still exploring, and realizing that he might like guys. This can be seen in his interactions with Spike, Riley, Angel, and even Giles in my opinion! I do think he's bi, just still exploring.

Willow Rosenberg.

Well, I know we got canon that she's a lesbian. But she was originally intended to be bi, and reads very bi! Since she clearly labels herself as a lesbian and seems to prefer girls, I think that the term bi-lesbian could work. Or just sapphic, she's definitely sapphic!

🦇 Drusilla as a Scooby 🦇

An au where Drusilla is a Slayer as posited by that one theory that suggests her psychic abilities in canon are linked to her Slayer “potentiality”. I wanted to take it a step further and imagine her as a member of the Scoobies.

- Drusilla would be that goth kid who avidly delves into vampire fiction, including Anne Rice novels, and swoon over the titular vampire characters. A part of her can’t help fantasise the concept of an eternal love she believes vampires revel in.

- Her fashion choices would reflect her gothic tastes, paying homage to the allure of the '80s. She would tease her hair and favour a predominantly red and black wardrobe. 

- Drusilla would be endearingly quirky to her friends. ‘That weird kid’ who excitedly babbles away about her favourite topics of the day. When stressed out she might recite her favourite poems to calm her nerves. Indeed, her propensity for memorisation would make her a valuable asset to the Scooby Gang's research endeavours.

- Much like Willow she would lack experience in the dating scene. However, her bold, quirky style would undeniably attract a considerable amount of attention from her peers. 

- Drusilla's parents find themselves exasperated at her late-night escapades to The Bronze to dance the night away. Initially Drusilla would be shy, but once the right song/band plays she would shed her reservations and let her body move with an eccentric mind of its own.

- Definitely a hopeless romantic with a tendency to fall head-over-heels far too easily. Assuming she hadn’t yet known Spike, she might have crushed on Xander only for her gaze to shift towards Willow. The sight of Willow performing her witchcraft with adorable enthusiasm would make Dru’s heart beat an exquisite sigh of longing and protectiveness. Drusilla would find ways to make Willow notice her, and would even assist her in spells because of her own affinity for the craft. Willow might have had reservations of her own about Drusilla (assuming this timeline followed her crush on Xander), but would gradually warm up to her once she perceives her to be no threat.

- To Drusilla's dismay, her initial advances towards Xander would be met with awkwardness, as he might perceive her intentions as strange.

- Giles would dote over Drusilla’s affinity for music of his youth, finding it nice to talk to someone similarly cultured. Though would regard her as often lost in her own world. However, her manners and politeness would earn her a place of respect within the Scooby Gang, even if Giles would at times shake his head at her whimsicality.

- There would be a sense of competition between both Buffy and Drusilla, especially if others turn to the other for Slayer related tasks. They would constantly compare themselves to one another, grappling with their own insecurities and perceiving the other as better. The fact they share the same Birthday would further amplify their respective unease. Subsequently, Drusilla’s emotions would begin to mirror Buffy's sentiments upon growing jealous of the friendship between Buffy and Willow, longing for a similar connection with the latter. 

- Buffy and Drusilla do however harbour a genuine care for one another despite their jealousy. Naturally they would have an understanding of the burdens they carry as concomitant of being a Slayer, and recognise each other’s strength of character.

Angel and Drusilla love cooking. Like a lot, and since they’re vampires they usually get Buffy to try their new recipes. If she ends up not liking something, they apologize profusely even though she’s not really upset. Spike will join in on the taste testing with spicy things.
