He placed a cup of fresh coffee before Haydee with a small smile on his face.

     it’d been some time since the ruler had seen her companion from the days they were both alive. taking a break from the missions ( which actually had been taking a toll on her physical condition; her noble phantasm dealt her damage while dealing damage to the enemy forces ), haydee’s hazel eyes saw the familiar face approaching her from her side. just seeing that familiar cloak of his seemed to brighten her mood as she’d put down the novel - slender, feminine hands taking a careful hold of the mug that had been placed on the coffee table in front of her. 

     “ it’s been some time, edmond, “ she speaks, and yet it was a tone of content and tranquil joy. “ have.. the missions been difficult for you at all? “
