     So I’ve gotten this question a couple times, and I should probably finally answer it, yeah? 

Why don’t you play Akame after the events of Akame Ga Kiru instead of during or prior? 

     I will not lie on this, I have YET to start reading Hinowa ga Yuku, I’ve seen pages here and there, and I just don’t really enjoy what is happening to my babe. Don’t get me wrong, I UNDERSTAND why it’s happening, and agree with the direction, but I don’t enjoy it as a RP premise. Now, eventually yes, I WILL rp her as a secondary verse from HGY, but not main. Because I don’t like how weak and fragile she has become in the new canon. 

     To those who do not know of the second manga series with Akame in it, Akame is dying. Or so she feels. Now let me explain to those who are unfamiliar with the events of AGK with obvious spoilers. Akame had to unleash her Trump Card of Murasame’s power to defeat the Ice General: Esdeath. In doing so, she, and I quote, ‘had to accept the demon in her and shed her humanity’. When she did this, she gained UNIMAGINABLE strength and speed, and was the most deadly force alive. But even then, she was only JUST on par with Esdeath’s strength. By the end of the fight, she won, but it came with a cost. The markings branding her body cause he excruciating pain. Literally BRANDED by the sins of her past: by every kill she has made with Murasame. The grief, torment, torture, pain, it all burns her very body. This was the first step of the curse.

     In Hinowa ga Yuku, she states that she has eventually gotten used to the pain, and that the next phase of the curse seemed to be that the weapon’s power was now SLOWING her. It was making her body heavier and more sluggish, and she states ‘I do not believe it will end with that either. I feel this curse will one day take my life.’ Even Akame can feel this is the curse’s true ending for her, and as such, she WANTS to try and break it. But it’s not even her first choice.

     She wants to break the curse to find out it’s POSSIBLE so she can revert Tatsumi back to his normal self for he and his family. But she feels she won’t be able to do so. That this curse will kill her far before then. As such, I do not really enjoy this as an RP premise. I don’t want to have to play Akame as weak and fragile, because it’s just. Not her? Granted, from the pieces of the new manga I HAVE seen, she’s still not such, she’s still one DEADLY bitch, but she’s weakening, and it’s...kinda heartbreaking to know. Cause she is my favorite character of all time. 

     This is why I RP her as prior to the event of AGK, or DURING, because she’s at her peak.

But even so...” The ex-assassin leans forward and bows her head, well aware of who she’s talking to and what she’s about to say.

“I assure you, I will work hard to ensure the village’s safety. My mulling over the past won’t interfere with that, Hokage-sama.”
