hae-geon ( ft. @theimpalpable ) has just met the dumbest of dumb :)
THE BLOUSE NEATLY HANGS FROM the mannequin; bishop sleeves with loose cuffs as to not asphyxiate the arms and wrists, as well as a set of buttons that start at the very bottom and can be tied all the way to the neck if needed. It looks a bit like a dress shirt but over-sized instead of oddly form-fitting, with a lapel that’s been ornamented with beautiful, handmade embroidery.
He’s adding the last button when a voice behind him echoes through. Ah, so the petite woman who entered his shop moments ago has finally spoken, and it’s to express a rather firm opinion about colors. Hae-Geon takes a step back from the mannequin; both his hands moving to rest behind his back whilst watching the blouse. He chose a fabric of turmeric and bourbon hues for this one, no hint of pink anywhere.
The tailor turns about and the reason behind her opinion becomes quite evident as eyes dance up and down to register the garments she’s wearing. A flowy dress and a puffy cardigan, these pieces having PINK in some shape or form. If anything, the only color that doesn’t belong amid rose-colored and strawberry outfit is the PAPER being folded within her grasp. It’s GREEN, and it seems to be taking the shape of something. Is it a SNAKE? He can’t quite discern at this distance.
Eyes narrow in curiosity, taking a step toward her.
“I think that’s a matter of preference. Besides, if there’s a plan of wearing, for example, a pink skirt with this blouse, pink on pink would make the piece lose its details. It won’t stand out.” A pause, gaze dropping to see the piece on her hands. “What if I tell you that that,” index finger elegantly points at the folded item, “would look better as a bird? Or a dragon? Or anything else other than what you’re making? What then? Am I right to believe this, will others think the same as I do because I am expressing it, or is it a matter of simple preference?”
As always, making questions that perhaps could be avoided.
“That aside, are you looking for something similar to this piece but in pink? Or what would be the reason behind your visit?”
It’s an addictive pastime’s of Suki’s: window-shopping with her wallet in her bag. Not that she ever has to worry about making an impulse buy because however beautiful or frilly or pink the outfit is, it’s never been the price tag that makes her think twice. It will always be the face she sees in the mirror that makes her hesitate before returning it to the rack. The concept of wearing it has always been just out of reach for her, a concept that feels taboo to even conjure in the first place.
Still, it can’t stop her from visiting the concept over and over again; she might be a member of law enforcement, but as long as one doesn’t go over the line, technically she’s not breaking the law of her self-perception.
And besides, it’s not like the tailor here has a large selection to look at in the first place. They’re not supposed to anyways, right- considering that most tailors make their pay by fixing clothes, right? The most interesting pieces in the building might be the collection of ELABORATE SCISSORS the tailor has on display. And the one he is currently using; she tilts her head. Is he like her then: particular with his tools the way she is with paper? Or perhaps he’s more like Yong, who collects clickable pens for the sake of having them to fall back on.
The tailor takes a step in her direction. It’s similar to how many of her co-workers take to the halls: purposefully.

Still, she keeps folding before she frowns. “Okay but you can still have wrong preferences. That happens a lot.” Like when a murder happens. Or when Mister Edgeworth insists that the handkerchief, he wears is a cravat, not frills. And she looks down at the snake that’s just manifested in her hands. “Well, that’s your interpretation. But that doesn’t make it an accurate one. And besides, aren’t all three technically reptiles?” Pink on pink, he says though, as if such a combination is an eye-sore to see, but if that’s the case then- “But you’re using two similar colors for your piece. They’re just different shades so I don’t see why it can’t just be different shades of PINK.”
Setting her snake to the side ( it needs a friend; she’ll make that one next- ), she lifts the bag by her seat. “I need someone to elongate the sleeves on this dress. One of your customers recommended this place.”
