SINCE LIVING OUT OF STATE, Ian had grown accustomed to taking regular walks in nature, and the warm summer weather meant that Douglas was eager to join him. The park was beginning to fill with concertgoers, the summer concert series in full swing, and it reminded him of his childhood. How strange that he would end up back where he started.

He tended to let the dog lead the way, following a few steps behind at a more leisurely pace. Typically there was no problem with this, Douglas weaving through the throngs of strollers with little difficulty, but today he suddenly veered straight into a woman’s path. After all but cornering her, sniffing furiously, the dog went to jump up, at which point Ian interceded, reaching for his collar to pull him off. ❛ Sorry about him, ❜ he apologized, frowning down at the dog as if he would be able to explain himself. Douglas, for his part, simply strained against his hold. ❛ He doesn’t usually jump on people. ❜

She says, speaking truth as she sees it, "you should..." a cough and a hum to alleviate the tightness in her chest, "you should watch him very close." Another cough. "In fact, he might need solitary," she suggests, not sharing the information for any altruistic purpose. "Just..." she wheezes a little, clearing her throat several times, "just trying to help." She finishes, resting her head against the barrack. @gloriouswhispers

ABOUT

BIRTH - 2015. Alina was born and raised in the Rose pack in New York with her older brothers Alex and Jasper. Though she was closer to Jasper than Alex, she loved both her brothers. She was definitely the youngest, learning to make a path for herself in a family of distinct personalities. She was articulate, knew how to win people over and how to work hard to get what she wanted. On the downside, she was difficult growing up, stuck in her ways and unwilling to compromise. Single-minded when she set her sights on something, Alina fit right into the Rose pack.

2015 - 2020. When Jasper was captured by vampires in 2015, she joined the search but without much optimism. His death was a blow but after days of searching without results, she'd resigned herself to his fate despite their continued efforts. She saw Alex shoulder much of Jasper's responsibilities in their pack and began to throw herself into more tasks as well. She determined to become an asset, to make herself useful. In doing so, she hoped to distract herself from her brother's death. One such distraction came in the form of Dominic Rose, and the next few years brought about a game of cat and mouse between the two before they were engaged in 2019, despite their tumultuous relationship.

2020 - 2023. The war started in 2020 and their pack remained strong and undetected until 2021 when Roxy caused them to be captured again. This time, she didn't resent the other wolf for their troubles. She resented the fact Michael and Dominic left them for dead. It's a grudge she's harbored for years. And when she was separated from Alex and the remaining Rose wolves, moved to another facility, Alina made a promise to herself. That she'd find her brother and their pack. And that Michael and Dominic would regret their betrayal. Of course, such promises mean more when she's not stuck between facilities and holding camps.

2024. In January 2024, she was due to be moved to a holding camp that was attack on New Years Day by supernaturals. Instead, her convoy was diverted to Thunder River where she's been since.
