Rose was quickly interested in Stefan to teaching her little bits of music theory through piano and violin, as his affinity with the subject communicated his emotions leagues better than words ever could. Sometimes she’d pick up on the cues when he’s freestyling or listening to music, as he’s attracted to certain chords, progressions, and pieces that unconsciously click with how he’s feeling.
Physical exhaustion never was a problem for the former mercenary. Not even after becoming a refugee performing on the streets to make money, certainly not once he was discovered by the Philharmonic Orchestra’s coordinator and successfully earned a seat amongst the other musicians. After long hours teaching children as well as going over new sheets for upcoming performances, however, Stefan mentally tired himself out. It somewhat surprised him at first that he enjoyed the sensation of Rose’s fingers tracing shapes on his skin or massaging through his hair, but he soon found himself often relaxing at the end of a long day by curling up with her.
He never really had much desire before to stay around and attend balls, parties, and other events the orchestra performed at, let alone the stuff that goes on around the neighborhood at home. After all, Stefan never felt comfortable with crowds unless Rose and/or his brother, Percy, were with him. Of course, it was a natural progression for her to tag along to especially the high society occasions, and she was eager enough to want to browse the floor for both of them, him on her arm.
It never fails to cheer Stefan up by ordering Chinese takeout or takeaway pizza slices from one of the many small local joints around New York City, something which she easily picked up on. Though it took him a tad bit longer, he also learned some of the quirks that helped Rose through harder times like cooking so they can eat in and recognizing little physical cues.
