  @garconlost    ❝  —– hades et persephone? ❞   she stops  scribbling whatever she had been writing on her notebook and meets lucas’ stare halfway.  she wasn’t writing anything terribly interesting, and she made a  sort  of  promise  that  she would give lucas her full attention whenever he would speak to her.        ❝  Je pense que vous pouvez en apprendre plus à leur sujet dans un livre, il est complet en ligne. dévie de ceux qui glorifient zeus, et vérifie la bibliothèque à l’école, je peux y aller avec toi, ❞   the end of her pen taps gently against her wrist as she thinks a bit more —— though, she wonders why he was asking about hades and persephone ? it was definitely curious,  but she won’t ask the why , since she knows that lucas will probably say it’s school related.

    ❝   Je vais bien  ❞     she  turns  her  neck  a bit  to  give  mika  a look —- maybe to stop worrying ? But Mika has always worried about Manon, ever since she’s lived there ( and lisa too ) it’s just who he is and she loves him for it.   But she’s just spoken with Lucas in his room  and  naturally, he seems a little pressed that he has to move out ( for tonight )  but he’s doing it,  because … he feels like he has to, and there’s always a residual   bad feeling that comes accompanied with that.  Especially knowing that he has no other place to go.  ❝    le vol était un peu cahoteux et je ne me suis pas endormi  ❞  the flight was less than favorable, and it’s probably because she doesn’t technically like to travel alone  (  even though she’s used to it, it was nice to have someone with her when she went to London in the first place  )    it felt less methodical.  ❝   Euh .. mika, tu sais quand j'ai dit que je prendrais le canapé? Je peux encore. —– ❞   her things are still stacked neatly  by  the  door,  untouched,  yet looking  a  bit  out of place.     ❝   Nos émotions sont fortes et je sens que ce matin aurait pu aller mieux. Je ne veux pas que Lucas ait l'impression que nous le poussons, je ne veux pas lui faire ça. ❞   manon isn’t exactly scolding mika ( because she’s also  about to talk to Lisa as well )  but she made a promise to Lucas that he could come to her for anything, that he wasn’t alone —— the little display this morning  more than likely made him feel the opposite.      

    ❝ Tu me manques encore, mika, tu sais? ❞   with that, she carries herself over to him and opens her arms for a hug.  This,  is how she wants to show him that she’s feeling OK.  It might not be what everyone’s used to  (  always put together,  always smiling about something )  but right now, it’s the best she can do.

          ❝c'est du houmous et des craquelins ❞   she  pauses, hovering over a small opened container.   ❝ the round wheat crackers not the regular ones, unless you want the other ones —- I just went shopping with mika, is there something I forgot to grab ? ❞  eyes widen  for  a bit, a little alarm is showing and she looks between the container and lucas  (  and it’s too early, she knows .. )  but she sees how he eats and if she can curb that just a little bit,  then it’s fine.       ❝  you can keep it in your locker until lunch, it won’t get gross but don’t store the crackers with the hummus, did I mention how it’s homemade ? which is also why the crackers are in a small plastic, as you can see. ❞   her fingers tap against the countertop for a bit  and  she finally collects the top and snaps it closed.  

            ❝ There’s extra in there, if you wanted to share with anyone. and I believe the cafe has baby tomatoes you can pick up when you decide to eat —-  ❞    if she meant Arthur, Basile and Yann she would’ve said so, but she’s noticing a change in Lucas, and —– as always she wants him to chase that feeling for as long as he’s able.

        ❝Je pense que Mika ne connaît pas Charles et que vous ne devriez rien écouter de ce qu'il dit à propos de Charles.❞   she  feels a bit  awkward  now,  knowing that  ? she can’t exactly  get  mad  at  Lucas  right  now  since,  apparently,  Mika was talking about her to Lucas and now ? Things were being said. ❝Dire que quelqu'un ne mérite pas quelque chose et que vous ne le connaissez pas personnellement, c'est faux, Lucas. Vous ne savez pas ce que tout le monde pourrait vivre. Essayez juste d'être un peu plus compréhensif. Je suis revenu parce que tout le monde me manquait,  OK ? ❞   her shoulders shrug  a  bit ,  glance cast to the side.  Manon couldn’t  decide  if  she  felt like she was being interrogated or if she felt the flush of embarrassment because —— maybe she was just taking it the wrong way ?  She couldn’t decide.

      there’s  a  toothbrush  sticking out of her mouth  and she’s  looking  at the other  with a surprised  expression; she had made her way out of the bathroom and into Lucas’ room in hope some of her old things were in there   (  but  it’s completely  changed !  and she loves that, she really meant it when she wanted Lucas to have her room as long as possible  )  and well,  she was planning on sleeping in Lisa’s room tonight.  but,  she could see how  this looks a little weird,  because —- she didn’t call ahead.  manon  didn’t  feel  like  it,  and it was uncharacteristic  for  her  to  be  so  sloppy;  but she doesn’t have it in her. and, whoever this is  —-  ❝ Pardon ? ❞   it muffles a little and her hand comes  up to gesture him to wait.  quickly slides into the bathroom to rinse her toothbrush , mouth,  and returns back out.      her  shoulders raise up slightly ,  she gives him a more or less  dead set expression.   but ,  she wonders who this boy was and why he was standing in the middle of the apartment  ?  ❝ Je … je m'appelle Manon,  j'ai  vécu ici avec Lisa et Mickael, je suis revenue de Londres plus tôt dans la journée, je cherchais en fait Lucas. est-ce que tu sais où il est?  ❞  her arms  cross a  bit as  she speaks  and  she doesn’t know why she’s explaining everything.  her fingers tangle themselves together   and  she  glances  a bit  behind  the  taller  boy.  should  she  mentioned that  she brought a  box  of  snacks and  stuff from  london ? 

 ❝  Désolé qui êtes-vous ? ❞     a  beat.    it’s  possible  that   she  probably  should’ve  called  ahead  of  time,  but,  manon  doesn’t have  — she doesn’t  ,   it’s  like  her  mind  is processing everything  incredibly  slow  —-  and hitting her days later.    ❝    Donc, je pense que je serai ….. chez un ami ou dormirai sur le canapé jusqu'à ce que je le sache.❞   she stretches a  smile  onto  her  lips  (  less than  meaningful,   trying   to   save   face.

           ❝ce que je vois en toi❞      her brows  raise a bit  in  his direction.  Past tense, why is he speaking in past tense ? But her demeanor speaks as though she wants him to already have known this.   ❝ou peut-être que vous pouvez leur dire, quand vous revenez dans deux semaines ?❞ her head  tilts a bit  ,  brown curls toppling over one side of her shoulder  and  she  pulls a  bit  of  a tight lipped smile.   Manon could go back to her friends and talk about what she sees in Charles,  but truthfully it’s more important that Charles knows how she feels ?  and if he didn’t,  then what did moving to another country mean ? Still,  she shifts a bit on the bed, combing through her clothes , her  suitcase.  She doesn’t mean to put him on the spot like this.   ❝ vous ne devez pas mais je pense que ce serait bien. Je ne veux pas retenir mika, lisa et lucas à l'appartement. j'aimerais rester avec toi.❞   In his  apartment , or whatever ,  but she doesn’t want to take her room back and she has a feeling that mika will be stubborn about it.   she doesn’t want to leave him,  but she can’t stay ?

   Her  index  finger digs into  the front of her jeans  for a bit  as  she contemplates .  It’s  good  to  be back,  and she likes being around  everyone  again,  but as she sits there across from Emma, something didn’t place  quite right.  Manon is the same, except her hair is longer.  The same,  except  tired.  ❝ J'ai vu la fête sur instagram.  ❞  she offers a bit, exchanging a subtle glance.     ❝ Comment êtes-vous allé habillé?  ❞

      ❝ Salut,  Arthur  ---- ❞   a head  of  brunette  hair  kind of  sneaks  up  behind  him  and  for  once,  he’s  not  accompanied  by  basile,  yann  or  lucas  (  which is important right now  )  but she does take a seat in on the ledge,  facing  him  a bit  and stacks her book on her legs. It’s not a weird friendship,  not one either are trying to hide but it’s one of important circumstance, and it was .. making sure their friend was OK.  ❝ comment vont vos études?   ❞  she tucks a strand of hair behind her ear  ,  actions following the wake of her words ----- because that’s another thing they have in common: studying, and wanting to succeed.  and manon ?  needs to refocus on that. 

      ❝ Je ne veux pas paraître comme si je le surveillais, mais l'autre soir, il semblait un peu contrarié. ❞   meaning: Arthur knows more than Manon,  and he can turn her down when she asks this.  But, what she’s not saying ?  There was a empty case full of beer on the kitchen counter, and mika drank too ----- and she asked Lucas, but he gave her half of nothing.

      Manon has  moved  and changed the way she’s been sitting at least five times in the hour she’s been studying alongside Eliott.  And,  she’s sure she wasn’t being exactly quiet about it,  but she can’t help it ---- she’s been staring at the same few lines over and over again ---- she can’t get past it.  Every time she blinks , her eyes feel like they’re sinking and it’s getting harder to pay attention ----  ❝   Si j'en fais plus, je vais mourir  ❞  but if she stops --- she’s already behind. . ❝ Je vais boire un verre, je veux quelque chose?  ❞   the books are already stumbling to the closest surface  and  she’s climbing over  the back of the couch, heading for the kitchen.  They all study together ---- it’s a thing ,  though this time it had been Eliott and Manon ,  waiting for Lucas to get home  .. except,  the reality of it was Manon probably wouldn’t stop tonight. but this is what she signed up for and how she understood the content.

    And she can’t stop procrastinating.   ❝   combien vous reste-t-il?  ❞  because  just  then, she decided that she’s not going to do anything more until the others get there ----- and who knows when that’ll be ?  All she knows is :  she can’t read another sentence and two, she feels like she could apply the literary theory to inanimate objects  (  which sounds ridiculous, but that’s how jumbled she is right now )

         her  fingers  run  over  her  forehead  softly  ---- in  thought.  It  had  been one of  those  days, actually,  where,  manon hadn’t been feeling quite like herself.  Like,  things felt wrong  and  out  of  place --- and she couldn’t even deal with that right now  ❝ You  are  ..  okay, right ? Tell me something,  anything  ---- about  you that’s new.   ❞   THESE ARE  HER  GIRLS  and  ,  Manon  will always  be there  for  them,  no matter what  .. nothing can stop her from seeing them  ------  no plane rides  either.    But,  she  would  like  to  speak  with  Alexia  first,  right  now at least    ❝ Don’t  think  I  didn’t catch  you  and  Romain at the party  mhm  ? what’s that about ?    ❞   hands  reach forward  and wrap themselves around  the other girls,  giving them a tight squeeze.   manon tries  to keep an upbeat  expression  but  as  alexia can probably  tell,  manon was going to be bad at this !    (  and not that she’s bad at  talking  with her  friends or  anything ---- because it’s the exact opposite,  it’s  just   )    manon    had  already  made  plans  to LEAVE.  Lucas has  her  room  ,  and she  has  somewhere  concrete ------- something sure,   and it feels like she hasn’t had that in such a long time  (  not since she’s moved in with mika and lisa  )  but with that kind of enticing  fact  there was  also  fear.    not that big, but 

     perhaps she should stop  behaving so weird. ❝   A lot of things have happened this year, no ? I feel as though you and I are somewhat overdue when it comes to .. maybe going out and getting some coffee ?     ❞
