how's your vacation with marissa and nicola?

“It’s been great, getting to see them shed off their businesswomen skin and enjoy the sea and the sand. Plus, Cordelia has been able to connect with them some more and I love it. She already loved Nic, but getting to see her connect with Riss as well... It’s incredible. I love getting to watch those three together; It all makes me so happy.”

Do you regret keeping Dela from Allister?

“Yes. I always wanted to tell him and to have him in her life; But... that didn’t happened until June. We can’t change things though. But... and don’t take this the wrong way... that might be for the best. I never would’ve met Nic and Riss and never would’ve had the Cove and all of my other accomplishments, he would’ve never met Ellie. So while it all sucks and hurts and I regret hurting him by not telling him... Do you really think he’d go back in time and change things? I hate that I hurt him and I pray to the gods that Ellie doesn’t hurt him either, especially after what I’ve done; But I do care about him still and will always hold a certain kind of love for him. I regret not telling either of them sooner, but if I had, our lives would’ve been so much more different. And I can’t imagine a life not having my loves and the Cove in it.”

how did nicola and marissa become cordelia's mother?

“Nicola and I met four years ago at a charity event and became friends. I made sure to prepare her before she met Dela, have her know some basic ASL and to be ready for if she was aloof with her. Dela was a bit surprised that she knew some ASL already and that helped her open up to her a little bit, but it took some time before Dela completely trusted Nic. As for Marissa, we were a bit more unorthodox with introducing her to Dela. But she trusts me and Nic so much that she was more willing to give Riss a chance at the beginning. And now, Dela loves them both and she trusts them: they’re her mothers. And that is never going to change.”

“Correction: the world. And considering I’m dating Nic and Riss, it’s already pretty damn incredible; The three of us being so powerful individually and together is a nice addition. The little cherry on top? Dela loves the both of them deeply.”

honestly, it's hilarious how easy it was for you to become cordelia's mother. how does it feel knowing you stole the privilege of raising her from allister?

“how dare you. how fucking dare you to accuse me of stealing allister’s privilege, of assuming how easy it is to earn cordelia’s love, her trust. i’ve been in her life for four fucking years and trust me when i say: it wasn’t easy to gain those two things. i had to work for it, i had to prove it to her that i am truly there for her and her mother with no malice. our little one has trust issues growing up with disability and doesn’t trust people unless she knows that her mother trusts them. i did not just swoop in her life for her to call me ‘mama’ on the same day. no, it isn’t something that happened overnight either. i treated her the same way every normal child should be treated, i didn’t make her feel any different. it took me months, almost a year just for her to truly let me in her life too, and eventually for her to fully recognize me as one of her mothers, which is something i didn’t ask, yet i am so grateful for. cordelia lopez is the light of my life, along with marissa and cleo. and for you to assume that i stole that privilege? that is so fucking vile of you. don’t you fucking dare accuse me of such thing ever again.

“It’s growing, more and more every day... I’m still learning everything about her, and I’m still not perfect with my ASL but... I think she trusts me now, and that means everything. It’s going to take years for me to have that same kind of relationship she has with Nic, and obviously, I’ll never replace Cleo but... I think she’s the most amazing little lady and I can’t wait to get to watch her grow around us all...”

Why did you leave new york?

“my family needs a break from the whole world. cordelia needs a change of scenery, i don’t want her to just grow up seeing the busy city of new york every single day. cleo and marissa needs a break from their work. i need someplace else to recover. the stress isn’t helping the four of us at all.”
