“what are you even on about?” an eye roll accompanied her words. the annoyance in her tone was a departure from the carefully cool tone she normally adopted when talking to diana as an adult—something a lot more akin to the exasperated and bratty way to spoke to diana when she was a teenager. “why would we be dating?” ignore the fact that last daisy and antigone had both ended up wearing daisy’s red lipstick. “we aren’t even wearing matching costumes.” not for lack of trying, though. “do you remember when ellie and i were dating, and i dumped her right before halloween because she changed her costume without telling me?” the breakup had been a long time coming, daisy looking for any reason to end the relationship before her move to london.

augustine had stopped in her tracks, eyes drawn to a suscpious red spot on the wall. in a few hours morning light would reveal it wasn’t actually red, instead a dark redish purple—someone’s drink splattered across the wall. “so. i don’t think that’s actually blood.” the smell wasn’t quite right, too sweet and not metallic enough. “but you know. keep you eyes peeled for any dead bodies i guess.”

“you would look so pretty with a tattoo. maybe one of those like minimalist like taylor swift or phoebe bridgers lyrics.” henri was not a taylor swift person, and had in fact turned down a handful of tattoo requests for the exact sort of tattoo that they were proposing—considering it tacky sort of thing but a few drinks in and in front of a pretty person, they’d say anything. “or flowers! you look like a flower tattoo type of person.”

augustine had only the barest idea who niko karkaroff was—would have no idea who even anton was if she didn't have to show up at the minster building on a regular basis. she had a handful of unpleasant encounters, her own fault for the most part, but she blamed him and his stupid height. when she saw him lurking at the edges of the crowd, she wrinkled her nose, her own lurking ignored in that moment. "did no one ever teach you how to act like a person?" she took a drink of whatever cheap disgusting beer she grabbed earlier in the night.
