Misconception: Nesta thinks he doesn’t bathe regularly.

send me a misconception you think people have about my character and I'll explain if it's true or not.

In contrast to Nesta's belief, Cardan does bathe regularly; more so than regular, in fact, once in the early hours at dawn right before bed and once when he wakes when the sun sets, in a porcelain bathtub with soaks of roses and honey and jasmine. And considering the Fae don't break a sweat as easily as humans do, the aroma of their fragrance stays with him for the duration of the day ( well ― night given the Folk are notoriously nocturnal ) and he carries it with him everywhere he goes. So if Nesta thinks he smells, perhaps she ought to get her smelling buds checked out.

a little headcanon about Cardan's psychology and the ways he loves

I don't think anyone talks enough about how Cardan was willing to kill for Jude. She was severely wounded by Madoc and Taryn, her twin sister, the same twin who betrayed time and time again asked her to come over to her house, Jude accepted even if Cardan told her she was injured and should remain in bed, to leave it for another day. Jude refused and so Cardan joined her to keep her safe, knowing she was far too sore to fight. Granted, his suspicions were correct and Jude was indeed under attack by the Ghost but Cardan, mister 'I'm a lot of things brother, but I'm no murderer' drew a knife and threw himself before her. Even though he knows not how to use it, even though he denied learning swordplay because he hated hurting people, even though he hates the act of murder and frowns upon it ! Yeah, Taryn called off the Ghost last moment possible and Cardan visibly relaxed when he no longer had to kill for Jude, but HE WOULD HAVE DONE IT. Conclusion: Cardan would kill for his love interests.

After finishing Alice in Wonderland, Cardan went to the Market, located in one of the Lower Courts, and traded one of his finest cloaks, embroidered with gold, to a wandering Faerie for Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events. After finishing the first book in less than a day, he returned the following day and traded two of his gold rings for the rest of the books.
