There was a meme I saw (the one where someone is stacking down domino’s from smallest to largest (or vice versa)) and it was of Far Cry, and had Takkar (doing something unquestionably and unnecessarily ridiculous) as the smallest domino and the largest domino as Dani (also doing something unquestionably and unnecessarily ridiculous) and it basically joked “all far cry protagonists are descendants of Takkar”. And I find it hilarious, because despite how unlikely it is, it wouldn’t surprise me if it was true.

All the protagonist have (at least one) good qualities, enough to do something for the right reason, while being capable of so much violence, and at the same time do something unquestionably risky and ridiculous that just makes me go “yep, there’s Takkar’s genes kicking in.”

What about you? Do you think there’s some “secret connection” between the protags and Takkar?

I believe the only character from Primal who’s canonically connected to another character from the Far Cry franchise is Urki, the ancestor of Hurk, and by extension of Adelaide and/or Hurk Sr. and Sharky.

I don’t know if there are other connections between the Far Cry protagonists or if some are secretly related (in the minds of the writers), but according to a study from 2004, mathematically, the last common ancestor of all living humans may have lived only a few thousand years ago! Primal takes place in 10,000 BC, approximately 12,000 years ago, so they might actually all descend from Takkar!

And in a sense, I guess we could also say that all Far Cry protagonists are descendants of Jack Carver :)

Other than Jamie, which player would you love to read a kind of character study fic about ?

so many. SOOOOO many. i would absolutely love if someone wrote a massive behemoth fic about sam because i adore that boy and there is not enough about him!! i have a season 1-era canon divergent fic in mind where A Certain Thing Happens and jamie's Redemption Arc kicks off early and sam is, like. very integral to everything about that. a pov character! perhaps someday it will leave the google docs outline........

i also think dani has A Lot going for him. what exactly drives his eternal optimism? it takes work to be that sweet all the time! it doesn't just happen! and there's sooo much to interrogate with him and jamie and them both being the team's aces but jamie receiving much more of the attention off of that. ough. i want to gnaw on dani's character like a dog with a bone.

Colin knows what it’s like to worry about how good you are at stuff. And he knows what it’s like to make someone else feel shit because you feel shit about yourself too. And, well, Nate was really trying to make him feel like crap. And he just wonders why. Because he knows people don’t do that unless they have a reason. Ironically, the person Nate lashed out at might be the person who would best understand. After Nate's apology, Colin thinks about fathers, mistakes, and having people come through for you. Also about Nate. He's a bit worried about Nate, actually.
