Cassie smiles softly at the person to her side. Thinking about everything that happened before and after Kon’s death… Is it any wonder Cassie was sucked into a cult? Cults prey on vulnerable people, and that period had Cassie at her most grief stricken and isolated. In a very short period of time, Cassie’s support system collapsed.

She was already on rocky ground with her mother going into the Crisis after the revelation of her father’s true identity.

The Amazons were massacred by the OMACs, and the survivors abandoned the mortal plane entirely.

Then Kon died. 

Infinite Crisis was a clusterfuck. A lot of heroes either died or went missing (and were thought to be dead), including several of Cassie’s friends and mentors. A lot of teams, including the Teen Titans, were left floundering in the aftermath.

Bart disappeared, and reappeared completely grown up.

Diana went AWOL

Tim went AWOL

A lot of traumatic, horrible things happened in quick succession, and she lost a lot of people close to her. Cassie had nothing and nobody to catch her when she fell. A cult promising to bring back one of her loved ones? In a world where resurrection is proven possible? Yeah, it’s not that surprising.

kiana, demon that is affiliated with team free will 3.0. previously a bounty hunter that would hunt souls for a price, but eventually was persuaded to leave it behind because of jesse turner, whom she has since devoted her loyalty to. her lucifer.

charlie west, ex-hunter that works out of the refinished harvelle roadhouse. affiliated with william harvelle, also featured on this blog. charlie was a hunter until a tragedy struck where he had to kill his girlfriend. since then, he swore he will never pick up a gun again, but will assist and find information for other fellow hunters that come through.

lilith, to be rewritten from canon writing and taken as an original character. the final seal to breaking lucifer out of his cage, she is the first demon that has known torture in hell by the hands of lucifer. she knows that her fate is to be killed by sam winchester, who is injected with demon blood in his system. there's always going to be some semblance of a connection between her and the youngest winchester, as he is her executor.

sarah blake, a former flame from the first season coming back as a hunter. since finding out that the supernatural world exists, sarah couldn't sit back and let it happen anymore. so she started to free-fall into the life of a hunter, while also maintaining her finances and using it to her advantage. she purchases haunted relics and burn them, from different auctions or museums.

It always kind of bugged me how people never considered that Cassie's full name, instead of being Cassidy and making things more confusing

Is instead Cassandra

Cassidy is a unisex name and means "clever" or "curly haired". Both words describe our presumed vengeful spirit, Cassidy, but they work for Cassie too

That being said, Cassie's name being Cassandra would make a lot more sense thematically

Cassandra means "the one who shines" or "shining upon man". Cassie, even back then on the announcement poster, is the light bringer in Ruin. She fights her way through the darkness

(Princess Quest parallel, perhaps? The woman and the witch in the dark woods story reference, maybe?)

There's another interesting detail regarding the name Cassandra, being:

In Greek mythology, Cassandra was a priestess of Apollo. She told prophecies, mostly about disasters, but nobody believed them.

Resulting in the Cassandra metaphor/archetype

Now, it's probably most likely that Steelwool chose this name for red-herring reasons, but imagine that in a future installment Cassie somehow gets out from under all the rubble and tries to reach out to adults for help, only for them to disregard her. What huge underground structures under the plex? What Mimic? What the hell is this little girl even talking about? And so, greatly shaken by the whole situation, Cassie has only Roxy

(Bah also speaking of, this is coincidence territory, but like.... Cassandra and Apollo... Apollo is associated with either wolves OR foxes. I just think it's pretty neat- Okay, i'm sorry.)

Cassie had always enjoyed nature. It was an open space that everyone shared. Beautiful. Touched by hands and spirit alike. It felt less like being corned or kept in. People watching was one of her favorite things in the world. A profiler loved seeing how people tick. and that seemed to work. But either someone had caught her or this bench needed to be occupied. Throwing this out here. I asked a friend who I know is a sewist, but I need some advice. I have been using Fray Check on my ends when I do these items with color changes, and it works, but it leaves a slight hard spot that I'm not a fan of. I want to secure these ends really well so they don't come undone while washing, but I don't want the hard spot. Does anyone know of a fabric anti-fray thing that will work that is softer than Fray Check (or melting the yarn)? For reference, I'm usually working with acrylic for this application. So anything that would work on something like polyester or a plastic-based fabric/fiber. Or, alternately, does it just soften up when I wash the hats?
