Jonah Caishen Marrero wanted to have that cliché love story like his parents. And he thought getting a girlfriend would be a start, so he did just that. Dating her gave him temporary happiness, but he knew he wasn’t in love with her, and that the relationship they had wasn’t going to be a fairytale.

And the longer he stayed with her, the more he questioned who he wanted to be with. When he would go on dates with her, his eyes would linger on men, wondering how it would be if he was with them instead. His curiosity got the best of him, opening up a dating profile looking for just a “male friend.” With much luck, he stumbled upon someone he'd never seen before. His eyes lit up when he saw him.

They began their friendship, becoming close in a matter of seconds. It was like this guy Xavier was made for him. He started neglecting his girlfriend for a guy he just met. His feelings for Xavier grew with every moment he spent with him, and for the first time, he was in love.

The meaningless flirting and the harmless touching started to become more, making Jonah feel terrible as he hadn’t bothered to break up with his girlfriend. Calls started to pile on his phone, texts going unanswered as he spent more and more time with him.

Everything was picture-perfect until one day he felt like his whole world collapsed. He couldn’t breathe as he finally read one of the texts that she sent him.

He wanted to hide with Xavier forever and never talk to anybody again, but Xavier talked him down, telling him that everything would be alright.
