"You think the boys and the kids are having fun? Because I am ready to spoil the kittens and Nana silly." In spite of nearly spending a year since discovering Dylan's pregnancy with Leda and Lysander, and her joining the Bailey family, part of her was still in slight disbelief, but in a good way as well. She never would've suspected that the art curator would go from being a good friend of hers to now, in a way, was practically her sister. It was funny how like works out. With her arm linked with the other's, Nilay smiled at her. "How are things going with you lot? Between the twins, the puppy, the house, and you two finally confirming your relationship, you two certainly have your hands full."

"Trust me, it was a bit overwhelming at first for me as well." After all, she'd been a nine year old orphan suddenly brought into the world of the Bailey empire. One of the oldest, largest, and richest families in the entire world. Those expectations had been rather terrifying for her as a young child, especially one that received love sparingly and believed that she hadn't mattered. If she failed at being legendary, would she be abandoned again? Would she become an orphan once more? Once they discovered her love for ancient history and her extraordinary brilliance, though, they'd been ready to nurture her and encourage her. Ready to supply her with all that she needed to achieve her dreams, ones that once seemed far-fetched and unattainable. So... Yes. It's overwhelming, but rewarding and full of love. And she was ready to give her niece and nephew all the love they deserve.
And if the couple were to want to have more children in the future, whether through another pregnancy or other means, such as adoption, then she was ready to support them. The future was a fickle thing. One never knows what it could hold and just how unpredictable that was. How frightening it could be. But... The future was a hopeful thing as well. Full of opportunities and chances. The older she becomes, the less she fears the future. Though... Perhaps some wariness wasn't too bad of a thing, particularly concerning her, Eli, and their possibility of having more children, should they both wish it. She nodded. "It truly is," she mused. Of course, she thought of Elijah. How in spite of their current circumstances, in spite of her fears and insecurities, she knew that no one has filled her up with the happiness that she felt with him. How, deep down, she still held hope that they could work things out. That they could still be in love with each other and have a happy life together, in spite of the pain and miscommunication they experienced right now. He is the love of her life, after all. Her soulmate. And she wanted to keep fighting for them, for them to be able to get through this. Through thick and thin, after all. "I can't imagine loving anyone else but Elijah. Nor do I ever want to. I don't know what the future might hold... But I know that he and the girls are mine. No matter what."

Hearing that this was a family trait to push for them to be brilliant made a lot of sense to Dylan. As much as she was happy to help Leda and Lysander reach for the stars, she also didn't want them to ever feel pressure that they had to be the best of the best. "My family definitely was not that way." She shared with a laugh, knowing it wasn't because they weren't supportive and in fact her mom and dad were the ones who refused to let Dylan live a small life and they did the same for her sisters, but the world wasn't as a large as Nilay and Theo's had been. "Well I know they will be grateful for that as they get older." She shares, knowing she'll be supportive of Nilay's children just as much.
Dylan had no idea what the future held, and she didn't want people to pressure into the topic which was why she brought it up. She wondered if the other had felt that pressure too, could possibly relate in going through something rather traumatic and then it be treated like it was just a small blip and they should do it again. At Nilay's answer though she decided to let it go. When it came to defining her relationship with Theo it seemed to stress and confuse the people around them a lot more than it had been for either of them. They both had not been so pressed about it as Nilay or her mom had seemed to feel about it. It was just something that at some point felt inevitable and neither felt like they weren't together. It hadn't been that they hadn't figured it out or had a hard time describing it. It just seemed that certain people in their lives had a hard time understanding that so made it out like they were tiptoeing a line. "Yeah, well that's what it's all about right? Bein' with someone who makes your life happy? Sticks with ya through thick and thin." And they'd certainly been through both just as friends.

Nilay made a face. "You're no fun," she pouted, though a little playfully. She definitely was going to make sure to give the puppy as much love, kisses, and cuddles the next time that she saw her. Then again, Nilay would happily accept cuddles from her daughters, her cats, her niece and nephew, and her fur-niece whenever she possibly could. She chuckled, shaking her head. "That sounds like my brother. I suppose I blame our grandparents, aunts, uncles, and older cousins; While our parents were ready to support whatever career choices we wanted, our family were really encouraging us to go into the academics, arts, and even politics. All of them are so brilliant, they wanted us to continue that legacy. Perhaps not the best methods, but... Whatever your children decide, Dohdah Nilay will support them." As "grossed out" as she played herself to, she was happy for the couple. After the way things ended with Theo's ex and their engagement, she'd been worried about him. Scared that he might not open his heart again. For him to now be with someone that he loves and for them to have a family together... Nothing could express how happy she was for her brother.
The anthropologist wished that people were more sensitive when it come to the topic of having more children or even just having children in general. It was such a tricky subject and when Dylan brought it up, as well-meaning as it was, it did leave her breathless for a moment. It did leave her in pain. She nodded. "Well... Whatever happens, happens. I just hope that things go well for you two, whatever that might be." After all, they have the twins, Nana, and their house being built right now. There was so much for them to focus on currently, aside from the possibility of more children. "Mmm, only just a smidge," she said, raising her hand to pinch her forefinger and thumb almost together as her smile grew. She loved getting to talk with Ida Westwick the handful of times she's seen her. Nilay understood that completely. She'd been so certain that her feelings for Elijah hadn't been entirely noticeable, yet, as she's learned over the years from talking about that period of time there, that absolutely hadn't been the case. Too many people knew far before she did. She just wished that she had listened and told him sooner. Though, whether that would've changed them from having their current issues, she wasn't sure. "At least you two eventually figured out how to describe it instead of being in a relationship limbo. I'm really happy that you two are together, that you two make each other happy."

"So what I'm hearin' is we should bring Nana Darling to your parents' house." Dylan corrected since there was no way she and Theo were losing practically their third child. They both loved Nana so much and the twins loved her too. "See, I'm not too worried about it, now your brother on the other hand? Let's just say he comes up with some new brilliant career path for them on practically a daily basis." It was music or language or science or philosophy. Or all of the above. He was so full of big and amazing ideas for Leda and Lysander. She laughed as Nilay hushed her teasing. Dylan grinned though, not able to help herself since it was hard not to joke around with her. It was her turn to roll her eyes as Nilay inserted an 'ew,' just at the perfect time. "It's fine, I make sure to keep those thoughts for non-siblin' ears. I do love him and am so glad to have what we have together." Dylan shared a bit wistfully, her life felt like a dream come true to have her best friend beside her. She nodded understandingly as Nilay shared about her thoughts on future with more children or not. She bit her lip as her friend asked about the reason for asking. "I guess I don't know, well I do, but I guess it's weird, it's like people have asked me so much now that the twins are born whether or not we are gonna have more kids. I hadn't really thought about it but then just sorta off-handedly Theo mentioned it, but we really aren't tryin' to have more kids. I mean not that we were with the twins." She grimaced a bit at the memory of telling Theo she was pregnant and how rough that had been. "Uh oh, Mama Ida was caught gossipin'?" Dylan knew her mother had respected the fact that Dylan didn't want to push the subject when it came to a relationship with Theo and pressuring him into that. But obviously she didn't mind sharing with Theo's sister what she felt. "Well damn, here I was thinkin' I was coy about how I felt." She wasn't going to throw Theo under the bus for rejecting her at first, it was water under the bridge and she was happy that his mind had changed. "Well, I think we both knew that for some time now, we just didn't know quite how to label that completely." Dylan shared honestly considering the ways they'd gone about things was somewhat out of order.

Her dark eyes lit up excitedly. "Oh, you are never getting her back," she warned playfully. While she knew that she would need to figure things out concerning the cats (Kemet, she knew would adore Nana; Oliver and Eve, on the other hand... Well, she was sure that her and Eli could figure that out.), she was more than excited for it. "Fortunately, you got time to figure everything out. They don't have to be piano prodigies just yet. Just enjoy them still being babies right now." Leda and Lysander still had enough time before they're ruling the world. A factor that she knew her brother must be hoping for. A red blush crept on her cheeks and she gently pushed Dylan's shoulder with her hand. "Oh, hush," she giggled. Though, she couldn't help but to gush about the man. In spite of everything that's been happening these past handful of months, in spite of her fears, he was still the man she was madly in love with. Nothing could stop her from gushing over him and showing the world how much she loved him. Her face twisted, albeit semi-playfully, over Dylan's words. "Ew," she said. Making more of a show out of it. And yet, it suddenly became hard as her friend asked her question. Her features more solemn. "Um..." Clearing her throat, she shook her head before tucking some hair behind her ear. "We... We haven't. My pregnancies with the girls were so difficult, my OB doesn't want me risk getting pregnant again. I know there's adoption and surrogacy, but... Right now, I'm happy with our daughters. There's no rush, whether we decide on more or not." If anything, Nilay would rather choose to adopt than risk being pregnant again. She wasn't going to tempt Death again by going a third round with placenta previa. "Uh, why do you ask?" Did Dylan and Theo talked about more children? She smiled softly as she shrugged. "Aside from what your mother's told me, I noticed the way you two would talk to each other in the past. How you two looked at each other." It reminded her of herself and Elijah, before they got together. "It just... was crystal clear, that you two were more than friends."

Dylan raised a brow in Nilay's direction as she was incriminating herself so blatantly. "How 'bout you just dogsit for us when we take Ledabug and Sander to Greece in August?" She offered as consolation. Though she had a feeling that with the cats, that might be an interesting week or so and her friend would be regretting the decision. "I did mention that to Theo, but I also don't wanna put too much pressure on Elijah to be in charge of that." She let out a soft laugh as Nilay gushed about her boyfriend. It was very clear how much they loved one another and had ever since they'd gotten together about two years ago. Even before then when Nilay was trying to convince Dylan of going on a date with him. Things had all worked out though and she was glad to see their family unit and also be a part of it. "Really? I mean I guess just couldn't tell." She teased Nilay, since it was obvious how much she loved Elijah. "I get it though, I mean seein' Theo as a father is...well I feel like I gush you're gonna say 'ew.'" Dylan said with a grin, a conversation they just recently had popping up in her brain. "Do you ever talk about adding more kids into the equation?" She asked Nilay, knowing that there were other ways to add kids since she didn't feel like one of the ways was really plausible for Nilay anymore. "What you already knew? How do you mean?" Dylan shared with a soft chuckle as she wasn't sure what Nilay had been discussing without her and about her. She'd known that Nilay had gotten close with her mom and the likelihood of them gossiping on herself and Theo was probably very likely.

"Mm, that sounds like my brother," she playfully agreed. It, it was something that she loved so much about Theo. He was himself entirely and he knows it. And knowing that Dylan was knowing these things about him, was learning all of these things about him, helped her feel good about their relationship. "Oh, absolutely not! That fluff ball deserves all the love and spoiling she can get. If she ever goes missing... Don't check my house first, please. Pretty please." She just wants to be able to shower her fur-niece in love! Is that so bad? The curator nodded as she listened. "Wellllll, it's a good thing their Uncle Elijah is a pianist and is able to train them in the future. They'll become prodigals soon enough. Hattie and Rhia's started learning from him as well, and I cannot express how much more in love with him I've become seeing him with our girls." Nothing could describe how beautiful it was. Even before they had Rhia together, even before they got together, just seeing Eli and Hattie together after they moved to Blue Harbor from Cairo had become one of the key reasons why she fell for him as hard and as swiftly as she did. Nilay chuckled softly. "Well, I'm just glad that you guys finally discussed it. I was starting to wonder there when you two would've realized what we all already knew."
📜@dylxwestwick
Dylan grinned in thought at Nilay's question before nodding. "Oh I am sure they're havin' a great time. Except I'm sure Theo is worrying every five seconds about somethin' that could possibly be wrong or go wrong." She admits to his sister since if anyone could understand it was her. "Oh yes, Nana probably doesn't need any more spoilin', but is that gonna stop us? Not really." She shared with another laugh, relieved that Nilay had been just as welcoming to her from the moment they'd met to the moment that she'd shared she was pregnant with Theo's children. Dylan gave her friend's arm an affectionate squeeze before she started looking around. "Oh things are chaotic, Theo recently purchased a piano for our still not built home and said it was for a prodigal babies who are just somehow gonna learn even though neither of us know how to play piano ourselves." She lifted her eyes up skyward while she shook her head and let out a small sigh. "Well, I mean who knew tax season could be so romantic?" Dylan laughed softly as it was the conversation about filing taxes that finally made them discuss that they were partners. It wasn't that they hadn't already known that for one another, but it just hadn't been spoken aloud until months after they'd already declared their love for one another. Nothing they'd done though was conventional as she knew Nilay was aware of.
