THE ORDER OF PALMS An order of holy folk that serve The Helm, working to create powerful Aasimar Paladins for the purpose of protecting any who hire their help. [BACKSTORY UNDER CUT]
One day, Gjör and her peers were lead by their mentor Opheria, to a mission far from their home. On the peak of that mountain village, they saw upon the horizon, the castle of their home go up in flames. Horrified and scared, the apprentices sought to follow their mentors guidance, and followed her lead into a small barn. It was there, that Opheria proceeded to slaughter each and everyone of the apprentices. It seemed she somehow had a hand in this sudden attack on the Order of Palms. Gjör D'annevual survived a sword through the 'heart', on account of a rare condition, that places her heart on the other side of her chest. When she finally managed to bring herself back home, the Order was insulted by her survival. She had so many better peers, why couldn't any of them have survived? This runt was seriously the only thing that survived Opherias wrath? It was better to just wash their hands clean of this. Thus the Order decided to banish Gjör from their ranks. She now travels the land in search of a purpose.

Prune Juice Cookie x Yan! Reader. ONESHOT.

-Precious-
There he was, sitting peacefully on a bench, unbothered. Smart, handsome, and perfect. He's so... wonderful. He is he greatest person to ever grace this planet. I must make sure nobody can taint him. He's my everything. My precious Prune Juice Cookie.
But who is she?
Why is that student talking to him? No, why is she even looking at him? I can't let her taint him. I'll deal with her later. For now, I just want to see him in all of his glory.
That laugh, that smile, those eyes. Why does he feel the need to hide them so much? They are the most beautiful things I've ever seen. Well, besides him. Nothing is more beautiful than him.
He is my everything. He is my heart, my soul, my reason to live. Without him, I have no purpose. I'd die if I knew I had to wake up and he wouldn't be in the same world as me. My heart beats for him and him alone.
Does he not understand this?
Oh look, that poor excuse of a being has left Prune Juice alone. And look at that, she's wandered off all by herself. Doesn't she know how dangerous that is? Oh well. I don't care. It makes my job so much easier.
I would smile as I walked up to her. "Hello!" I'd say cheerfully while waving to her. It was all fake, of course. I'd never want to smile for some brat like her. It just makes things easier when people trust you.
"Me?" She'd ask while pointing to herself.
Oh great, she's stupid as well. Actually, I already knew she was dumb from the moment she started talking to Prune. She's just so much dumber than I imagined. Who else would I be waving at?
"Yes, you. Can you follow me for a second? I need help with something." I would tell her.
"Oh, uh, sure thing.."
That was almost too easy. If she follows a stranger so easily, why hasn't she already been killed? She's begging for death at this point.
"Great." I grabbed her wrist firmly and lead her to an alleyway nearby. The smile I once wore was gone. All that was left was an expression of cold and silent rage.
It did not take long before we reached the end of the alleyway, and I shoved her in front of me ever so slightly.
"We're here." I told her.
"What are we doing here? I thought you said you needed help with something." She started to back away from me while looking around nervously.
Already has cold feet? She sure didn't when she went up to my most beloved.
"I do need help with something." I told her, taking out my blade and giving her a crazed expression.
"W- what are you doing?" She started to back away even more. Of course I expected something like this. It wasn't long before she hit a wall.
"Leave me alone, you freak!" She'd shout while her expression formed into that of fear.
That's the best thing she can come up with to defend herself? I swear, she's such an idiot. My beloved Prune Juice could have come up with so much better. And his expressions would be ten times more entertaining.
"You're so unoriginal. I've heard that insult hundreds of time."
"Why are you doing this? What did I even do?"
"...You're not very smart, are you?"
I would take my sword and raise it above her body, feigning a strike. She would raise her arms above her, as if that were going to do anything.
"You're not even entertaining. So predictable..." I'd click my tongue and sliced through her chest.
Crimson.
Everything was dyed that deep, blood red. My clothes, my sword, the ground. Her. This is what she gets for speaking to Prune Juice. She laid there with her body all limp. Isn't it pretty? How the blood shimmers when the light hits it. How you can see the life leave their eyes. How they react when they're scared. It's not as beautiful as Prune Juice, but still a thrilling experience nonetheless.
I'd start to walk back to my dorm room, evading everyone's view. I've gotten really good at that, since I've killed so many people.
I entered my empty apartment and immediately changed my clothes. Can't have Prune getting suspicious of me now. I would chuck it into the washing machine and switch to a fresh set. After, I would start to clean my sword. It's much easier to clean, being made of less absorbent material.
I'd sit on the couch, just wiping up some of the leftover blood. I managed to get most of it off in the first attempt, but it's always good to do a second just to be safe.
That's when the door opened, and my roommate would enter the room.
"I'm back.." They would say in a sad tone. He sat down on the couch next to me, not suspecting a thing.
"Ah, hello my love. You seem a bit upset. Is something bothering you?"
He's so precious, even while sad.
"I met somebody else today, and they said they would text me back immediately! But I've been waiting for three hours now, and there's still nothing. This always happens. Am I not likeable?" He'd ask while resting this chin in his hands.
Oh, he's upset about that. He usually is.
"Don't worry, dear. If they don't want to make the effort to talk to you, then they're the problem. You really shouldn't be bothered about what those types of people are up to. Just stick to the ones you know are good, like me!"
I leaned my sword on wall next to us and gave him a kiss on the cheek before smiling at him.
"I guess you're right." Prune Juice would say.
I'm always right.
"Now, why don't we cuddle? There's actually a new show we can watch!"
I would hold out my hand, which he took immediately, and lead him to our bedroom. We spent the rest of the day watching shows and cuddling. That's when I heard a washing machine do its little chime, although it was feint. It was the same machine that held my crimson stained clothes.
I'm sure if I told him one day, he'd understand. This is all for him, after all. I love him so, so much. If he loved me as well, then he wouldn't be mad.

Professor Lupin
Professor!Remus Lupin x Professor!Slytherin!Reader
Request: Hey! Could I please request a Professors AU with Remus? I melt over the idea of him reuniting with someone from his school days when they both become professors and potentially a shit ton of pining from our boy Prof. Lupin âșïž ty lovely!!! Xxx
Warning - none that know of.
A/N I hope you like it @cherrycolakxsses! Had so many doubts to post it but this I finally out. It's quite lengthy and might feel rushed at the end. Sorry!
"(Y/N) (L/N),â Professor McGonagallâs voice tore through the music blasting inside (Y/N)âs office. Does it set a bad example? Definitely. Does she care? Maybe.
âOld habits die hard, Professor,â she said, extinguishing the candlelight on her desk that's been lit since last night when she was going through a few papers. McGonagall chuckled at that.
The two of them walked down the corridor to the great hall for breakfast when Professor McGonagall said something, âWho do you reckon is going to be this yearâs Defence Professor?â
âThe dementors?â (Y/N) asked, looking genuinely confused.
McGonagall glared at her, âI wish you werenât a professor, I could have deducted points,â
âProfessor Slughorn would have been mad at that,â (Y/N) chuckled.
Professor McGonagall smiled at the fond memories of her past colleague complaining to her about âunfair deduction of house pointsâ.
âBut tell me a plausible guess of who might be this yearâs Defence professor,â she insisted, a small smile tugging on the corner of her lips.
(Y/N) narrowed her eyes, âWhat are you planning, Minnie?â
The said person rolled her eyes at the nickname, âWell, I will tell who the Professor is - Its Remus Lupin,â
She could see the young professor straighten, staring at a spot on the ground as her thoughts ran wild, mind flooding with memories of a certain familiar Gryffindor.
âOh,â was all she could muster.
âHe will be joining us tomorrow,â McGonagall said carefully, looking intently at the girl before her.
âWhat!? Tomorrow?â she said, her eyes blown wide.
âYes, and I except for him to have a good welcome,â
âYou think I would be...mean to him?â
âWhat are you two still in your fifth year?â
âOh come on, Minnie! Don't do that!â
âI should give it to the two of you, it was rather hilarious,â
âWhat is hilarious in watching two fifteen year olds duel!?â
âYou will know it,â
That night (Y/N) rolled on the expanse of her bed, wanting nothing but the face of the Gryffindor to just disappear and allow her to sleep but all she could think about was him. She wondered if that same high school crush was turning, she wished not.
âWelcome, Remus,â Professor Dumbledore greeted him with a wide smile as Remus looked around the Headmasterâs office. He had come here only a handful of times and every single instance was just not the best.
âHello, Professor,â He said, smiling politely.
After the introductory chat, Dumbledore said, âWell, come on, then, let me introduce you to the rest.â Remus smiled awkwardly as the Professor clapped him on the back.
Remus stopped dead in his tracks as Professor McGonagall and another young woman walked in. He immediately identified her, it was (Y/N) (L/N), his once upon a time arch-nemesis. He clearly remembered her 16 year old self, a bright smile on her face as she spoke to him rationally for once, settling everything, that contrasted the taboo of students with green robes having cold look.
(Y/N)'s smile slipped as she saw him, he was extremely thin and malnourished but he did have a smile on his face that compensated for everything else.
âHey,â she said, mustering the smile back and outstretching her hand.
Remus coughed as he managed to break out of the trail of memories and shook her hand, âHello,â
âMs (L/N), can you please accompany Mr Lupin to his office?â Dumbledore asked.
âYes, professor,â she said without giving it another thought.
âDo you remember this place?â (Y/N) asked with a smile as they reached a deserted corridor.
Remus barked a loud laugh, âOh, how can I not! Wasn't this the place where we charmed the water balloons to pop right above your head?â
âYep, it was the very same place where the epic duel happened, the time I had almost won,â
âBut you didn't,â
âAnd neither did you,â
âI think - what was his name? - Liam Holloway! Yes, he ended up in the hospital wing,â
âThat's what you get when you try to get in between a duel,â
Remus chuckled, âOne of the reasons that was epic because that's when they saw Hogwartsâ most silent people have a fully-fledged duel,â
"Oh, yes! But honestly, to this day I have no idea how it started,"
Remus chuckled, "It was because the water had drenched your potions and charms essay "
"My potions and charms essay? Remus," (Y/N) dissolved in a fit of giggles, "Oh goodness,"
"What?" Remus asked, a smile spreading its way on his face. He waited for her to calm down.
"Professor Slughorn had looked at me pitifully the next class and then said I didn't have to hand in that essay and Flitwick did too. I hadn't done either of their essays that time. And when they told me that I was so confused as to why they did,"
Remus' jaw dropped as he looked at her incredulously, giggles still escaping her lips, "And I being the nice person I was, I wrote that essay for you and had James put it "discreetly" into your bag. Wait, that green bag was yours, wasn't it?"
"That was you!?" She asked, her eyes wide.
"Yes," he said, nodding.
"Oh, Merlin, I thought it was Snape for some odd reason and I was being good to him!â
âShould I be offended?â
âI dunno, I am sorry,â she wiped the tears that formed in the corner of her eyes with the amount of laughter she did within the few minutes.
Remus watched her as she smiled and looked around, the two of them falling into a comfortable silence.
âThis will be your office,â (Y/N) said, opening her arms wide open at the entrance, âthe terms start in a couple of days and then-â she grinned at him.
Remus was slightly distracted by the tank that stood at the side of the room, perhaps it was a fish tank; it was empty so he had no idea about the use of the tank and the thought of buying a fish for it ran high.
âNo, honestly, the kids are great!â she said proudly, misinterpreting his silence.
âAre they?â Remus asked as he looked around his new office.
âYes! I mean they are so lovely and sweet and just amazing, unlike some,â she said pointedly.
Remus chuckled, âWhat are you insinuating, (L/N)?â
âYou know exactly what I am insinuating, Lupin,â she said, smirking.
(Y/N) squeezed Remusâ arm, watching his eyes turn glossy as he looked at the boy seated at the Gryffindor table laughing with his friends, resembling a lot like Remusâ late best friend.
He sighed and looked away. Soon, Professor McGonagall engaged him in a conversation, as though sensing the situation long ago. He spoke to her, a subtle forced smile on his face though all he could think about was his friends at the age of fifteen running along the corridors hollering and howling with laughter as they did so, and (Y/N).
âGood morning, Professor Lupin,â Remus heard as he walked through the corridors of Hogwarts - his once upon a time home, where he laughed and found friends and people who loved him, people he loved - he turned around to find (Y/N) grinning at him, âYou know, I never thought youâd be a Professor,â
âYou think I don't have the capability?â Remus asked, his eyebrows scrunched in offence.
âNo, I mean you were after all the brain behind those petty pranks,â she said, grinning at him, âDo you think I didn't notice those âsecretâ whispers?â
âYou-how?â Remus asked.
(Y/N) froze, biting her lips to prevent the blush from spilling onto her cheeks, âThat doesn't matter. By the way, I must say, that prank on Snape where his hair was neon green for a week-?â
âThat was epic and you know it,â he cut in.
âYes, I know, Lupin, let me finish, will you? The part of the reason why it was because I did something,â she smiled cheekily, looking at him through her lashes and making Remusâ heartbeat cease and he felt as though the air in his lungs were knocked out.
Remus blinked, looked at her and asked, âWhat?â
(Y/N) chuckled, âYes. The potion was to turn Snapeâs hair a shade of purple, it was quite nice on him I must say but it wasn't - how do I put it, um,â she snapped her fingers in the air trying to find the right word.
âHumiliating?â Remus suggested.
Her eyes widened as she chuckled, âNo, more like embarrassing?â
Remus smiled, âAlright,â
âSo, I had mixed a neon green solution I had stored for, well...you,â
âFor me!?â
âYes,â she said with a giggle.
Remus blinked, âWhy would you do that?â
âUm, good question but remember I hated you at that period of three months,â she said, shrugging.
âWell, now?â Remus asked, tilting his head slightly and staring at her intently.
âWhat now?â she asked.
Remus looked away from her striking orbs and at the sea of students, âYou know, do you still hate me,â
âNah,â she said and proceeded to mumble incoherently.
âWhat did you say?â
âOh, nothing, nothing at all,â
The two of them fell into the depths of awkward silence, struggling to get back. Students who passed the greeted and smiled, giving (Y/N) an opportunity to break the silence.
"What are you planning to do in your first class?" (Y/N) asked.
Remus had brainstormed the past night. He wanted something that would make his first class a good one, an opportunity to teach the students all while taking a place in their heart and getting to know them. Remus believed that a student would like the subject if they liked the teacher.
"I thought of doing some theory part or something like that," Remus shrugged unsurely.
âTheory? On your first day?â She looked at him as though he was an alien, âWow, Lupin, I thought you were genius,â
Somehow, as she muttered those words Remus felt a blush forming on his face, perhaps because she thought he was a genius (which he was), or it was embarrassment.
"You could do like practical like, I dunno, something cool," she said, waving her hands wildly.
"Um, what is cool?" Remus said, blankly.
(Y/N) stopped, gawked at him and left forward, shaking her head, "Do whatever you want, Lupin!" She yelled.
"Hey, hey, wait! (L/N)! HEY!" He called after her, watching her go without another glance at him, "And there she goes. Great, Remus, scared the girl away,"
"You did a boggart!?" (Y/N) exclaimed, the evening Remus had come into her office uninvited - definitely startling her - and boasting about what he taught that day.
"Yes," Remus chuckled, "Neville's boggart was Snape, you know,"
(Y/N)'s jaw dropped, "Wait, I, oh my goodness, his worst fear is Snape?"
"Yeah," Remus mumbled. (Y/N) fell silent as her eyes connected with his, both of them drawing deep breaths. She got lost into the depth of his eyes, concentrating on trying to find which colour they adorn - green? brown? amber? - it would take her years to find out.
(Y/N) coughed and looked away, breaking herself from...whatever she was put into.
"Um, uh," Remus shifted on his feet, one hand stuffed into his pocket and the other scratching his neck, "Would you - um, perhaps we could, I mean, if you want to-" Remus stopped his stuttering and took a deep breath, "We could take a walk? Like just down the-"
(Y/N) chuckled, standing up and crossing the desk. She grabbed the jacket that hung on a stand in the corner of her office. The coat was an obnoxiously dark colour of green that made Remus scrunch his face.
"What?" She asked, narrowing her eyes, "You donât wanna come?"
Remus grinned extremely widely, and snatched his coat, stumbling to join her pace.
The two of them walked down the corridor to the black lake, their surroundings cold, the chill air swishing their cloaks yet the two of them felt warmth seeping into every inch of their body.
"You do know that it's way past curfew, donât you?" Remus tried to joke. The keyword being - tried. He was bad at that, he was bad at flirting, he was absolutely terrible with girls.
But to his utter surprise, (Y/N) threw her head back, laughing, "You do know that we are Professors, donât you?"
"Well, itâs my first day," Remus shrugged.
"Oh, now about that again - did you really do a boggart with your students? Really? In the first class you wanted them to show their fears?" She said, glaring at him.
Remus shrugged and looked around, his eyes catching the moon, it was waning gibbous, 7 days due to full moon. He was finally back at Hogwarts for the full moon. 16 years later.
"Remus," (Y/N) laid her hand on his arm. He suddenly whipped his head to look at her, the movement adding to their close proximity.
Remus froze. Her eyes. They were captivating to him. They shined under the moonlight, her eye colours modified into bright, shining ones. He fell into the mysterious depth of her eyes that pulled him closer, quite literally.
Both of them did not know when but soon their lips connected in a messy kiss but it was perfect for them. Their hands manoeuvred until hers were buried into his brown curls and his arms wound around her waist, pulling her closer. Remus tilted his head, deepening the kiss.
Kissing under the moonlight, what a cliche, yet, Remus Lupin wouldn't want it any other way.

Blood in the Water
Summary: Virgil is kidnapped for ransom, but when his captors don't get what they want they decide to get rid of him.
Characters: human Virgil, mer Logan, oc villain
Warnings: Kidnapping, restraints, hostage, injury of a main character, implied torture, attempted murder, drowning mention, near drowning, noncon kissing(?)/mouth to mouth, knife, uh⊠let me know?
Virgil had never given much thought to his father. Sure as a kid he thought the man was cool as hell. But he was more like that rich uncle you never see who sends you cool toys on Christmas and your birthday.Â
As he got older he came to realize this but didn't care all that much. Sure he thought he would've liked to have an actual relationship with the guy, until he got old enough to realize his mom was the only one who was actually supporting him and paying the bills. So he decided the guy wasn't worth it anyway since despite all the money he seemed to have he never tried to help out.Â
Virgil knew his father was a bastard.Â
Virgil thought he was simply a rich yet deadbeat dad up until his mom got sick. The two had never once asked him for anything, but when Virgil was a broke college student who couldn't afford the growing medical bills he reached out. Hoping that if nothing else the man would help pay for her treatment.Â
He didn't even go to the funeral.Â
So yes. Virgil knew his father was a bastard. He just didn't realize how much of one he actually was.Â
Virgil was currently tied to a chair on what he could only assume was a boat. Or at least he hoped it was a boat or else his concussion was worse than he thought.Â
He didn't bother testing the restraints. He was too tired at this point and every attempt before had ended in pain.Â
He didn't even know why these people had suddenly grabbed him off the street and shoved him into a trunk. Sure his estranged father was rich or something but it's not like either of them had been in contact for years. Virgil didn't even get gifts anymore since his mom died and he told the man to not even bother.Â
He really hoped these people didn't actually know who he was because if they tried to ransom him he was definitely going to die.Â
The sound of the door slamming open startled him from his thoughts.Â
Virgil glared despite the new ball of anxiety sitting heavy in his stomach.Â
"So," a man in a pristine white suit said as he walked through the door, "You must be Virgil."Â
 "Who's asking?" Virgil growled.Â
He almost regretted it as one of the guards made a move for him, only to be stopped by the man holding up a hand.Â
 "You can call me John."Â
"Because that's totally not a made up name."Â
'John' just smirked, "Remind me: what was your father's name again?"Â
Virgil cursed, "Look man, if you're looking for money you kidnapped the wrong guy. I haven't had contact with that bastard in years. He didn't even pay child support!" Â
"I asked for his name, not your life story."Â
Virgil huffed, "George Storm," he ground out, "why are you even asking me? You obviously know already."Â
"Just wondering which alias he used on you."Â
 "What?"Â
 "Now Mr. Storm-"Â
"It's Sanders. I got rid of his name when I told him to fuck off."Â
"Fair enough," the man said, "regardless of your name the fact remains that you're still his son and that means you're worth something."Â
Virgil couldn't help but laugh at that, "Didn't you hear me? He won't give you any money. He probably forgot I even existed by now."Â
"Then let's remind him shall we?"Â
Virgil couldn't help but flinch at the sudden sound of ducktape.Â
 âŠ
"- and if you don't? Well your little boy might just have a little accident."Â
Virgil's screams came out muffled as the cattleprod was once again jammed into his side.Â
 "Enough."Â
Virgil shook as he tried to recatch his breath.Â
"Well Mr. Sanders, you played your roll quite well." John told him.Â
 Virgil just glared back.Â
...
Virgil wasn't sure how long he had been in the small room. It had to have been a couple of days at least. They had taken a few more videos after his fathers response or lack thereof. Each time Virgil was beaten or tortured just shy of unconsciousness.Â
He wasn't restrained anymore at least. It's not like anyone thought he could do anything at this point.Â
He laid on the cold metal floor hoping it might somehow make his body feel less like a puddle of pain, but if it did it wasn't noticeable.Â
He flinched and curled into himself when he heard the door open. Several sets of heavy foot steps made their way towards him. He tried to curl up tighter in a meager attempt to protect himself but inevitably failed as a rough hand pulled him into a sitting position. A bright flash let him know they were taking another photo before the hand in his hair began pulling him towards the door.Â
"Hello again Mr. Sanders." John greeted pleasantly as Virgil was thrown to the deck.Â
Virgil coughed as he pushed himself to his knees, "I'm guessing he won't give you anything?"Â
"No." John hummed, "I guess you were right. He really doesn't give a shit about you."Â
"Will you let me go now?" He couldn't help but ask.Â
John smirked again in the way Virgil had unfortunately become familiar with over the last however long, "Seeing as you aren't worth any monetary value I see no reason to keep you."Â
For a brief moment there was a flicker of hope in his chest.Â
"But I've wanted to kill that father of yours for a long time now. And you do bare quite the resemblance."Â
Virgil screamed as a heavy net was suddenly thrown over him. He tried to fight off the men surrounding him as they began to wrap rope around the mess he was quickly getting tangled in.Â
"Any last words for your father?" John asked as he stood over him with a camera.Â
"I hope you both burn in hell!" Virgil hissed.Â
"I suppose we'll just have to meet you there." The man told him before nodding to one of his goons.Â
Virgil screamed out a slew of curses as he was dragged the short distance to the side of the boat. He managed to suck in a breath as he felt himself be hoisted over the side and tried not to lose it as he hit the freezing water.Â
 ~ Â
Logan's nose twitched as the faint scent of blood traveled on the weak current around him. Normally this would be a sign of an easy meal. A struggling seal, perhaps a fish that made a narrow escape, the occasional whale injured by human vessels.Â
He knew there was a boat in this area. He had been following it of course. Humans were dangerous but they were interesting and it was rare for them to be in this area.Â
Unable to resist his curiosity he quickly followed the scent to the boat.Â
The surface churned as the boat sped away but Logan barely paid it any mind as his eyes caught on something heavily tangled in one of the cursed human nets.Â
Logan knew humans used them to catch large amounts of fish. He wasn't sure why they needed so many all at once but that was one of life's great mysteries. He also knew that other creatures often got caught in them. If they were lucky the humans would let them out. If they weren't they often drowned.Â
He swam closer to the poor creature that was still struggling in the net. Whatever it was had obviously been left for dead.Â
 ~
I'm gonna die I'm gonna die I'm gonna dieâŠ
Virgil struggled as the net seemed to get tighter around him and his lungs screamed for air.Â
Oh god I'm gonna die!
He had to get out he had to get out of the net.Â
Despite his mind telling him to struggle and get out so he could breathe, his limbs started to fail him as he sank deeper into the cold water.Â
He barely felt the nudge of panic that shot through him as a shadowy figure that looked too close to a shark came closer.Â
'Sharks are coolâŠ' he thought as his vision turned dark.Â
 ~Â
Logan wasn't sure what he expected to be in the net, but he knew 'human' wasn't on his list.Â
The human's unfocused eyes landed on him for only a moment before closing. Small bubbles of air began to escape from their face as they went limp.
 That was⊠not good.Â
He quickly grabbed the net and tried to pull it upwards to the surface but barely slowed the descent caused by the heavy weights.Â
Logan looked up to the sky that grew farther and farther away. He needed to cut the weights off but the human would surely die before they would make it to the surface. There was only one thing to do if he intended to save them.
He hesitated a moment before leaning forward and pressing his lips to the humans.Â
When he pulled back the human drew in a sharp breath followed by a short coughing fit. Logan was a bit concerned they didn't wake up but at least they weren't about to drown.Â
Logan reached into his bag and pulled out his knife before moving to cut the ropes. The heavy weights quickly disappeared into the dark below and Logan began pulling the human back to the warmer water near the surface.Â
 âŠÂ
Virgil woke up cold. It took him a moment to realize he was soaking wet. Another moment passed and he realized he wasn't alone.Â
There was someone next to him, humming in an odd tone, and seeming to be messing with something covering him.Â
He managed to crack one of his eyes open just in time to see a blurry flash of what looked like a knife. He quickly closed his eyes and curled into himself causing the person above him to stop humming.Â
 ~Â
Logan knew he should've fled back to the water as soon as the human showed signs of waking. He was only part way through cutting the human out of the net when the human's eyes opened. Only for them to immediately close again and for the human to retreat into themself.Â
Logically this would be the next perfect opportunity to leave.Â
"It's alright," he said instead, "You're safe now."Â
The human flinched at the sound of his voice but made no move to look at him.Â
After a minute Logan realized he wasn't going to get an answer, "You're stuck in a net," he told them, "I was in the process of removing it when you woke up. May I continue to use my knife to get it off?"Â
The humans eyes remained screwed shut but after a moment they nodded.Â
"Alright, I'm going to start near your abdomen is that acceptable?"Â
Another nod and Logan began to cut through the plastic ropes once more. As he worked the human gradually began to relax slightly. By the time he finished the human was only marginally as tense as they had been when they woke up.Â
Logan stored his knife back in his bag, "You should be able to get out now."Â
Once again the human flinched at his voice but thankfully didn't seem as scared as before. After a few seconds, the human began to shift cautiously.Â
~
By the time the other person had spoken again Virgil was pretty sure they didn't intend to murder him. But he was still confused. The last thing he remembered was being thrown overboard and left to drown.Â
Had another boat just happened to be near enough to see it and help him? It wasn't likely but that was all he could think of.Â
Until he finally got the courage to sit up and open his eyes.Â
 ~Â
The human gasped as their eyes locked onto the sharkmers tail. They seemed to freeze for a moment before their eyes rolled back and Logan lunged forward to try and catch them.
"Oh dear," Logan said as he looked down at the once again unconscious human.Â
He looked around the area, unsure of what to do next. The sky was beginning to shift to a morning grey and more humans would undoubtedly start making their way to the currently empty beach. Logically he should leave now and let the other humans deal with it.Â
Logan was feeling very illogical today.Â
He gently laid the human back down and waited.Â
It was a bit concerning how long the human remained unconscious a second time. Logan knew it was likely due to their injuries, both seen and unseen, but for some reason he couldn't help but hope they would wake up soon.Â
Logan kept a sharp eye on the beach. Just as the sound of voices started to travel down from the cliffs the human began to show signs of waking.Â
Logan hesitated longer than he probably should have before quickly making his way back to the safety of the ocean.Â
He hid some nearby rocks and watched as the small group of arriving humans seemed to notice the figure in the sand. When they got close the group picked up speed and surrounded the injured human.Â
It wasn't long before humans in matching dark clothing appeared and took the first away.Â
Logan took that as his queue to leave as well.Â
...some time laterâŠ
Virgil stared out at the ocean as the sun slowly sank below the horizon.Â
He wasn't sure why he felt compelled to come back to the beach so often. Honestly you'd think the almost drowning in it would make him more wary of the ocean. And while there were many things he'd rather forget, and a few he probably had, he couldn't help but think about the person he saw.Â
He had met the people who found him on the beach, how he got there was still a mystery, and while they were nice people, none of them were the one he'd first seen. The one who he was pretty sure saved him and cut the net.Â
So here he was, sitting on the dock, waiting for something to happen.Â
As the sun finished sinking into the ocean he almost swore he saw a large fin break the water.Â

3: Salamander
The apprentices of Magister Hezethril seem to be dying of horrific accidents with suspicious frequency.
->contains gore, murder, non-consensual touching, yandere, threats, and extreme power imbalance (basically teacher/student).
.
.
.
Thereâs a commotion in the hallway. A crowd of apprentices, swarming together in a sea of black cloaks, have gathered in the open doorway of the alchemy laboratory. But thereâs no excitement among them, no jovial anticipation. Theyâre whispering and weeping, clinging to one another anxiously. Your heart skips a beat. It canât be. Not again. You push your way through the crowd, refusing to believe it until you see it with your own eyes, ignoring the voices all around you.
â...looks like BiancaâŠâ
â...the third this weekâŠâ
â...couldnât have done this to herselfâŠâ
âExcuse me,â you mutter, shouldering past a pair of gawking boys. Youâre hardly a step into the room when the stench hits you, sharp and unnatural, rust and ozone. Something pale green and foul-smelling is spilled across the stone floor, dripping from an upended cauldron, but whatâs worse is the blood. You can follow a trail of pain and slow suffering; a bloody handprint on the glass case in the back of the room. A smear across the table. A spattered drag across the floor, all the way to the lifeless body of an apprentice, her hands frozen in rigor mortis claws in front of her face. Her mouth is still open in a silent scream.
âWhat in the seven hells is going on in here?âÂ
The words crack like a whip through the tense air, cold and razor sharp. The crowd parts silently, allowing Magister Hezethril into the laboratory. You make way for him, scrambling out of his path. The Magister is imposing in his long red robes, towering above the apprentices and pushing them aside with webbed hands. His bronze skin turns ink black halfway down his extremities, his nails lacquered with gold. He sweeps forward wordlessly, tendrils of long black hair waving in his wake. His frightening eyes, spots of gold in black sclera, fall upon the dead apprentice. He scowls in distaste. âWho was in the room when this happened?â he asks.
A trembling apprentice steps forward, a young man with blood on his hands. âI was,â he says hoarsely. âI came in to use the lab. Bianca was already here, working on something. She dropped something into the cauldron, I didnât see what. But all of the sudden, she was gasping and convulsing. She started,â he swallows hard, his hands trembling, âscratching. At her own throat. I tried to stop her, but she fought me. She just kept scratching. There was this awful, wet noise, and then sheâŠâ One of the other apprentices puts an arm around him as he begins to sob.
âI see,â Magister Hezethril says. He turns on his heel and walks away. âClean this up,â he orders, leaving shaken apprentices in his wake. Some scatter, eager to be far away from the gruesome mess, but you stay with a handful of others. The young man who saw Bianca die sits, unresponsive, against the wall. Heâs going to need all the help he can get. Several apprentices cover Bianca with a white sheet and take the body away. You and a few of your peers begin scrubbing blood from the floor. You wince at the fleshy chunks of tissue among the mess.
Luca finds something in the bottom of the cauldron that makes him wrinkle his nose. âShe was poisoned,â he mutters. âThis brew was extremely toxic. No one in their right mind would have brewed it, but thereâs some kind of residue in the bottom. I think she was sabotaged.â He pinches a fine, ashy dust between his fingers. You canât recognize it anymore, singed as it is, but you believe him. The smell in the room leaves a distinct burning sensation in your throat.
Beside you, Sheila squeaks, âSabotage?â Sheâs had to leave the room twice to vomit, and she looks like she might need to again.
âItâs not unheard of,â Phoebe says, shrugging. She wipes Biancaâs bloodied handprints from the cabinets. âLots of mage apprentices die under suspicious circumstances. Itâs new apprentices, usually. Young, impulsive, trying to compete. They just want to get ahead.â
âI donât want to think about it,â Sheila insists. âWhatâs there to compete over, anyway? The Magister hates all of us.âÂ
That gets a bitter chuckle from everyone in the room. Working together, you get the laboratory cleaned up in no time, every trace of blood and poison mopped up and disposed of. It leaves an empty feeling within you. It feels like you do this more and more often lately, erasing all traces of your fellow apprentices. Memorial services, if there are any, happen in the distant hamlets and villages where the apprentices came from. Life in the Magisterâs tower goes on uninterrupted and youâre expected to behave as though the sudden holes opened up at certain desks and in certain dormitories simply do not exist.Â
The others are thinking about it now. You can feel that heaviness in the air even with the body gone and all traces of death washed away. Accidents happen anywhere you gather inexperienced mages, but not nearly this many, not so close together. Thereâs a field south of the tower full of fresh graves and wooden crosses. âWhy isnât the Magister doing anything?â Sheila whimpers. âIs this what he wants? Are we all supposed to kill each other until only one of us is left?â
âOf course not,â you insist. You give her the water pail you were going to use to rinse your hands, letting her take it first. She sniffles as she scrubs Bianca from beneath her nails. âThe Magister must know somethingâs happening. Maybe heâs just being careful. He doesnât want to say anything until heâs certain he knows whoâs responsible.â
âAre you kidding? Magisters get off on things like this,â Phoebe says, rolling her eyes. âItâs a power trip for them. You saw how he looked at Bianca, right? Like she was an insect. He only cares about his favorites. Bet you get extra credit for offing somebody.âÂ
âThatâs awful,â you tell her.Â
She shrugs. âThatâs life.âÂ
âI assume youâre done in here if you have time to gossip.âÂ
The Magisterâs voice is like ice down your back. Sheila practically sprints from the room. Phoebe sheepishly greets him and keeps her head down as she leaves. Luca eyes the Magister suspiciously but passes without a word. âMagister,â you address him, bowing your head. He holds out his arm when you try to step past him.Â
âJust a moment, apprentice,â he says. Youâve heard him speak to your peers, reducing them to tears with nothing but his hard gaze alone. But when he looks at you, his strange gaze softens with affection. He says âapprenticeâ as though itâs a term of endearment. You shift uneasily, peering into the hallway behind him in search of your friends, but theyâre long gone. A sinking feeling overtakes you when he bumps the laboratory door with his elbow, shutting it behind him. âI wonât keep you long,â he assures you. âSolstice preparations will begin soon. Could I persuade you to assist me?â
Could I persuade you, he says. A phrase unheard of, coming from the mouth of an elder mage. They donât ask favors. They donât plead or beg. They give orders, and apprentices jump to follow them. Magister Hezethril is no different, but for you, he will dress up the truth in pretty language, will say it sweetly so it scares you less. But you know better. You hear the threat unspoken. His hand hooks beneath your chin, demanding eye contact. The webbing between his fingers is soft and damp, slick against your skin. âYes, Magister,â you say quietly. âI would be happy to assist you.â
The Magisterâs smiles are uncomfortable, too wide and hungry, too inhuman. âExcellent,â he says. âSee to it that your schedule is open, Iâll need you the next few evenings for preliminary research.â
âOf course,â you say. âBut, ah, I will need tomorrow evening to myself.â
âOh?â the Magister says, sounding so unconcerned and casual that you almost slip up, forget who youâre talking to. âAnd why is that?â You try, subtly, to slip out of his grasp. A mistake, you realize too late, Magister Hezethrilâs pupils narrow into slits and he corners you against the back cabinets, slamming his hand against the wooden panels beside your head. You hear the cabinet door splinter, feel it shaking and collapsing inward. You hold your breath. The Magister bends slightly from his great height, his gaze piercing and heated. âWhere are you going, apprentice?â he hisses. âWhy the rush? Are you hiding something from me?âÂ
âIâm not, I swear Iâm not,â you insist, too weak and hesitant to convince him. You can never lie to him. He always drags the truth out, one way or another. âI just...I promised one of the others that Iâd tutor them in incantation.â
The Magister makes a frightening, inhuman sound, somewhere between a hiss and a growl, flashing fangs and a black, forked tongue. âThis again?â he mutters. âHow many times must I tell you that you are above them? They do not deserve your attention. How could you possibly learn everything I have to teach you when you are too busy with these wastrels you call your peers?â He doesnât give you time to answer, nor the space to breathe. His sharp nails trace your jaw, titling your face towards him when you try to turn away. He looms so close you can smell the fire in his lungs, magic that could reduce you to ash if he so desired.Â
âIt would be such a shame, wouldnât it, if another apprentice were to die,â he murmurs, looming inches from you, his breath warming your lips. âSuch a terrible waste. So many accidents these last few months. So many dead.âÂ
âPlease,â you whisper, clutching his shoulders. His robes bunch up beneath your grip but itâs worthless. Heâs so much older and stronger than you. âPlease donât hurt anyone else.âÂ
Magister Hezethril tilts his head, drinking in your fear and submission. He traces your lips with the sharp tip of one nail. âAre you available tomorrow, apprentice?â he asks.Â
âYes,â you say shakily. âYes, I swear, Iâm all yours.â
Itâs just what he wants to hear. Smiling, he pulls you into his chest. Gently, he smooths down your hair where it ruffled against the cupboards, pushing the creases from your cloak. But he pauses as he does this, catching sight of the thick turtleneck fabric youâre wearing beneath. He toys with it, peeling it down to expose tender flesh. You shiver under the attention, the careful stroke of his fingers along your pulse. âYou arenât just yet,â he says. âBut thatâs alright. I can be very, very patient.â
You wince when he slices into you, just enough to break the skin. He rolls your turtleneck back up. The wound throbs hot underneath. âSee you tomorrow, apprentice,â he purrs. You nod numbly. The laboratory opens and slams the shut, the sound echoing off the stone walls.

Disclaimer: I wrote this some time ago, when I was very sleepy. How they could've met before the exchange? I love stupid references don't@ me lol
Warning: slight NSFW at the end (under the cut)
Put a spell on me |Solomon X m!Reader
Saying Solomon was feeling under the weather was an understatement. He felt like absolute shit. His stomach was recoiling, giving him the impression he had to vomit, but couldn't. Resulting in him being wobbly on his feet. Although, he was currently trying to sober up. The lack of water caused his head to hurt, while he walked alongside the river to go back to his apartment. He was in no shape to teleport, not with the sense of orientation he had right now.
A frustrated groan escaped him as he grabbed onto the metal fence beside the river, letting gravity take over as he slouched down onto the floor.
It was a beautiful night, you could see the starry sky reflecting in the river. The silence only being disturbed by some outlandish music in the distance. Somewhere, there was another party raving besides the witches sabbath he had successfully escaped.
He knew he shouldn't have accepted that many drinks from the witches. But it had been a successful year, he was only going back to the Devildom next week... And, probably, going to meet that other exchange student by then.
"Hey fam, you okay?" A voice slurred above him, blocking the blinding streetlights before him.
"Yeah yeah, thank you for your concern-," Solomon looked up surprised. He thought he was the only one here-
"Here ," a handsome guy, probably not a sorcerer, held out a bottle of water to him, grinning friendly. "You gotta stay hydrated when drunk."
"Uhm.. thanks?" Solomon chuckled. "That's nice, but I hear I shouldn't accept drinks from kind strangers"
Their hair reflected in the warm light, along with unfocused eyes glistening in the dark, when he shot Solomon a kind smile.
Solomon suspected he was from where the music was coming from. Another rave or party or whatever, since he was wearing flashy attire and sweat was glistening on his smooth skin.
From dancing, maybe? It wasn't that warm. Rather fresh, if Solomon would say so himself.
"Hmmm", the stranger put a hand on his chin. "I guess, I'm feelin' a biiiiit brave tonight haha. Here, I'll take a sip from it first."
He chucked down a bit of water. "There."
Solomon just stared at him for a solid second. Maybe, probably, surely, this was the alcohol. But this stranger had something alluring about him. His glistening lips from the water made Solomon unable to do anything else but stare.
"You going to take it, or not?"
"Ah yes", Solomon grabbed the bottle and took a sip before putting it back down again.
"May I sit with you?" He put a hand on his neck and averted his gaze. "I- uhm came here to get away from all the noise for a bit- I don't wanna be creepy or anything-"
"Oh- Yes of course! Don't worry about it"
The grin returned to his face as he slouched down beside him. "Thank you."
Solomon took another chug of water. He didn't really have anywhere to be, nor did he have the strength to go home anyways. So he figured he might as well sober up, while making some new memories.
"Out of curiosity.. what do you mean by brave?" Solomon smirked at him.
"Well...", the stranger just smiled, a slight tint of colour dusting his cheeks. "You're pretty handsome. And I normally can't ask out guys for the heck of it.. so yeah. I'd say I'm being stupidly brave by talking to someone as hot as you."
The sorcerer laughed. "How very direct"
"Must be the alcohol", he chuckled. "I don't know anyone around here.. and I have a habit of drinking too much when I'm at social gatherings without friends.. What about you? Why are you here all alone?.. If it's okay to ask, at least."
"Ah it's okay~ I'm trying to sober up from drinking too", Solomon sighed. "It was an exhausting night.."
The stranger nodded sighing. "Tell me about it."
"So.. what are you celebrating?"
And so, they proceeded to talk about the reasons why they were here. Their conversation slowly but surely going of its original rails, from politics to religion to light-hearted shows and childhood memories.
Solomon, of course, didn't go into much detail about magic nor anything like that. They were simply trailing off into more and more different topics, running their tongues because of the alcohol.
"Wait, people avoid you when you invite them?" He asked in shock, "Even after you offer to cook for them?! Woah, that's rude after everything you've done..."
Solomon hung his head in disappointment. "I really don't know what the issue is, you know? It's not like they outright avoid me when we nee- want to hang out, but everytime I offer my hospitality they just.. you know?"
"Shiiiit bro... ," he thought for a bit, then joked, "Maybe your cooking sucks?"
Solomon sighed dramatically, proceeding to pout. "Can't blame the tasteless."
"Just kidding kidding!!" he smiled sympathetically, "Maybe it's best if you ask them directly about it. Honesty is always key, no matter where you're from."
Solomon remembered something.
"So, I'm guessing you're not from around here?"
The stranger looked him up and down, seeming to think for a bit and then smirking back at him.
"You tell me, wizard boy. Am I?"
"Oh? How do you know?"
"Know what?"
"That I'm", Solomon gesticulated dramatically, "a wizard."
He became serious and leaned closer to Solomon, putting a hand on his shoulder. Solomon's breath hitched ever so slightly as the stranger's intense gaze held him entranced.
"You're a wizard, Harry."
"Huh?"
The stranger wheezed at his reference, as Solomon finally understood and erupted into laughter himself.
He stopped himself to respond seriously:
"..A wizard?"
"Don't you feel it ," the stranger put their hand over Solomon's heart, making his heart pound a bit harder, which surprised him, "...,Mister Krabs?"
"Huh- What?-"
After a perplexed pause they looked at each other and wheezed and cackled in the cursed manner your friends laugh when someone tells a ridiculous, dumb joke.
As they sat there, next to a river enveloped by the light of street lamps in a park, their laughter erupted through the silent night. Nothing but very faint music could be heard in the distance. Solomon didn't even know why he was laughing so hard. It was a stupid reference. And this stranger was clearly out of it.
There was something about him... Solomon just couldn't put his finger to it.
"S-so haha you're a man of culture as well~", Solomon calmed down, "What's your name?"
" Of course~ (y/N)." The stranger responded smiling, wiping away a tear. "Yours?"
"Solomon.", he answered reciprocating the smile.
"Solomon the wise?"
"Yes." He shot him a knowing glance. "So you do know me~"
"Oh yes~" (y/N)'s fingers slid over Solomon's coat. "You dress like a wizard, you look like a wizard aaaaand your named after King Solomon the wise. Great literature surrounds you: like Ars Goëtia and the lesser keys of, well, you", their gaze turned to look into the sorcerer's grey eyes.
With that, Solomon understood.
This person didn't know him . He knew of his tales, the legends, basically fairy tales.
He was like most humans... Unaware of the magical world he lived in. The realisation stung a bit, but the sorcerer decided to play along anyways as he felt himself sobering up.
"Well, I can't disappoint a fan like yourself now, can I?" Solomon smirked.
"Ohh~ So are you going to show me any tricks?" (y/N) laughed, standing up challengingly. "Come at me with your best shot, wizard boy~"
Solomon didn't know why, but he felt the urge to impress the young man.
"Hmm", he stood up, although a bit wobbly. "Alright. But I'll need an assistant~"
"Oh my oh myyy" (y/N) excitedly clapped their hands together. "I'll sacrifice myself for the greater good then."
Solomon chuckled, shooting him a provocative glance through his lashes at which he thought he saw (y/N) blushing.
"So, (y/N), are you ready?"
"I'm was born ready"
Solomon offered him his hand. "Take my hand, my cute assistant~"
"Oh my, and he has a way with words", (y/N) overdramatically took his hand, "The ladies will die if you do that, you know?"
"Oh will they now?", Solomon pulled him towards himself, "What effect do you think Hecate's power will have on you?"
"I like your funny words, magic man", (y/N) smirked playfully. "Tell me more~"
Solomon scoffed. This guy is a walking reference book.
"Have you ever danced with a sorcerer in the pale moonlight?", he asked, putting another hand on (y/N)'s waist, said man's breath hitching.
"W-well, I'm pretty sure the proverb goes different, Solomon", he put a hand on his counterpart's shoulder as he let Solomon take the lead, "I thought you were going to show me a trick though~"
"Patience is a virtue", he simply said teasingly.
"-and a pain", (y/N) retorted, while taking the first step back.
"So you know how to waltz?", Solomon began to lead.
"School taught me many things", he imitated a rough old man voice, "You youngsters would never understand"
Solomon tried to contain his need to laugh.
"Aha~ Funny, enlighten me?"
"Well, I don't know what they teach in wizard boy-school", they turned, " But back in my day, they tried to teach me calculus"
Solomon quirked a brow. "Tried?" Then he spun (y/N) around.
"Well, I was busy drawing into my notes", his cold hand slipped to Solomon's neck, making the sorcerer tense up.
"And what kind of Mona Lisa-worth drawings were you working on? I bet only of the highest quality~", sarcasm dripped from his voice as he shot (y/N) a teasing smile.
"Oh you can't even imagine~", (y/N) rolled his eyes in an exaggerated manner before shooting him a deadpan look, "Penises mostly"
A laugh escaped Solomon. "How refined"
"I am nothing but refined, sir~"
Solomon spun him around again, matching no pace in particular, as he pulled him closer to his chest this time. A small gasp left (y/N)'s mouth.
"H-hey now, be careful there. Or do you want me to fall?"
Solomon's lips pursed up in amusement, but quickly froze as he looked into the man's face.
(y/N)'s expression was contorted in utter joy, like he couldn't contain their grin. He looked stupidly adorable...
Solomon felt his heart clench at the sight. But he quickly snapped out of it as he shot (y/N) another charming smile.
"So, about 'the ladies dying' at my charm.."
"You're still on about that?" (y/N) chuckled amused, "Give it a rest wizard boy. We get it, you're handsome-"
"What about you?" his cheeks burned as he felt himself getting... Nervous? That's new.
Solomon hoped the darkness wouldn't give him away, "How do you feel about my 'charm'?"
For a second everything stood still and they both came to a stop. Their eyes locked and silence engulfed them. Tension began to claw at both man's braveness, as realisation struck them. This encounter had progressively turned into something more. Not some random thing.
It felt like..
(y/N) averted his gaze, face flushing a bright red as he chuckled nervously. "It... It takes a bit more for me to die, Sol.."
Fate.
"Is that so?", Solomon's fingers interlaced with his as he slowly inched closer.
"I mean.. you could find out..." (y/N)'s eyes slowly closed when-
Strings of colourful magic sparked around them.
"Huh?!" His eyes shot wide open, grip tightening on Solomon's hands, "What-"
(y/N) looked around stunned and extremely surprised.
"So? How was that for a 'magic trick'?"
(y/N)'s gaze returned to face him. "Y-you.. How?"
The sorcerer just hummed. "Who knows?"
"This... Must be a dream then..", he sighed disappointed, a tinge of sadness in his voice, "That's a bummer.. I really like you."
Now it was Solomon's turn to blush.
"I- I understand the confusion, but- mph?!"
With that his lips pressed onto Solomon's.
The sorcerer froze, while (y/N)'s mouth opened a little, slipping his tongue through Solomon's mouth. He tasted like sweet liquor, further entrancing the sorcerer in a passionate kiss.
Solomon got over his shock quickly as his hands found the other's waist, pulling him towards himself. When (y/N) sighed into the kiss, hands burying into his white locks, excitement shot through his spine.
Solomon pressed him against a nearby tree. He grew hot as (y/N)'s soft, wet lips brushed against his, the passion growing with each passing second.
"Mnh hah", (y/N) parted for a second, a string of saliva connecting them, lips barely brushing against his, "This.. feels too real though.."
"Because it is- ", Solomon panted against his mouth, connecting their lips again with more of his own vigor this time. His tongue eagerly brushing over the other's.
God, what was he doing?
What was he doing??
But fuck it felt so good.
He couldn't resist the desire to touch (y/N) more and more. He wanted him closer and it showed.
As if on cue, (y/N)'s hand slid over Solomon's pants, suddenly palming his half hard erection and making him moan into the other's mouth longingly.
"Mnn- (y/N) wait.."
"Mnh? Oh sorry-!", he stopped abruptly.
"N-no I mean... Let's.. let's go to my place-"
"Oh~" (y/N) smiled and kissed him again, teeth pulling at his bottom lip as he parted panting.
"Alright then. Show me the way, wizard-boy~"

aparecium â takata mashiho
warnings: grammartical errors
words: 1.8k words
pairing: hufflepuff headboy mashiho! + fem reader
notes: this is my first hogwarts imagine of treasure.... i hope you guys enjoy this!!!
You quickly close your thick black book as Professor Flitwick walks towards your table, hiding the book under the table, and practices the charms he has been taught for that day.
"Give it a flick, Y/N" Professor Flitwick said
"Ascendio" you point to the feather in front of you, lifting it.
Professor Flitwick nods, murmuring a good job to you before passing through you.
You sigh in relief the professor is cool unlike Professor Snape, he surely will take the books and read what you've been writing on in front of the class.
"Mashi! Help me" you look up to the person who calls Mashi or Mashiho. You smile as the boy in the yellow tie helps the boy with their spell. You head over heels towards the head boy of the Hufflepuff, in your eyes, he is like Ron Weasley to your Hermione Granger.
Mashiho is boyfriend material, he is head boy, teacher's pet, he is the seeker in Quidditch, and one of the students who take NEWT. Everyone knows it is hard to study for NEWT, and yet this boy takes the NEWT like it's nothing to him, nobody has ever seen him struggle studying NEWT. He is indeed Hermione number 2.
"Okay, class dismissed, for those who take NEWT, there's only a month left since your examination, I hope you are all prepared and of course you welcome to my office if you need any help" Professor Flitwick announce class about NEWT making you sigh. Yes, you are one of the students who take NEWT, at first you want to take O.W.L instead of NEWT but your mom said it will be great if you try to take the exam, and here you are struggling to get a good grade for your final year in Hogwarts.
You left the class and walk towards the library, it is your free time, you are willing to study for the upcoming exam than joining your friend watching Quidditch training.
You enter the library, feeling calm by the silence, you making your way to the potion section to study more about potions that you need to do on your examination soon.
You frown as you see the book you've been searching for is on the top of the shelf, you tiptoe to reach the shelf, but who are we kidding here? The top shelf is too high for you like in a usual k-drama scene, someone grabs the book you make you turn around, eyes getting bigger when you realized the person that helps you.
"Mashi?"
"You know, it's your last year in Hogwarts, why donât you just cast Wingardium Leviosa?" he asks, handing you the book while showing you his sly smile
"Uh, we can't depend on everything on magic you know?" you answer
"I see, you're an independent girl," he said making you blush, you also didn't know why you're blushing at his word? Perhaps he talking to you while being this close making you shy?
"Uh, thanks? I guess?"
Mashiho laughs at your awkwardness
"You take NEWT too right? Why don't we study together?" he offers.
Now your brain is malfunctioning. Mashiho offers you to study together?? Is this not a dream? You mentally slap yourself and look at him again
"Sure, what do you want to study?" you ask
"Potion. I need to pass if I don't want to see Professor Snape's face again" he said making you chuckle, a teacher's pet tattle behind them? Impressive.
"Yeah me too," you said and he leads you to his usual spot.
âSo Y/N tell me why you take NEWT?â he asks. You raised your brow to him, did he just... Underestimate you?
âUh, donât misconstrue my words. I'm just curious since almost all students at Hogwarts refuse to take NEWT and you takeâ you know what? Just ignore my questionâ he said, his face turns slightly red making you smile, you canât be mad at him for too long, he is so cute! You just wanna pinch his cheek.
âWell my mom made me, and I thought itâs not hurt to give it a tryâ you answers
âWell, your parents must be proud of you for study hard, I admit this exam is so hard I felt like crying when I study the same chapter again and again,â he said
You are surprised to see he is openly sharing his thought with you, well youâre not that close with him and even his friends doesnât know he is struggling to get a good grade.
âI heard a rumor that you never struggle at study but I guess itâs all wrong thenâ
âWell, I donât think showing my struggle changes anything? I donât even know whoâs spread all the news, why donât they just minding their own business?â he whines
âYeah, trueâ you replied, and focusing on your book, but in your head, you already screaming at the top of your lungs because Mashiho is so cute when focusing on something. You were surprised you didnât explode at this point.
+.*
A week passes since you and Mashihoâs studying together in the library, it was a good day because after that he offers you to eat dinner together with him. You couldnât stop thinking about that day if only there's a spell to freeze time.
Secretly bringing out your thick black book, you open to the blank space and writes something on the page using invisible ink. Thereâs one thing you like about magic, you can do whatever you want without others knowing.
âOiâ your friend whispers to you, scrunching her face seeing you doing something else instead of brewing a potion
âWhat?â you whisper back, your hands still jotting something on the book
âSnape will kill you if he saw you do something else, you fool!â she slaps your hand, you roll your eyes, you didnât prefer to study now because since morning you have class nonstop. You can't take it anymore all you need now is rest or a hot bath.
âUgh fine,â you said and put your book above some random book.
A sigh comes out from your mouth and continues to brew your veritaserumâ the truth serum for your NEWT, you lazily stir the potion that looks like water, you wonder if someone drinks a drop of this potion how much truth will they spill out? Since Professor Snape said that 3 drops of this serum are enough to make a person reveals their deepest secret, this potion is scary no wonder the process is difficult.
You heard a laugh from across your table making you look up, your exhausted body feels recharged by his laugh. Mashihoâs laugh, you smile seeing him joking around with his friends which later being scolded by Professor Snape, he noticed you look at him and wink at you.
You feel like time stop for a moment, did he just wink at you? Gosh, he really driving you crazy.
You break the gaze and focusing on your potion, frustrated by his wink.
Minutes later, Snape dismissed the class and Mashiho walks towards you
Why? Why is he coming here? You thought
âY/N, you free this evening?â he asks
You slowly nod your head, although you donât want to go anywhere and rather spent your day in your dorm, you still nod to his question like hypnotized by his gaze.
âCool, so do you want to study together again? You great at potions, reallyâ Mashiho said
You blushing. Again. You thought he must think you a fool, blushing for no reason.
âAh yes I would love to!â you said
âSo, I meet you at 5, in the library?â
â5 it isâ you answers and take your books while smiling at him.
+.*
Your chest becomes tight as it becomes hard to breathe, you wander around your dorm, as you realized you take the wrong book! This black book on your bed is not yours. It fills with some charms and potions notes. Your book is emptyâ well not empty, itâs just written in invisible ink. But still, you feel nervous if someone cast an aparecium spell on it, which is a spell to reveal secret messages that are written with invisible ink.
You take the book and run towards the potion class, hoping the book will be at the last place you put it.
âProfessor Snapeâ you pants, holding on your chest catching on your breathing.
âWhat did you want L/N?â he asks in a monotonous tone
âDid you see my black book here?â you ask
âIs your responsibility to take care of your things L/N. Thereâs nothing hereâ he said sternly
You mentally roll your eyes at him, he could say no and you donât waste your time here and search for your book.
âAlright, thank you, professor,â you said and your looks at your watch it was already 5 pm.
âOh shoot, Mashi must be waiting for me,â you said and running again to the library.
You assume you will die anytime soon if you keep running like this, you enter the library and catching your breath before approaching Mashiho at his usual place.
âHeyâ he frowns when he sees your forehead cover with sweat.
âDid you run?â he asks
âUh yes, Iâm afraid if I'm late,â you said and wipe your sweat using your sleeve
Mashiho let out a chuckle
âI donât mind waiting, you shouldn't run you could fall,â he said
You smile at him, you could feel butterflies in your stomach. How is he even real?
âOh, before we startâ um I think we exchanged books at potion earlierâ he hands you the black book that you have been searching this entire evening
âOh my, youâre life saviorâ wait how did you know this is my book?â you raise one brow to him, you didnât write your name in this book unless...
âIâm sorry I didn't mean to cast that spell but I need to know who's this book belongs to! And when I saw my name on the first page I couldn't help myself but read...â he said, you could see guilty in his eyes
âI- I'm sorry, you just think that I'm creepy right?â now you realized how creepy if someone writes an entire book about you without your consent.
âNo, I appreciate you noticed my details when I play Quidditch. No one ever notices my strategy for Quidditch, youâre the first oneâ he cracks up.
âOh..â thatâs the only words you could say, well the atmosphere is awkward right now!?!?
âDid you like me that much, Y/N?â he tease you
âBased on the book, it will be a lie if I said no,â you said
âWell, donât worry because I like you too. I didnât know how to approach you at first but luckily you canât reach the top shelfâ he said
You finally can look at him in his eyes. Well, this is one of the benefits to not use magic all the time, right?

âIâm not very good at flirting, am I?â
Warnings: Cringey attempts at flirting?
Pairing: Remus Lupin x Reader
Words: 2k
Summary: Remus is nervous for your first study date, or date? Is it a date?Â
You were quite oblivious when it came to people who fancied you. Howard Lewis, from house Ravenclaw, practically had heart eyes for you and attempted to ask you out every Saturday morning whilst you drank your tea. The only response he was given was a hum and a sweet reply back,Â
âIâm not planning on doing anything but reading my novel,â Â
You frustrated a lot of boys in your year, and even in the year above. You must know, right? You mustâve known that at least half of your house and even more boys from the other houses have tried to flirt with you and received nothing back. But you didnât. You loved blind. And, not to mention, quite peculiar as you obliviously ignored your suitors. You spent days feeling quite lonely and even longed for a handsome fellow to sweep you off your feet and into the forbidden forest. Remus Lupin thought you were peculiar as well, but not peculiar as in a bizarre fashion, instead, he thought of you strangely amazing. He found himself gifted the seat to the right of yours during Transfigurations and was kept his glances towards you to only a few per minute. He was smitten. And he was speechless when you approached him one Saturday morning, unaware of your rejection to a Mr. Lewis of Ravenclaw, and asked him to study with you.
âHello Remus,â you said, he greeted you politely and with reddened ears, he knew he would get teased for later, âI was wondering if you were not too busy after lunch if you could help me study a bit of Transfigurations. I find it actually quite difficult and would rather McGonagall not deducted points from my house.â
Remus nodded quickly and stuttered out, âYes, I. Where should I meet me? You? I mean, you.â he quickly wanted to slam his face into his porridge but you seemed to enjoy his response and giggled.
âThereâs a tree near the lake; if you bring your textbook I can bring a blanket for us to sit on?â you offered, âI swear I have the comfiest blankets in my dorm.â Remus sent you an embarrassed smile and watched you longingly as you spun and left the Great Hall, a steaming mug of tea in your hand.
Sirius clapped his hand on Remusâ shoulder rather harshly, heâd say, and let out a bark, âHow the hell did you do it?â Remus snapped out of his gaze to look at his three friends who stared at him in wonder.
âDo... what? Exactly?â Remus begged his face to go back to his original pale colour and stirred his breakfast with a spoon.
âI believe you have a date with a Ms. Y/L/N.â Sirius grinned boyishly and hooted, âRemus, how did you do it!âÂ
âSirius, get your hand off me before I feed it to the giant squid and leave your body for dessert, and itâs not a date,â Remus grumbled and shifted awkwardly in his seat.Â
âNo, really, mate, how did you manage to get a date with Y/L/N? How did you get her to ask you on a date?â Peter pushed closer to Remus and jokingly added, âOh Moony, you know love potions are illegal to give to other students, correct?â Remus shoved Peter aside and looked for James for help.
âItâs not a date! Prongs?âÂ
James put his hands up in defense, âNot me, Moons, I canât help you as I think youâve just scored yourself a date with Y/N. But, what I can help you with is Lewis as I think heâs going to absolutely fuck you up by the looks of it,â James stood up and did the âI see youâ motion towards Howard and yelled, âOi, Leeeeewis, you jealous? Yeah, you better be. Fix your bloody eyes, mate, youâve got a starinâ problem!âÂ
This time, Remus actually did slam his head into the breakfast table.
Lunch flew by and Remus couldnât do anything but fiddle. He had run to and from the common room and dorms, a few times just to ensure he had all the right things. To say he was nervous was an understatement. Was this a date? Did you want to date him? Why him? Remus flopped down on the couch next to Sirius and buried his face in his hands.
âAlright, I give up. I need your help,â he mumbled,
âYou? Ask ME for help? The god of dating and sex himself?â Sirius asked dramatically, placing a hand on his chest and inhaling sharply.
âOh will you just- sod off will you? And just tell me, exactly how you flirt?â
âMoony we only have a few hours, I cannot possibly teach you the essence of the Black seduction in a few hours.â Â
âThe only thing youâll be seeing is black unless you-âÂ
Sirius shot his head back and laughed, âRelax Moony, perhaps we should do some yoga to loosen you up. Are your buttocks in a twist? You can tell me.â Suddenly Remus regretted asking Sirius for help but took notes on his flirting technique anyways.
âOh hello! Come join me, please!â Remus felt everything he had eaten and all of his organs drop, his tongue swelled up and he began to sweat under his sweater. Seeing you in the fall light made him internally (and externally) swoon but he attempted to take a deep breath. He began to try and mimic the way Sirius walked through the halls, putting swagger in his hips. âRemus, youâre being silly, perhaps youâve been spending too much time with your silly boys, come sit! Donât be shy.â You smiled again, making Remus forget the stupid stupid walk he learned from Sirius and just sat down.Â
âYou were right,â he said in surprise, âthis blanket is extremely soft.â
âWould I lie to you, Mr. Lupin? Feel free to lie on it, Iâve taken a few naps on it âmself, though I probably shouldâve focused on my potions essay instead.â Remus would rather nap on your soft thighs and feel your fingers slide through his hair, but he chuckled and replied,
âIf I did, who would study with you?â
You pouted your lip slightly, making Remus clench the book he was taking out, âI suppose youâre right. I couldnât fathom studying with anyone else.â Were you flirting with him? You seemed to lean closer to Remus, wanting to feel his warmth. But, Remus couldnât place whether or not you were acting flirtatious due to the immense amount of nerves in his system. The two of you began to study, Remus would provide a word and you a definition. Much to his nervous delight, your conversation ran rather smoothly and no awkward lull of silence was provided.Â
Might as well go for it, Remus thought and glanced at the piece of parchment he tucked away in his bag. He cleared his throat and rubbed his sweaty palms on his pants.
âSo, Y/N...â he trailed off, almost getting lost again in your gaze,Â
âYes?â
âYouâre so cute, I think if, I think if you were, I think if you were a boggart, no,â he fumbled quickly with his words making you furrow your eyebrow.Â
Perhaps he is having a stroke? You thought.
âIf, I think. If you were a... since youâre so cute, and if, a boggart you were, or Iâd have... youâd be a.. cute... one?â If Remus could die, he wouldâve. On the spot. If he could be struck by lightning and guided to the pearly gates that muggles seem to dream about, he would. In fact, he would even rather be sent to the fiery pits of hell than listen to what he was saying. His attempt at flirting had gone disastrously as he licked his lips in anticipation of your reply. He watched as you looked at him and began to blink rapidly. A wide smile spread across your lips as you let a small laugh slip out.
âRemus Lupin,â You began, sitting up, âAre you flirting with me?â You continued to giggle, almost shyly.Â
âWhat? No! I mean, yes. Maybe? Because I said, the boggart, and cute and...âÂ
Remus Lupin, you are an idiot. He thought
âIâm not very good at flirting, am I?â he stared at your smiling face before realizing how mortifying the last minute of his life was. âExcuse me while I jump into the lake now.â You bit your lip to stifle the laughter and held his forearm.
âRemus,â you said softly, âI thought it was quite lovely actually.âÂ
He sighed and shook his head, âyou donât have to protect my feelings, Y/N, Iâm more than happy to die over his embarrassing moment. I feel like a right and foolish prat right about now.â
âIâll say it again, I thought it was very sweet. Iâve never been flirted before, so it was new for me as well.â Remusâ eyes nearly bulged out of his skull as he became redder and shook his head.
âNo no, thatâs not true. I know half a dozen Ravenclaws and Hufflepuffs who are mad for you! And Howard Lewis even asks you out every Saturday!âÂ
Now it was your turn to be confused, âWhat are you talking about, Remus?â
âThe... the!!â Remus was exasperated, âboys fancy you.â
âNo, they donât?â You began making Remus want to rip his hair out.
âYes, they do!â
âRemus, no boy has fancied me in the entirety of my life, you must be mad.â
âWell, I fancy you!â He blurted out making you instantly blush,
âOh.âÂ
âYes. And. Iâm terribly and dreadfully awful at flirting but I wanted to try and show you that I do actually, um, like you.â
âOh,â It became quiet, not silent, but quiet. âWell, I,â
âY/N, you donât have to say anything, we can forget about it and just study.â You tried to speak again but he cut you off, âReally, itâs okay. It was foolish and stupid and dumb and immature-â
âDonât I get to say anything, Mr. Flirtatious?â You teased and brushed off your skirt, âI fancy you as well if you didnât pick that up already, and truthfully, I did find your flirting, while disastrous, to be extremely and utterly adorable.â Remus blinked before an awkward, toothy smile rose. âIâm glad we got that settled then, yeah?â You nodded at Remus before he continued after you,Â
âNow, may I at least ask you a few questions?â
You hummed in response.
âSo is, is this a date?âÂ
âDo you want it to be?â you asked,
âYes.â
âThen itâs a date.â
âLovely,â Remus felt more and more joyous, ânow, did you really not know that every boy in Hogwarts was pining over you?â
You quickly shook your head, âWhy would I? I havenât given a care about any of them until you came âround.â
âAnd the blanket?â
âI brought the blanket so we could read and lay on it,â
Remus was satisfied with his answers and longed to lean in to kiss you. He, and his absolutely dumb-witted nerves, decided to save it for a second date and held your hand instead. Fingers threaded and interlocked, you gave him a reassuring squeeze.
âThat reminds me, do you have that extra book in your bag I seemed to have misplaced mine and I-â you reached into Remusâ bag and before he could react, you pulled out the piece of parchment with all the bloody pickup lines Sirius had fed him.
âIs this...?â You asked,
âYes.â He quickly answered. Your eyes scanned the page in amusement.
âWhy didnât you go with âAre you a snitch? Because youâre the greatest catch here,â I think that one is much better suited than âuh, cute, boggart, uh, you, and if I were,â you mocked him jokingly before leaning back comfortably on his chest. He could sing with happiness and leap off the face of the Earth.
âHey, so maybe flirting isnât my strong suit.â
âI say this as sweetly as I can, I think you better stick to Transfigurations instead.â      Â

Part of why I like Shikamaru testing the would-be chunin with Kakashiâs principles so much is that Kakashi living by those words keeps Obito alive through them, right? And Obito already had those values, but he was verbalizing them in connection to why he believes Sakumo was a hero, so this combined principle that defines who Sakumo, Obito, and Kakashi are, is now going to live on in Naruto, Shikamaru, and the rest of their generation. And ofc âdonât put the rules above your comradesâ is a good way to live regardless of whether any of their names are attached to itâŠI dunno, is it dumb to just want this to be Kakashiâs legacy over his other prowess/renown? (x)
NO IT IS NOT; I AM RIGHT THERE WITH YOU! (And I agree with what you said, that this is likely already how heâs going to be remembered - and Iâm so grateful for that, because I think we know that there are many things in Kakashiâs life that have brought him renown but that he doesnât want to be remembered for. Thinking specifically about that scene where Kakashi takes out an enemy and Yamato makes that comment about âkeep this up and youâll be famous,â and Kakashi is clearly so uncomfortable with that...Kakashi doesnât want that kind of recognition, the kind you earn from being particularly efficient at killing people. He doesnât want to go down in history as âcold-blooded Kakashiâ - that was never something he wanted to be known as in the first place.)
Anyway, I was partway through writing the below post when I saw your replies about Kakashiâs family/legacy in relation to the new Chunin exams, and I just went, âwe REALLY are having the exact same thoughts about this showâ đ€ so Iâm just turning the rest of this post into a response to your comments, because I could not possibly agree with your angle on this topic more, and I knew my response wasnât going to fit in the replies XD
The thing I kept thinking about when I saw that Shikamaruâs version of the Chunin exams was passing/failing students based on Kakashiâs criteria was that this is a HUGE paradigm shift for the Leaf Village (and for shinobi culture as a whole). The new exams say that if you abandon a teammate to complete your mission (aka to pass your test), youâve made the wrong decision. The mark of a worthy shinobi, in this new framework, is your commitment to choosing peopleâs lives over the success of your mission. But to have something like this enshrined into the Chunin exams would have been unthinkable in earlier generations.  When Kakashiâs father made a decision like this, he was breaking the law, and nothing about his choice was considered honorable or worthy or in any way acceptable. He was blamed for it by the Land of Fire and the Leaf Village, âslandered and vilifiedâ by his peers (even the ones whose lives he saved), and hounded to the point of suicide. And even as little as four years ago, when Kakashi started working as a Jonin Leader, his philosophy for evaluating genin was still notorious, and his standards were considered to be abnormal (âItâs a good thing we didnât get that jonin everybody talks aboutâ/âWho does he think he is, making up his own criteria?â). Â
But just a few short years later, the script has been completely flipped. Now you canât even become a chunin unless you demonstrate your commitment to putting your comradesâ lives first. And I just keep thinking about how that must feel for Kakashi, to see the systems that punished his father so mercilessly finally start to crumble and fall. To see a shift in the culture that indoctrinated Itachi and brainwashed Yamato into murdering family and friends, on the pretense that it was necessary for the sake of a mission. To see the values Kakashi has tried to live by ever since Obitoâs death incorporated into the official structures of the shinobi world, when previously they were grounds for vicious persecution.
To have Sakumoâs choices validated and affirmed by the shinobi worldâs promotion structure when just a few short years ago those choices were universally reviled and earned Sakumo nothing but shame, hatred, and harassment must be such an emotionally overwhelming experience for his son, who went through his own kind of crucible in the wake of Sakumoâs departure but ultimately came out the other side more committed to his fatherâs ideals than ever. To finally see things changing, and for these changes to be the direct result of Kakashiâs own teaching choices - I canât imagine what that must feel like. I donât even think that Kakashi ever expected to see a world thatâs progressed this far, to be honest. He made a decision to embrace his fatherâs values, yes, but he did so long before they were considered acceptable, long before they were something he could ever expect to be rewarded for. Thatâs why Obito told him âno matter what the village or anyone else may say, I think youâre a great joninâ - he knew Kakashi broke the rules to rescue Rin the same way Sakumo broke the rules to rescue his comrades, and he knew it was entirely possible that Kakashi would catch flak for it upon returning home. In the shinobi world, the mission is absolute, and people who buck the system are branded as traitors. If the Battle of Kannabi Bridge had gone poorly because of the detour Kakashi and Obito took, Kakashi may not have been welcomed home quite so warmly. Â
Kakashi never really expects his choice to be rewarded or respected. But despite this, and despite the fact that he knows the potential consequences better than anyone, he chooses to stand by his fatherâs values anyway. He makes that decision the day he loses Obito, and he never looks back. No matter how lost he becomes, or how much pain he goes through (Iâve thought this world was hell, too), he never loses sight of this one thing: heâll never abandon a friend, and heâll never bow to anyone who tells him that his mission requires him to do so. Thatâs true throughout his time in ANBU (if your orders are to kill a friend, then those orders are wrong.  and the one who gave you those orders is wrong!), and itâs true when he becomes a teacher, too. He persists in his convictions, no matter how unpopular they are, and he teaches them to an entire generation of children, even when people keep giving him the side-eye for failing entire teams of genin year after year. Â
He never expects his behavior to make this kind of difference, and heâll probably never give himself credit for any of the changes that weâre starting to see now, but the only reason these things are happening is because of the choices he made back then. The new world weâre on the brink of building now is a direct result of Kakashi having taught his students the values that his father and Obito died for. Kakashiâs teaching is what helps Naruto go from âwhen I become Hokage, the whole village will have to stop disrespecting me and start treating me like iâm somebody importantâ to âhow could i ever become hokage if i canât even save one friend/a true hokage never steps over his comradesâ bodies.â Itâs what helps Sakura go from âyou obsessed about Sasuke, who was gone, while Naruto was right in front of you and you wouldnât lift a finger to help himâ to a decision to put her feelings for Sasuke aside in order to release Naruto from the promise he made to her, which is killing him. Itâs what helps Sasuke go from "you thought [your teammates] were so far beneath you they were worthlessâ to âI donât ever want to see that again - my trusted comrades falling right in front of me,â as he offers to die for them against Gaara.  Itâs what helps even Neji Hyuga go from a disdainful âwho does he think he is, making up his own criteriaâ to an affirmation of those same criteria when telling the Hidden Rain ninja âitâs just the Chunin exams.  The safety of our teammate is more important than passing.â Â
All of the changes that weâre seeing now are happening because Kakashi was committed to teaching the next generation the lessons he feels are important, contrary to widely-held public opinions and in defiance of the people who made a near-successful attempt at turning him against his own father: We never abandon our friends. We never sacrifice our comrades. If your orders are to kill a friend, then those orders are wrong. We do whatâs right, not what weâre told. Â
The Hatake clan may not have a hereditary jutsu to be passed down to others, but THIS is their legacy. This massive sea change in shinobi culture, the hard-fought shift away from a repeat of the tragically sacrificial Sakumos and Itachis and Tenzos of the old shinobi world, the total inversion of Mission > People to People > Mission - all of that started with Kakashiâs father, who died before he could see his work completed, but whose torch was picked up by Obito, and then by Kakashi, who made it his mission to pass on those ideals to the Leaf Villageâs children, some of whom are now making policies that affect promotion criteria for the entire shinobi world. Â
Just...Iâm thinking about Kakashi taking Sakura out to celebrate and to hear all about her test, and I know she wonât even give Shikamaruâs last question a second thought, because to her itâs just natural that theyâd be tested on that; Kakashiâs been testing them on that stuff since day one; it doesnât even occur to her that thereâs anything novel or strange or revolutionary about it; itâs just expected and accepted by her entire class that the principle âpeople are more important than rulesâ is something all shinobi should understand - when in reality, things have NEVER been like that before, and itâs taken SO much work to get here. A question like this being included as pass/fail criteria on the Chunin exams would have been unimaginable just a few short years ago. Kakashiâs father was harassed to his death for answering this question in the exact same way that is now required of anyone who wants to pass the test. Â
What an incredible feeling that must be for Kakashi, who worked so hard and endured so much to keep these values alive. To see how far the world has come - and to know how much of this progress is the result of his own choices, which he never thought would amount to anything so substantial - what a bizarre, beautiful, bittersweet feeling that must be.
#i wrote in some other post about how kakashi's teaching of obito's values is tantamount to performing a resurrection#and it's happening again here#kakashi lost every single person who mattered to him back then#but his refusal to give up on what they believed in eventually brings them back to life#no reanimation jutsu needed#kakashi's friends and family are alive in the hearts and minds of the next generation#they're still shaping the future#even from beyond the grave#WHAT A LEGACY TO LEAVE#naruto#meta#i got lost on the path of life#pan watches naruto

Choose Me Instead II Draco Malfoy x Reader II Chapter 3 of 27: Honesty
Summary: Pretending to be in a relationship with Draco Malfoy to get back at your ex might have not been the smartest idea you ever had. Especially during your last year of Hogwarts where you should be focusing on exams and your future plans. However, you were just pretending. There was no way in hell you could actually catch feelings for someone like Malfoy. ⊠Right?
CHAPTER 2
A/N: Iâve come to the realization that Iâve changed so much in this story during the past few days and added some chapters that it can probably already count as a slow-burn fic. I guess. Not sure. Have fun! Thanks for the lovely feedback! I love you all to death <3
Words: 3583 Pairing: Draco Malfoy x female!Reader, post-war Warnings: mentions of sex, light swearing
It was weird being back at Hogwarts. Something about it still didnât feel right. After the war, it was unimaginable for you to come back here and finish school. But they took their time and closed it off for over a year. The school got rebuilt, the victims buried, the survivors tried to heal and move on. On the first anniversary of the end of the war, McGonagall â the new headmistress of Hogwarts â publicly announced that the school would open for the coming year and the seventh graders were given the chance to repeat their year.
You were excited about coming back and seeing your friends again, gaining a little bit of normalcy. School, homework, petty drama â you wanted nothing more than to be busy with all of those things. Yet something felt different when you stood in the Great Hall for the first time after your arrival. Something had changed. You had changed.
âYouâre daydreaming again, Y/N.â
Ginnyâs voice pulled you back into reality. Your best friend sat across from you with her eyebrows raised, chewing on a croissant.
âTired,â you replied and smiled briefly.
âFrom what?â, she asked. âYou left super early last night!â
âYeah, because it was super boring.â
The redhead shook her head. âIt was not! There was a fight between two Hufflepuffs and thatâs the best indicator for a fun party.â
You chuckled. âIs it though?!â
âOr,â suddenly she put down her croissant. A devious smile appeared on her face and she began talking with a lowered voice: âDid you leave the party early with your date to ââ
âI beg you to not finish that sentence, please!â
Ginny laughed. âOh come on! McLaggen is kinda cute!â
âHeâs awful.â
âHe doesnât need a good character to ââ
âGinny!â You playfully threw an apple at her. She caught it, laughing. âYouâre the worst,â you said and shook your head.
Just when you wanted to change the topic, someone else started walked in. You stopped midsentence, staring at the couple who were coming down the hall, holding hands.
Ginny saw them too and she knew what you were about to do next. âDonât, Y/N,â she said softly. âStay here. At some point, youâll have to face them. Theyâre our friends. Heâs my brother. We have classes together now.â
You knew she was right. Yet, running away still seemed like a better option to you. Ginny sensed that, reached over the table and squeezed your hand. âStay,â she repeated.
Ron and Hermione sat down right beside you, cheerfully wishing you a good morning. You didnât reply but smiled at Harry instead who sat down next to Ginny and gave her a kiss. They were a cute couple and you were happy for the both of them. They finally found each other.
The four began to talk right away. It was still exciting to be in the same year as them, to finally share classes and spend so much time together. Well, not for you to be honest. You could happily live without seeing Ron every day.
You tuned out their conversation after a while, still debating whether or not you should leave the table. Your eyes drifted over the other students in the Great Hall and got stuck at the Slytherins. Not many people sat there as most of them had already finished breakfast. Before you knew what you were doing, you noticed he wasnât here.
You felt a little sting of disappointment and frowned. Where did this came from? As if you cared about seeing Malfoy.
Saying that you didnât replay that kiss in your mind over and over again would have been a lie. When you left the small room last night, you felt dizzy and confused. Yet you repeatedly told yourself that the kiss meant nothing. It happened so you didnât get caught. Good god, it was Draco Malfoy, probably the last person in this school you wanted to kiss (well, besides McLaggen). So no. This kiss didnât mean anything.
âY/N?â, you turned your head when Hermione said your name.
âWhy are you staring at the Slytherins?â, she asked.
You shrugged but the blush on your cheeks betrayed you. âNo reason. I was thinking.â
She frowned. Ginny and Harry looked at each other in confusion.
âSo? What is it?â, you asked.
âRight, um, we wanted to ask if youâd like to come play Quidditch with us?â
You raised an eyebrow. âSince when do you play Quidditch?â
âRon taught me over the summer,â she smiled at her boyfriend. âBesides, they have to try out for the team in two weeks anyways so why not practice a little.â
You looked at Ron who stared at his plate. He probably felt as comfortable with the thought of you playing together as you did. The way he avoided your eyes made you angry though.
âNo, sorryâ, you quickly said and suddenly stood up. âHomework.â This was it. You had to leave.
 ***
You gritted your teeth angrily as you made your way up the stairs. God, you still hated him for how he treated you three months ago. You were supposed to be friends and he fucked it all up. Now you could barely stand the sight of him and every encounter left you feeling like you needed to punch a brick wall.
Being so lost in your thoughts, you almost ran around the corner, crashing into someone.
âWatch it, Y/L/N!â
Great.
âWatch it yourself, Malfoy!â, you snapped.
Draco Malfoy stood in front of you, one hand in the pocket of his pants, the other gripping your arm to prevent you from falling down. It must have been out of instinct because as soon as he realized he was touching you, he let go as if you were a hot plate.
âSomeone got up on the wrong side of the bed,â he stated dryly.
âShut up,â you mumbled, lowering the tone of your voice a little. âAnd let me through.â
He did neither. âDid McLaggen find you after all?!â
âNone of your business, Malfoy!â With that, you pushed him aside and continued walking down the corridor. You were too mad for Malfoys bullshit.
âY/L/N!â Apparently he was particular talkative this morning.
You ignored him.
âI couldnât care less for your obvious boy troubles ââ
Who did he think he was?!
ââ however, I still have something that belongs to you.â
This made you stop dead in your tracks and turn around. âWhat?â, you asked, brows furrowed in confusion.
He smirked. âYour shoe.â
Oh. Oops.
Annoyed, you shrugged. âSo give it back to me.â
âItâs in the Slytherin common room.â
âIâd rather die than go down there.â
âIâd change the attitude if I were you. After all, you want something from me,â his voice grew colder.
You were unimpressed by that. âMake me,â you shot back.
There it was again â that look on his face. The same look he had yesterday as he gazed over your body in the small room. It made you shiver â and for a second you werenât sure if it was the good or the bad kind of shiver.
Then he smirked again: âQuidditch field. Tonight after dinner.â And while he already started walking backwards he added: âIâd rather die than be caught talking to a Gryffindor.â
Goddamn Slytherins.
***
It was unusually cold for a September night. You shivered and zipped up your jacket, regretting that you didnât bring a scarf. No student or teacher seemed to be outside at this time, only the occasional crow flying above your head and the rustling of leaves accompanied you on your way to the Quidditch field.
The reason why Malfoy chose the Quidditch field of all places to give you back your shoe was beyond your knowledge. Yet you didnât complain. In about half an hour, your friends would join you. Before the war, this was one of your favourite spots to just hang out and talk.
When you arrived on the field, it took you a while to spot Malfoy. He sat way up on the bleachers. You groaned and made your way up the stairs. Malfoy didnât notice that you came as he was busy writing something in a small green notebook. Huh. Interesting.
He flinched when you sat down beside him and quickly closed the book.
âWhat are you writing?â, you asked curiously.
Malfoy pretended not to hear your question and instead reached inside his bag. âHere,â he pulled out your shoe, handing it to you.
âThanks,â you put in the small bag you brought. âSo what are you writing?â
He looked at you with an annoyed expression. âYou have what you want so you can go.â
âYouâre no fun, Malfoy.â
âSays the Gryffindor.â
âExcuse me?â, you raised an eyebrow. âWeâre more fun than all the Slytherins combined.â
âRight,â he scoffed.
Still, you didnât move or leave so with a sigh, he added: âDo you have no friends to bother?â
You grinned. âI do. In fact, theyâll be here in ââ, you took a look at your watch, ââ twenty minutes.â
Malfoy rolled his eyes. âPerfect.â
âWhy did you tell me to meet you here?â
âI was gonna be here anyways,â he shrugged. âEasier to make you come to me.â
You ignored his sly remark. âYou were going to be here anyways? Alone?â
Another shrug.
Leaning back, you watched Malfoy from the side. He had dark circles under his eyes and kept his gaze focused on the field, his fingers playing with the sides of the notebook. Something (beside you sitting next to him) bothered him.
âSo what was up with you this morning?â, he broke the silence.
You raised an eyebrow. âAs if you care.â
âNo,â he admitted. âBut youâre obviously not leaving until your friends come and that question might make you stop staring at me.â
You chuckled softly. Then you realized that he was actually waiting for an answer. âNothing important.â
âI figured.â
âYouâre a jerk.â
âProbably,â Malfoy stated without any emotion in his voice.
You were silent for a few seconds. Part of you wanted to get up and leave. After all, Malfoy was probably the last one you could trust. He didnât care and it was literally none of his business. You didnât even like each other. Keeping it simple and vague was probably the best approach: âDumb stuff, really. Like you said â boy troubles.â
Malfoy shifted without noticing it, turning his body more towards you, leaning in a little. âWell, now Iâm curious. Who managed to make Y/L/N this mad and can he teach me?â
âI donât know if youâre keen on Ron being your teacher,â the sentence just slipped out. You regretted it right away.
Malfoys eyes widened. âNo fucking way.â Then he began to smirk â that evil, âIâm-better-than-youâ-smirk he had perfected over the years.
Your face felt like it was on fire and you were glad it was getting dark already. Maybe he wouldnât notice the blush. âOh, be quiet!â
âWeasley?â, he scoffed, not believing it. He stared at you with quite the interest now. There seemed to be a lot more to you than he would have guessed. âHow the fuck did that happen? Isnât he dating the ⊠isnât he dating Granger?â
You knew what he wanted to call her but were surprised that he stopped himself. That never happened before.
âYes, he is,â you mumbled and gave him a suggestive look.
This caused Malfoy to laugh. It was a dry, short laugh. He leaned back a little. âYouâre kidding, right? Fucking hell, Weasel managed to not only screw you but do so while dating Granger?â
âI like how eloquently you phrased that,â you said sarcastically.
He ignored you. âHow did that happen?â
âOkay, first of allâ, you began, â⊠they werenât dating when it happened. Iâm not a homewrecker, thatâs probably more of a Slytherin thing.â
âDoes she know?â
âKnow what?â
âDoes Granger know you two fââ
âGeez, Malfoy, watch your language,â you interrupted him quickly, before you added: âAnd no.â
âSo cheating isnât a Gryffindor thing but lying is?â, Malfoy concluded, smirking again. âGood to know.â
âOh, shut up,â you raised your chin. You were right about this in the beginning â you shouldnât have told him anything. How were you supposed to get this right? Even though there was no reason for you to explain yourself to him, you still felt the need to: âThey were going through a crisis and broke up and well ⊠I spent a few weeks with their family and I always considered Ron a good friend but ⊠but something happened. And then he ended things with me and got back together with Granger. Well, he got back together with her first and announced it in front of everyone, including me.â
âThatâs how he told you that you two were over?â
You nodded. âYup.â
âPhew,â Malfoy let out a whistle. âWow. I must admit, Iâm impressed.â
âSure you are.â
Suddenly Malfoys facial expression changed from amusement to confusion. âSo whatâs the big deal now? You two screwed a few times and now heâs playing house with Granger again.â
You sent him another suggestive glance which caused him to let out another laugh.
âPlease donât tell me you got feelings for the Weasel,â he said in complete disbelief. Then his eyes suddenly began to wander further down and you realized he was looking at your ⊠body. Rude. Before you got the chance to put him in his place, he simply said: âYou can do a lot better, yâknow.â
Oh. This was unexpected. You felt a blush creeping up your cheeks again and felt actually a little flattered by his words. Yet, they confused you. Why would he give a Gryffindor a compliment?! Was there a hidden insult in it? Maybe a slight undertone you didnât notice?
âIt goes without saying that this conversation stays between us,â you cleared your throat. âNo one knows about this whole mess except Ginny. And you.â
Malfoy nodded. âYou put an awful lot of trust in me.â
âDonât disappoint me then.â
The two of you were quiet for a few moments. It was almost completely dark by now and a nervous glance to your watch made you aware that Ginny and the rest of her friends might appear any second now. The silence grew uncomfortable after a while.
âWhatâs up with that whole engagement thing, you mentioned yesterday?â, you wanted to know, remembering that weird comment of him. âAnd donât act all mysterious again. I told you my mess now you have to share yours.â
Malfoy snorted. âAsk away.â
This was easier than expected. âAre you dating the little Greengrass?â Totally understandable if he was â Astoria was the perfect mixture of smart and drop dead gorgeous. A lot of guys were into her.
âNo.â
âShe called you âhoneyâ.â
âYes.â
You frowned. âIâm confused.â
âDo I really have to explain to you how pureblood marriages work?â, Malfoy said with a mocking undertone.
âOf course not. I just thought we left that behind us when the war endedâ, you remarked.
He gave a dismissive wave of his hand. âAs if hundreds of years of tradition can be forgotten with one war.â
âSo youâre forced to marry her?â, you tried to understand the situation better.
âNo, itâs an arranged marriage which is not even official yet,â Malfoy shifted slightly. âMother would like it because the Greengrass family is still respected and âŠâ
â⊠rich.â
He glanced at you quickly. âWe lost a lot.â
âI bet,â you scoffed.
Abruptly, Malfoy got up and grabbed his bag. âI should leave.â
Out of instinct, you extended your hand to reach for him but stopped just inches in front of his arm. âNo, Iâm sorry. I didnât mean it like thatâ, you apologized. Feelings of guilt and pity appeared inside of you as you didnât expect him to be so openly hurt by what you said. âI heard ⊠well, everyone heard about the trials and your parents and all that. Sorry.â
Malfoy hesitated but then sat down again. His whole demeanour had changed in just seconds. He had almost been ⊠approachable but now the look in his eyes was as cold as ice again.
You cleared your throat. âDo you want to marry her?â
He didnât answer right away. You wondered what went through his head in this moment.
âI donât ask myself that.â
The answer didnât surprise you. âWhy not?â, you tried to dig deeper.
Again, a few seconds passed before he mumbled: âNo, I donât want to marry her. I hardly know her.â
âHmm,â you nodded. âDoes she want to marry you?â
âI donât knowâ, he gave a half shrug. âShe had a thing with Zabini over the summer so I guess ⊠Iâm probably not her first choice.â
The answer to all of his problems seemed so easy, you thought. Yet it would be met with much apprehension. Traditional pureblood families like his were difficult when it came to this stuff.
Knowing what his reaction would be, you still had to say it: âSo donât get engaged.â Before he could reply, you raised your hand. âYeah, I know, traditions and all that bullshit. Why donât you just start breaking traditions?â
Malfoy shook his head. âMy family works a little different than yours.
âNot that different to be honestâ, you whispered under your breath.
He heard you and you were met with a very confused look. When you didnât elaborate, he continued talking: âAnyways, I canât. I could try to postpone but Iâd need a very convincing reason.â
âLike?â
âAnother girl from a good family.â
âAnd?â
âAnd what?â
A grin appeared on your face. âThere are at least ten girls I can name right away whoâd love to get a shot with you.â
Seriously, even most of the Gryffindor girls your age had been crushing on Malfoy at least once. He was very attractive and clever and that whole âbad boyâ-act made quite a few girls weak in their knees. You had noticed this too but being so close friends with Ginny and Harry those thoughts never found room to grow inside of you. In your mind, Malfoy had always been an arrogant jerk. Still is, you corrected yourself quietly.
âHave you spoken with them since I became a ââ
⊠a Death Eater, you finished the sentence in your head. Looking at the young man in front of you, wearing his school scarf while sitting in a sports stadium, the whole concept of him being a dangerous criminal just seemed absurd to you.
âBesides itâs a dumb ideaâ, he continued. âIt would be a fake relationship and no one in their right mind would agree to that.â He let out a dry laugh. âOnly a Gryffindor can think of something like that.â
In that moment, your eyes met. Never before did you notice the unusual colors in them like you did now. The piercing grey reminded you of storm clouds on an autumns day. Yeah, a fake relationship. Who in their right mind would ⊠Unless âŠ
The sudden thought that appeared in your mind made you flinch. He seemed to be thinking the same when he quickly broke the eye contact, straightening up and staring over at the field.
You got up in a rush, swinging your back over your shoulder. To your big relief, Ginny and your friends had just entered the Quidditch field. Their laughter echoed through the whole area.
âI should go. Thereâs Ginny.â
He nodded. âRight.â
âThanks for the shoe.â Could this situation be any more awkward?! You doubted it. Hastily you turned around and almost stumbled over your own feet when you made our way back to the stairs. Something else came suddenly to your mind.
âOh, and Malfoy?â, you stopped. He didnât turn to look at you but you knew he heard you by the way he slightly moved his head. âI know a lot of fucked up stuff happened and pureblood families are the worst but ⊠but donât spend the rest of the year sitting here alone. I bet that there are still quite a few of your Slytherin friends that want to spend time with you.â
There was nothing you expected him to say in response to that so it surprised you when he suddenly said your name. âY/L/N?â
âYes?â
âGet over Weasley. Itâs beneath you.â
You were glad he didnât see the big grin on your face.
 ***
Ginny was surprised to see you coming down the stairs and running across the field. She wondered what you did up there and frowned when he saw a guy sitting there with the all too familiar white-blond hair.
âIs that Malfoy up there? Were you talking to him?â, she wanted to know when you finally reached the group.
âOh, um,â you stuttered. âWe ran into each other.
Ginny squinted her eyes. âRightâ, she doubted. âHow did you ââ
Bang! You let out a short scream at the sudden noise.
âSorry!â Someone shouted and a very distressed looking Seamus Finnigan appeared behind dark smoke.
âWhat the hell did you do?â Ginny squeaked and with that she forgot all about Malfoy.
You looked back up to where he was sitting just a minute ago. He was gone now. A weird feeling was left inside of you after the rather unusual conversation you had with the Slytherin. You shook your head, trying to get rid of it and turned your full attention back to your friends.

I hope you like it! Iâd love to hear what you thought about it! <3

THE JEDI AS NATURAL, INSTINCTIVE TEACHERS IS A FUNDAMENTAL TO WHO THEY ARE AT THE CORE. For @jedijuneââs theme for Saturday, June 13th: Teaching/Learning
Taking a Closer Look at the Jedi Order in Star Wars Canon [Meta/Reference Guide]:Â Chapter 3: Teaching Is A Central Theme To The Jedi
Teaching is a central theme to the Jedi: Â Â Obi-Wan: Â âYouâd make a good teacher.â Â Â Anakin: âNo thanks.â Â Â Obi-Wan: âAnakin, teaching is a privilege. And itâs part of a Jediâs responsibility to help train the next generation.â [Star Wars: The Clone Wars movie]
âMaster Yoda said we never stop learning. Â Perhaps the Master is meant to be as much a student as the Padawan. Â I may not be the teacher that Qui-Gon was. Â But I am the one that Anakin has.â Â (âObi-Wan Kenobi, Age of the Republic: Obi-Wan Kenobi #1)
Henry Gilroy and Dave Filoni on establishing Yoda as a teacher early on: Â Â Â Gilroy: Â "There were elements that we really wanted to explore, and that was things that were classic to Yoda, as a teacher. Â We thought this was a great opportunity to show how the Jedi interact with the clones. Â Specifically Yoda in a teaching role, of the clones, who were socially new, who were created to fight, and he really broadened their horizons, and helped them realize there was a great big universe out there that was bigger than just fighting and killing.â Â Â Â Filoni: Â "You see Yoda teaching the clones, much like he taught Luke, âcause that was kind of natural for them, a natural instinct to take these clones like their students. And it really allowed Yoda to have a scene that was reminiscent of a scene we both liked growing up, when he was teaching Luke.â Â Â Â (Star Wars: The Clone Wars, âAmbushâ commentary)
George Lucas on education (who believes it is the most fundamental issue): Â Â Â âPlato didnât teach [in the sense of drilling answers into them] people anything. All he did was ask questions. Â The process was asking questionsâ'Why is the sky blue?â Â It was purely a reverse of us feeding you all the information and [instead] teaching the kids how to learn.â Â Â Â I find this is often the answer for why Yoda or the other Jedi donât just lecture on the answers re: Force theology, because the narrative believe/creatorâs belief is that itâs more important to teach how to ask a question than to drill in an answer. Â A direct example is Yodaâs teachings to Ahsoka in âTeach You, I Willâ getting her to think for herself and how George Lucas talks in an Empire Strikes Back documentary about Yodaâs bizarre speech patterns being about getting the audience to really stop and think about what the weird little frog man is saying.
JEDI PHILOSOPHY + TEACHINGS:
The Jedi did not see themselves as infallible or that failure was something any of them could avoid, even for their most esteemed Council members: Â Â Depa Billaba: Â "We cannot deny, Masters, that I failed you. Â Failed you on a massive scale.â Â Â Obi-Wan Kenobi: Â "A lack of failure has never been a prerequisite to service, else none of us would be here. Â Welcome back to the Council, Master Billaba.â Â [Kanan: The Last Padawan]
The Jedi do not see themselves as a source of the light side of the Force, but rather the other way around. Â In Darth Vader: Dark Lord of the Sith, Jocasta faces off against Vader and says: Â Â âYou are [Palpatineâs] tool. Â Little better than a droid, set to stamp out the light side of the Force. Â But this is impossible. Â The Force is eternal. Â It cannot be ended, it cannot be stopped, not so long as life exists.â showing that, even if all the Jedi were dead, they knew that the light would still find its way in the galaxy, because the Force is eternal, the Force is in all life, the light is in all life, so long as that life exists.
âThe Jedi can guide. Â We can teach. Â We can help people to help themselves. Â But we are not an army. Â If a people are truly determined to write themselves out of existence, there is little we can do.â [Obi-Wan & Anakin]
Questions are shown as natural and a good thing: Â Â âA child, Anakin remains. Â His path before coming to us, difficult. Â His questions, natural.â Â [âYoda, Obi-Wan & Anakin] Â Â "I have no issues with Anakin. Â He is asking questions, as he should be at his age.â [âObi-Wan, Obi-Wan & Anakin]
Itâs not just younglings that should be asking questions, but everyone: Â Â "Answers, did you find?â Â Â "I did. Â And as often is with the Force, more questions.â Â Â "Mmmm. Â Good, questions are. Â Ask them we must. Â Certainty in our understanding, to arrogance it leads. Â To the dark side.â [âYoda, Qui-Gon, Age of the Republic - Qui-Gon Jinn #1]
Questions and determining your own path tend to be a big theme with the Jedi, that everyone must determine what they want for themselves, what they understand the Force has laid out their path to be and whether they want that, like with the above, and when itâs woven into the very decision that Ezra has to make, that Kanan canât just tell him what to do on this: Â Â âWhich way is the right way? Â Â âThe wrong question, that is.â Â Â âIâm sorry. I donât understand. To be honest, I donât even know what Iâm doing here.â Â Â âA better question, that is.â Â Â âKanan said I was gonna be tested, but he never said what for or why.â Â Â âAnd your Master tell you everything, must he?â Â Â âWellâ No.â Â Â âYour path you must decide.â Â [âEzra and Yoda, Star Wars Rebels, âPath of the Jediâ]
Obi-Wan taught Anakin that things should not be trampled just for acting according to their nature, instead (when they can) use the Force to move them along: Â Â Â "These beasts are nearly mindless, Anakin. Â I can feel it. Â They are merely following their nature, they should not die simply because they crossed our path. Â Use the Force to send them on their way.â Â [Obi-Wan & Anakin]
Henry Gilroy says a similar thing with: Â Â "Obi-Wan truly is a Jedi in that heâs like, âOkay, Iâm not going to murder these creatures [in the Ryloth arc of The Clone Wars]. Â Theyâre starving to death. Â Theyâve basically been unleashed against these people as a weapon, but itâs not their fault. Theyâre just doing what they do. Â Theyâre just animals who wanna eat.â Â [Aggressive Negotiations Interview]
Ezra says he saw his parents and Kanan tells him what the Jedi teach: Â Â Â "I saw them, Kanan. My parents. I-- I can't explain how." Â Â Â "The Jedi teach that life doesn't cease at death, merely changes form in the Force. Your parents are alive inside you, Ezra. They will be. Always." Â [Star Wars Rebels, "Legacy"]
JEDI AND THEIR STUDENTS:
A great emphasis is placed on teachers and students working together: Â âYoda cocked his head. âAdapt he must as well. Cooperation is learned not through individual effort. Only together can you progress.ââ [Master and Apprentice] Yoda also says the bond between a Master and a Padawan is sacred. Â [Dooku: Jedi Lost]
Jedi are never really done being students/being tested, even when they become teachers and Masters themselves, that students teach Masters just as Masters teach students, and their tests reflect this:  "But surely I should have been informed if you were testing my Padawan?â   "Who says the lesson was for him?â Bant said, smiling at her old friend.   Obi-Wanâs jaw dropped.  "You were testing me?â   "For both of you, the test was,â Yoda told him.   Mace nodded.  "A reminder that while Padawans must listen to their mastersâŠâ  "Teachers must also listen to their pupils,â Bant concluded.  [Choose Your Destiny:  Obi-Wan & Anakin]
âThis is why we study. Â Why we learn. Â Skill is the child of patience.â Â [Obi-Wan & Anakin]
"Your mission was never about [bringing back] the book. Â It was about everything you did to find it. Â All the challenges you had to face along the way. Â And you overcame them all.â Â "It was a test.â Â "It was a journey, the next step in your training, and you succeeded in every way that mattered.â (âLuminara Unduli, Barriss Offee, Star Wars Adventures #20)
EARLY JEDI TEACHINGS/JEDI PHILOSOPHY 101:
As an overview of what Jedi teach as the early and foundational lessons, across multiple media, we see that meditation and self-reflection are just as important as bonding with their sacred crystal and practicing with their lightsaber, which then also connects with how so much of the early teachings Kanan gives Ezra when they're just starting are just as much/more focused on connection and understanding of self. Â (As detailed below this!) Â [Age of the Republic: Obi-Wan Kenobi + Kanan: The Last Padawan + Obi-Wan & Anakin]
One of the very first training sessions we see Kanan giving to Ezraâand thus informing our understanding of the foundations of Jedi teachingsâis to have Ezra doing a handstand and tells him to, âFocus. Â Focus on letting go.â Â Eventually, trying to toss objects at him to get him into letting the Force move through him, hear its whispers instead of shouting at it. Â Before Kanan brings out his lightsaber to practice with, he wants Ezra to first mentally focus. Â [Star Wars Rebels, âRise of the Old Mastersâ]
Another one of the earliest lessons Kanan teaches Ezra, putting it as one of the foundations of Jedi teachings is how they're connected to other beings: Â Â âStep outside of yourself. Make a connection with another being.â as he teaches Ezra to connect with a loth-cat. Â Â Â âI just donât see the point of this.â Â Â âThe point is that youâre not alone. Youâre connected to every living thing in the universe.â Â [Star Wars Rebels, âEmpire Dayâ]
When Kanan first starts training Ezra, he repeats Yodaâs saying of, âDo or do not. Â There is no try.â Â When Ezra questions it, Kanan says that he really doesnât understand it, either. Â By the end of the episode, after Kanan realizes Luminara canât train Ezra, that he has to commit to Ezra instead of half-assing this, he says: Â Â "Iâ Ezra. Iâm not gonna try to teach you anymore. If all I do is try, that means I donât truly believe I can succeed. So from now on, I will teach you.â Â [Star Wars Rebels, âRise of the Old Mastersâ]
Another early lesson is that Ezra must be honest with himself to advance as a Jedi: Â Â âEzra, youâll never advance as a Jedi if you canât be honest with yourself, at least.â Â Â âWhatâs that supposed to mean?â Â Â âIt means Tseebo matters to you. You do care what happens to him.â [Star Wars Rebels, âGathering Forcesâ]
Which is then reaffirmed later in that same episode: Â Â âI got news for you, kid. Everyoneâs afraid, but admitting it as you just did makes you braver than most, and itâs a step forward.â [âKanan Jarrus, Star Wars Rebels, âGathering Forcesâ]
Ezra has trouble moving forward in the first season because discipline and focus are fundamental to being a Jedi: Â Â âBut you said I was a Jedi. Why else would you be training me?â Â Â âI never said you were a Jedi. I said you had the potential to become one. But you lack discipline, focus.â [Star Wars Rebels, âPath of the Jediâ]
JEDI CULTURE:
Jedi younglings (at least the diurnal ones) wake at dawn to meditate on the three pillarsâthe Force, Knowledge, and Self-Discipline. Â Then they go to the refectory for lunch, where Dooku always likes to sit next to Sifo-Dyas. [Dooku: Jedi Lost]
The Jedi have a strong aesthetic that echoes the deepest parts of the Forceâall circles and lines. Â Time and the Force and the Jedi are all connected circles and arcing lines.
âYou must not grow too attached, too fond, too in love with life as it is now.  The emotions are valuable and should not be suppressed⊠but you must learn to rule them, Padawan, lest they rule you.â  (Kanan: The Last Padawan)
âThis man is perverting our sacred teachings to prey upon a vulnerable people. Â I can think of little my tongue could say better than my saber in this instance.â Â Â Â âDissolve your hostility, Padawan. Â Channel your frustrations into an appropriate emotion. Â Violence, as always, is a last resort.â Â Â Â âOf course. Â Apologies, Master.â Â Â Â âA fire burns inside of you, Padawn. Â That, in itself, is not inherently wrong. Â It is my job to help you temper it.â [Jedi of the Republic - Mace Windu]
JEDI AND FACING THE DARK SIDE:
âThe fact that everything must change and that things come and go through [Anakinâs] life and that he canât hold onto things, which is a basic Jedi philosophy that he isnât willing to accept emotionally.â Â (George Lucas, Attack of the Clones commentary)
The Jedi test from the Rebels episode âPath of the Jediâ novelization on facing their fears/the dark side within them: Â Â Â "This test was not designed solely for the apprentice. Â It was also a test for the master, for facing oneâs fears was a lifelong struggle.â (Ezraâs Duel with Danger)
The test is specifically designed by the Jediâas is the same test on Ilum for the Jedi younglings that they all had to faceâto face their fears, because it didnât just happen one time, it was something they faced all their lives, younglings and Knights and Masters, all of them. Â This is why Ezra has to face it in Rebels, why Luke has to face it on Dagobah, why Rey has to face it on Ahch-To, the Jedi have always had to face the darkness within themselves and work beyond it.
Kanan also says it plainly as they enter the Temple: Â Â Â Â âIn here, youâll have to face your worst fears and overcome them.â Itâs pretty obvious thatâs what happening when the Temple shows him a vision of the Grand Inquisitor killing Kanan and Ezra has to pick himself back up, admit what heâs feeling so he can face the fears again, and understand that he has to let them go and then it cannot hurt him here, the Grand Inquisitorâs blade passes right through him. Â Itâs then Yodaâs voice calls to him and we see that Ezra letting go of those fears allow him to move forward: Â Â Â âBig fears have you faced, young one.â Â Â Â âYes.â Â Â Â âHmm. For what lies ahead, ready are you?â Â Â Â âI am.â Â Â Â âCome. See more clearly what you could not see before.â [Star Wars Rebels, âPath of the Jediâ]
When Cal is struggling with facing his fears and needs to create a new lightsaber, Cere gives him a pep talk and they head off to Ilum, where she tells him: Â âYou will be tested. Â I donât mean just here [on Ilum]. Â Every Jedi faces the dark side. Â And itâs very easy to fail. Â We will always struggle. Â But that is the test. Â Itâs the choice to keep fighting that makes us who we are." Â [âCere Junda, Jedi: Fallen Order]
THE THEME OF GEORGE LUCASâ MOVIES:
George Lucas says, âAll of my movies are about one thing. Â Which is the fact that the only prison youâre in is the prison of your mind. Â And if you decide to open the door and get out, you can. Â Thereâs nothing stopping you.â âGeorge Lucas (American Voices, 2015)
Which is reflected in the teachings of the Jedi, which further shows theyâre in line with the narrative intentions of Star Wars: Â Petro: Â âYou-you said we would be trapped.â Â Yoda: Â âNot by the cave you were but by your mind. Lessons, you have learned. Find courage, you did. Hope, patience Trust, confidence, and selflessness.â (The Clone Wars, âThe Gatheringâ)

Henlo Liho-san~! A new follower of yours uwu May I ask for hcs of how the dorm leaders would react with having an f!s/o who is mostly respectful and polite, suddenly about to throw hands with someone as they may or may not have said or complained about the dorm head they were dating. It was not a compliment in any way or form- I hope I didn't cross over any rules! But if I had to pick 5 out of 7 of them, it's Riddle, Azul, Idia, Kalim, and Vil. Thanks a bunch if you notice this~! Good Luck!!âĄâĄ
Hey yo Nocturne! I know of you from liking I and Brewâs OC (twisted-whimsies): Mozerella Trein and a couple TW related posts of mine.
Prefects and Vice Prefects are exception from character limit.
After finishing this, I realized I wrote something between a ficlet and headcanon. I hope youâll like it though đ
My German knowledge is bugging me to write Vilâs surname with ö instead of o yet my order-loving side is telling me to stick to how itâs written in TW
Before I start Iâm gonna add a quote from a fandom of mine đ one look at my OG blog would reveal which fandom it is.
âFallaces sunt rerum speciesâ
Meaning: The appearances of things are deceptive
đ„đ„đ„đ„đ„đ„đ„đ„đ„đ„đ„đ„
Riddle Rosehearts
Riddle can handle himself. At least he could before his overblot episode. No body dared to talk behind his back.
But now he holds back, not using his unique magic frequently anymore which caused some students think he became too lenient and a couple students started to abuse this leniency
Every time someone tries his patience he counts to 10 internally or just ignore them. Donât get him wrong, he still sticks to rules and makes his dorm follow the rules but he cannot force people to stop talking about him
Today is going to one of the days when he would ignore any bad mouthing because he is with (Y/N), the sweetest person he ever met
(Y/N) already saw at his worst when he overblotted. He doesnât want her to see any more incidents such that.
He and (Y/N) decided to take a walk in Rose Gardens as a date. Then decided to get into Rose Maze, holding hands strictly for to not get lost.
âPrefect Rosehearts became such a softie. He is no longer fit to be our prefect.â âHe never was. Mommy Issues needs to go back to kindergarten.â
(Y/N) and Riddle were in East side of Rose Maze when they heard 2 Heartslabyl students talking which made (Y/N) stop in her track. Riddle tugged her hand to move on but she didnât budge.
âRiddle, honey, either push away those bushes or Iâll climb over it and have a nice chat with them.â
âThere is no need.â â âokay then Iâm climbingâ
And she did. Riddle didnât know how but she managed to go to other side of bushes by climbing to them.
âHey jackasses! Would you like to say that again?â The two students were shocked to see Riddleâs girlfriend jump from above. âWh- what?â
âI asked if you wanted to say those to my face.â And no answer.
Meanwhile Riddle was on the other side of bush walls, listening whatâs happening.
âDid Riddle or did he not manage to increase Heartslabylâs average grade?â âHe did...â âDid he or did he not helped your dorm to have better ranking at Magift?â âHe did...â âDid he treat you unfair ever since he fixed how he acted?â âNo...â âThen what makes you say he is unfit? Is it because he is more tolerant on rules? Is it because he cares how his dorm mates feel?â No answer again. âI hope you come to your senses now because next time I hear something like this will be the first and last time you taste my wrath. Are we clear?â â âYes maâam!â
(Y/N) climbed over the bush again and landed in front of Riddle. With a kiss to his cheek, âJust because you give less punishment doesnât mean you need to let people bully you. If anyone else acts this way, Iâll have a talk with them.â
She held his hand and pulled him into the maze again. Meanwhile Riddle was still wondering how his girlfriend climbed over a mazeâs wall.
đŠđŠđŠđŠđŠđŠđŠđŠđŠđŠđŠđŠ
Leona Kingscholar
Leona is used to people bad mouthing about him back in his palace. While in Savanaclaw, his dorm mates respected him and didnât dare to oppose him. That is until they saw his vulnerable side during his overblot accident.
He heard a couple dorm mates say âHe canât do anything by himself.â âGood for nothing.â âAll that lazy lion does is sleep.â âHe must have lack brains to repeat the same year over and over again.â
He is used to ignoring them and sleeping it off. And his favorite pillow, (Y/N), helped him to dismiss their thoughts.
Leona only asked (Y/N) out because he figured she would be great body pillow. Certainly not her lively and cheerful attitude, nor her bright smile.
Leona asked (Y/N) out for a night date in Savanaclaw. Itâs because he wanted to nap in his dorm. Itâs absolutely not that Savanaclaw lounge looks romantic at night.
When (Y/N) arrived, she unfortunately heard those.
Leona tugged her arm to lead her to where their date suppose to take but no avail.
âHold my purse, kitten.â (Y/N) handed her purse to Leona and went where those dorm members stand.
âHey there is something in your face!â The main jerk looked up âHuh?â Proceeded with a punch to his face. âIt was PAIN!â And ended with the guy falling to ground, holding his nose.
âDoes anyone else have something on their faces?â The remaining ones shook their head in NO. âGood.â She turned on her heels and went to Leonaâs side.
All Leona could do was admire her right hook. He did not think how she wouldnât feel out of blue in Afterglow Savannah if she were to live there because women in his hometown are strong and fighters.
đđđđđđđđđđđđ
Azul Ashengrotto
(Y/N) first caught Azulâs eye when she sat down for 7 hours to read every single detail in his contract and demanded a change in certain conditions. Azul refused to make contract with her then offered her a job in Mostro Lounge.
With persuasion from the twins, Azul gathered courage to ask (Y/N) out. And she accepted.
They often stayed late hours in Mostro Lounge to spend some alone time.
After their quick date followed by closing of Mostro Lounge, Azul walked arm in arm with (Y/N) until the mirror passage. As they were walking, 2 Octavinelle student were messing around.
âLook at me! Iâm the crybaby who hides behind two eels!â â âNo one is making contract, Iâmma cry now!â â âMaybe I can turn my crying into money. I can sell all the ink I cry!â âNice one dude!â
One look to Azulâs face, (Y/N) understood he would deal with them either personally or the twins would play with them.
Not today Satan!
(Y/N) let Azulâs arm go and slowly approached the duo. âI am (Y/N), you canât insult my boyfriend like that; prepare to die... socially I mean...â â âWhat are you saying?â
âI donât have patience, time nor crayons to explain this to you but Iâll let you on a secret. Sometimes a nasty rumor, which doesnât have to be true, can ruin someoneâs entire school life. Maybe telling everyone your secret wish that you once asked from Azul or you offering a different type of payment to teachers to pass the grade.â â âYou canât do that!â â âI can and I will unless you cut the crap, ask for forgiveness and work for free in Mostro Louge for a week.â â âItâs a deal!â
Azul came to (Y/N)âs side as the two boys run away. Azul once again saw his angelfish using her wits to get what she wants. He knows she didnât need to do that but he is flattered by the fact that his girlfriend wants to protect him.
đđđđđđđđđđđđ
Kalim Al-Asim
Kalim asked (Y/N) out after spending time together after Jamil overblotted.
He is still the sunshine bean that brings smile to everyoneâs faces. (Y/N) is as cheerful as Kalim and thatâs why he hit it off
Kalim took (Y/N) to another carpet ride as a date. She loves the feeling of wind on her face on top clouds.
As they returned to the dorm, they heard a couple students talking.
âI donât care what Jamil did. He was right! Kalim is unfit to represent us. After he became prefect, we became the last at everything.â â âHow many Kalim can change a light bulb? None because he is too idiot and too incapable to change one. Heheheheâ
(Y/N) saw tears building up on Kalimâs eyes then she snapped. She made carpet to fly over them in law altitude then she jumped down in front of them. âSurprise motherfuckers!â Before anyone can understand what happened. (Y/N) kicked the one that made bulb joke between his legs then held and twist the ear of the other two. âYou have 10 seconds to reconsider what you just talked. I suggest not to waste time.â
The trio tried to dismissed what they said but the glare they received made them comply. âPrefect Kalim, we are sorry to make fun of you.â
Kalim as the personification of sunbeams forgave them. Then turned his attention to his beloved. He was impressed by how she jumped down and was ready to protect him without any hesitation. He never thought someone as kind and happy person as her could hide a fighter in her. Not going to lie, he loves seeing this side of hers
đđđđđđđđđđđđ
Vil Schönheit
Being with Vil is exhausting. Donât get her wrong, itâs not him (Y/N) is complaining. Itâs the people around them.
(Y/N) started paying more attention to her appearance
(Y/N) was waiting for Vil to get ready, sitting on his bed. Vil had free time that day and they were going out.
As they went out of the room, whispering ensued as always but this time, for the first time, a Pomefiore student bad mouthed about Vil.
âHe is compensating his wretched personality with his looks!â
Vil isnât someone to care opinions of a no-mark but (Y/N) is
âHold my earrings, my love.â (Y/N) took out her earrings and handed them to Vil. âIâm going to snatch his wig!â â âHeâs not wearing a wig...â
âI take it you werenât burned with overabundance of schooling. You think youâre a Gucci but youâre not even Lacoste. Now apologize before I think your face needs a makeover.â â âGucci? Lacoste?â â âAnd I suggest hide your jealousy better. You canât get near Vil as a fan and you try to make up for it by talking about something that you have no idea on. Honestly I am jealous of people who havenât met you.â
(Y/N) waves back the boy, going back to Vilâs side then putting her earrings again.
Vil is quite pleased what has occurred. Not only he saw how (Y/N) can destroy someone with just words but he also saw a glimpse of what she thinks of him. Maybe he should hire some people to insult him so he can see this side of hers again.
đđđđđđđđđđđđ
Idia Shroud
Idia tries everything he can to stay in his room but there is an anime con that he and (Y/N) are going so he needs to get out of his room.
Idia and (Y/N) dressed up as his favorite anime couple.
Idia left his room voluntarily without any compulsory reason! It became a quick hit topic in Ignihyde.
Idia and (Y/N) went to anime-con and Ortho tagged along to record the ordeal.
They had to return early because some drunk in the con spilt juice on (Y/N).
So they returned NRC then Ignihyde. Ortho left for somewhere as Idia and (Y/N) walked in Ignihyde lounge.
âHe doesnât even go Dorm meeting but doesnât have a problem with going a stupid con! Idia is an embarrassment to Ignihyde! All he does is play games and ramble about them!â
(Y/N) coughed gathering attention from the group.
Idia freaked out by being in highlight, hand pulled his chest, eyes widened.
âBaby, get behind me.â (Y/N) stepped in front of Idia and strutted to the Ignihyde student that was shit talking. âPick a God and pray.â
The boy gulped. âWh-What?!â
âDid I stutter?â
âI donât know whatââ He threw his hands to air in frustration. (Y/N) grabbed his wrist, twisting and pulling his arm. The momentum caused the boy to fell face forward. (Y/N) still holding his arm twisted, âNow, dear, youâll apologize and promise that youâll never speak of Idia that way. Then get out of my face or else..â â âYes maâam!â The boy did as he was told.
Idia couldnât guess in a million years that his goody two shoes girlfriend was capable of pulling this stunt. What he saw right now made him think the fighter beautiful ladies in anime. It was like a dream come true for him.
đđđđđđđđđđđđ
Malleus Draconia
People feared Malleus for a really long time that he couldnât remember anything else.
People avoided and tend to talk behind his back yet those didnât reach insult level.
Who was stupid enough to dare that?
Malleus asked (Y/N) if she wanted to explore Diasomnia dorm and hear about the gargoyles of Diasomnia.
Of course she would love it. She loves when Malleus goes on about gargoyles for hours. And she is the only member in his club. Plus nightly strolls are their dates.
âHe has no friends and no body loves him. For goodnessâ sake, his intimating aura makes rest of dorm unapproachable! Canât he just be gone already!?â
No genius is needed to know who that Diasomnia student was talking about.
Malleusâ mood turned sour immediately. He could curse that boy but this would only prove those wretched rumors.
(Y/N) finds Malleusâ sulking face extremely attractive (he is too attractive to be real) but no one has any right to upset her beloved.
âIâm about to end this manâs whole career.â
âDear, wait me here. Iâll be back in a minute.â
Off (Y/N) went to defend Malleusâ honor.
âHi there! Couldnât help but hear you. Have you ever thought you have no friends because youâre an ass?â â âWho do you think you are? Oh itâs you.â â âItâs me Mario!â â âHuh???â
âNow now, letâs talk shall we? All you do is complain yet you donât do anything to improve anything. You hold others accountable when you fail while there is no one but you to blame. Youâre so wrapped in your tiny bubble that you canât see outside world. Thatâs what small minded people do. Whoever told you to be yourself simply couldnât give you any worse advice.â The guy was left speechless, gaping like a fish out of water. âClose your mouth or else you might swallow a fly.â
(Y/N) went back to Malleus side, winking at him. His heart skipped a beat, thinking this was such a queen act. Defending her beloved with her words. To be fair, Malleus finds everything (Y/N) does a fitting trait for a queen, the way she rambles, snorts, breaths, smiles...
Malleus only wishes he met (Y/N) ages ago.

monster [ professor!lupin x hufflepuff!reader]
1/?
intro
y/n l/n, a spectacularly odd, and scared witch, with gifted abilities, is now orphaned upon the murder of her Mother and Father, and has come to live with her Godfather, Rubeus Hagrid. Despite her lack of knowledge, and never being properly trained, Dumbledore feels as though she has a right to be taught, just the same as anyone else/
pairing : professor! lupin x hufflepuff!reader
warnings: age gap, trauma, Orphaned Reader, female pronouns, insinuation of death and violence, student/teacher relationship. Â
- Reader is written as 18 in the timeline, and isnât underage, there for thereâs no reason to get dramatic about the pairing. There is also no insinuation of s*xual relations (only romantic) as I myself am asexual, and that would be taking this type of pairing a bit too far. Secondly, timeline is a little confusing, the reader is infact taking year 3 classes, and you will find out why as you read forward. Anyway, if you donât enjoy, the content, simply ignore it.
( And if you would like a second part, request. request. request.)
-
The sky begins to darken above as you and Hagrid walked back to the castle grounds from Hogsmeade Village. The air cooling around you, with a whisk of the autumn wind. Your Godfather, leading you through the castle grounds, and around the lake, to where your new home would be. Itâs painfully quiet, as the students wouldnât arrive until tomorrow, not something that neither of you particularly enjoy. The sound of silence.Â
â Yer new home is right around ereâ He points as you approach to a painfully small hut. Itâs made of old stone, it looks warned down, almost ancient, as if it was going to fall apart. Youâre surprised at the sight, it looking from the outside to be too small for a man of your Godfathers size. Though this was Hogwarts, anything was seemingly possible. âItâs lovely.â You halfly lie, only thankful to have a home to call your own, after everything thatâs happened, you still had somewhere to go, only some dream to have just as much, if not less than that.Â
It had been years since you had been on these grounds and seen your Godfather. Years since you were meant to go to Hogwarts, and fulfill your magical destiny, but everything had been ruined. Your family gone, your childhood taken away, along with most of your happiest memories.Â
He opens the wooden door, revealing a cozy home within. You know you had been here before, long ago, but the memory was gone, any recollection of it belongs to the overwhelming sadness deep within you, the memories of what happened to your parents holding a tight grip around your heart. You stood still within the doorway as Hagrid, walked inside. He turned back around, halting the haunting thoughts.Â
â Are yeh cominâ in? Yer lettinâ in a draft!â And with that, your new life began.Â
-Â
â So Iâm going to be the first there?â You questioned, gathering all you needed, to stay at the dorms. Despite having Hagridâs to live at, he and Dumbledore suggested it would be useful to stay within a dorm, to gather the real experience of Hogwarts. But you thought it to be a way around telling anybody you were in fact Hagridâs God Daughter, perhaps they didnât want anybody thinking oddly of you.
â Yeh, but it wonât be long before there ereâ You sighed, walking among the front doors. Â
Only time could tell when they would be here, and when you would have to be sorted. Flashbacks to your Father and Mother crossed your mind, the two of them being an odd pair of lovers at that, considering the houses they had been sorted into.
Your Mother was a cunning Slytherin, filled with power and a strive for greatness, though despite her temperament, she was the nicest woman some had ever met, she was unnaturally kind for such a reputation, but only to those whom she really could trust, one of the people being your Father. Your Father was just as filled with power as she, only he was more selfless, more brave. A Gryffindor in his truest right. Despite their differences, and the wedge between them of Pureblood and Muggleborn magic, they seemed to defy all odds when together. Truly a mystery.Â
-
The great hall was huge, candles floating amongst the numerous house tables, all filled with empty cutlery and plates. Your Father had spoken of this moment numerous of times, what it would look like, how it would happen. But now that you were here, the spark of what once was hope and magic was washed out, dimming the more you thought of it. You couldnât picture your Fatherâs smile anymore when thinking of him talking with so much joy, only flashes of horrendous memories, that of a wooded forest, and blood, lots of blood, pooling around your feet.Â
You felt a firm hand on your back, causing you to jump to turn around, greeted with the familiar face of Dumbledore, whom had been the person to bring you here, from your parents home. You smiled, warmly at the wise and kind man in front of you, âExcited?â He asked, as the other Professors walked along the middle, going to grab their respective seats before the sorting ceremony and feast. â Excited, but more nervous if anything Headmaster. â You chew on the inside of your cheek. You would probably be the only Seventh year to be sorted, the only Seventh year to not be in any of the same classes as the rest of your year. It was all so humiliating, and yet you still had some hope, an ounce of faith and true gratitude that you were even aloud among the school.
â Nothing to be scared of dear y/n. This is the right place for you.â You couldnât help to hold your trust within his voice, as you watched him give you another warm smile, before heading to the front table, joining the rest of the staff.Â
You stood at the back of the room, awaiting for the first years to arrive last. Not wanting to walk with them, too scared youâd be judged and ridiculed for being the oldest to be sorted. Your parents had bravery, so much of it to spare, and yet you didnât feel an ounce of bravery, perhaps ever. You werenât brave now, and you werenât brave when they had been killed. Perhaps the sorting hat wouldnât know what to do with you and they would have to throw you out, you thought. You werenât brave or cunning like your Mother and Father, nor smart like a Ravenclaw. Perhaps a Hufflepuff, but you werenât overjoyed with happiness, always smiling at everybody either. You felt like you were nothing. The girl who had to sit there, and watch the two people she loved the most die, and just let them, out of fear. Why had you been accepted into Hogwarts if you were simply;Â
    nothing.Â
-
As everybody settled in to The Great Hall, Dumbledore stood above everyone within the room. Describing how the Sorting Hat would work, and that when You had been sorted, to go to your assigned table.Â
â Now!â He spoke loudly, â Before we begin with the first years. We have a certain Seventh Year who needs sorting! y/n y/l/n?!â He called out for you, eyes across the hall, looking for whom he must be talking to. He called again and before you could process it fully, you began walking up to the front, and through the crowd of new students.
You sat down with hesitation within the chair, eyes closed as you did so, too scared to look into the eyes of your peers. The hat was lowered upon your head gently. It began to speak to you, as if it had been a person, knowing every little detail within your head.Â
â Interesting, very interesting. Youâre a bit confusing aye? Your Mother was a Slytherin, correct? Your Father though.,,.he was a Gryffindor? What an odd pairing.. hmmm... But you... you donât have these qualities- youâre different. A bit odd, not quite academic, but knowledge lies within your heart. Thereâs something strong about you- Youâre loyal, patient, un-judgemental- you seek no power, only a sense of justice, and of love.. Yes I see it now... HUFFLEPUFF!!!âÂ
In that moment you couldnât help but wear a small smile, and open your eyes, watching as the Hufflepuff table greated you with graceful, happy cheers.
-
After the sorting, and after everyone had sat within their respective seats, Dumbledore rose once again to the front, before the feast was to begin.
âWelcome! Welcome to another year at Hogwarts. Now, I'd like to say a few words... before we all become too befuddled by our excellent feast. First, I'm pleased to welcome Professor R.J. Lupin....who's kindly consented to fill the post... of Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher. Good luck, Professor.â
A Professor stood to his feet humbly, barely standing straight, almost being overwhelmed with the clapping the was brought by the mentioning of him. You couldnât help but to notice, the long scars amongst his face, some of them quite fresh, some scarred so deep, that they would never leave. You couldnât help but think to yourself whom had hurt him, or specifically what. If he knew anything about The Dark Arts, he must have encountered dangerous things quite often.
He softly bowed, his hands clasped together, before sitting back down within his seat. Your eyes rarely left where he had sat, still pondering within thought.

(Not my photo, credit to whoever made it!)
When I first got sorted I was a little upset that I wasnât in the same house as my brother. Harry was placed in Gryffindor and I was placed in Hufflepuff. Being new to the wizarding world I was kind of scared and nervous. Luckily an older student named Cedric helped me a lot. We became close and Cedric ended up asking me out. I of course said yes and Harry wasnât happy about it at first. Heâs always been the over protective brother, but once he saw how incredibly happy I was he accepted it.Â
It was the beginning of fourth year and I was sitting in the Great Hall next to Cedric. We may have seen each other over the summer recently, but it wasnât enough.Â
âNow weâre all settled in and sorted, Iâd like to make an announcement. This castle will not only be your home this year, but home to some very special guests as well. You see Hogwarts had been chosen-â Dumbledore cut himself off as Filch ran up to him. He whispered something to him and ran off again.Â
âSo Hogwarts has been chosen to host a legendary event. The Tri-Wizard Tournament.â He said and people started whispering. I furrowed my brow confused about what was going on.Â
âNow for those of you who do not know, the Tri-Wizard Tournament brings together three schools for a series of magical contests. From each school a single contestant is selected to compete. Now let me be clear, if chosen you stand alone. And trust me when I say these contests are not for the faint hearted, but more on that later. For now please join me in welcoming the lovely ladies of the Beauxbatons Academy of magic and their headmistress Madam Maxime.â Dumbledore said. The doors opened and a group of very pretty girls dressed in blue danced their ways up the aisle. Butterflies flew into the air and just about every boy was staring at them. They bowed and everyone applauded.Â
âAnd now our friends from the north, please greet the proud sons of Durmstrand and the high master Igor Karkaroff.â Dumbledore said. The doors opened again and some older looking boys walked up the aisles holding bo staffs. They were twirling them around and something slamming into the ground, making sparks fly. The girls were staring in awe, well I wasn't, I didnât much care for them honestly. Once everyone was settled the feast started.Â
Once it was finished Dumbledore gained everyoneâs attention again for another announcement.Â
âYour attention please! I would like to say a few words. Eternal glory, that is what awaits the student who wins the Tri-Wizard Tournament. But to do this that student must survive three tasks. Three extremely dangerous tasks. For this reason the Ministry has seen fit to impose a new rule. To explain all this we have the head of the Department of International Magic Cooperation, Mister Bartimus Crouch.â He said. Thunder roared above us and it started to rain. Students screamed as they started getting wet. Someone casted a spell at the ceiling and everyone was back to normal.Â
âWho is that?â I asked Cedric.
âMad-Eye Moody. He used to be an Aura.â He explained and I nodded.Â
âWhy is he called Mad-Eye?â I asked.Â
âWell, he lost his eye and leg during the war and he honestly his job just made him lose it.â He said and I frowned.Â
âHow sad.â I said.Â
âAfter much deliberation the Ministry has concluded that for their own safety no student under the age of seventeen shall be allowed to put forth their name for the Tri-Wizard Tournament. This decision is final.â Mr. Crouch said and a bunch of students started booing.Â
âSilence!â Dumbledore shouted and everyone quieted down. Dumbledore casted a spell over a box and it revealed a goblet containing a blue flame.Â
âThe goblet of fire. Anyone wishing to submit themselves for the tournament merely write their name upon a piece of parchment and throw it into the flame before this house on Thursday night. Do not do so lightly, if chosen thereâs no turning back. As from this moment the Tri-Wizard Tournament has begun!â Dumbledore explained.Â
The whole week Cedric was talking about wanting to put his name in. I was worried about him doing so, but I couldnât stop him if he really wanted to. Luckily he came to me before he made his final decision.Â
âWell, what do you think?â He asked and I sighed.Â
âHonestly? I think itâs too dangerous, maybe itâs because this is still kind of new to me but still, itâs really up to you.â I said.Â
âDo you not want me to?â He asked and I bit my lip.Â
âI just donât want to see you die.â I said and he smiled.Â
âDonât worry love, I promise Iâll come back to you.â He said and kissed me.Â
âYou better.â I giggled. He quickly wrote his name down and grabbed my hand. He led me through the halls and to the goblet. He ran up and placed his name into the fire. That was it, there was no going back.Â
The rest of the week I was so anxious. I wasnât going to be better until they picked names. I could only hope that Cedric wasnât picked. Thursday came soon enough and we were all gathered in the goblet room.Â
âSit down please! And now, the moment youâve all been waiting for, the champions selection!â Dumbledore said as everyone was taking their seats. Dumbledore approached the blue flame and it started glowing red. A name flew out and I felt my heart rate picked up.Â
âThe Durmstrang champion is, Viktor Krum!â Dumbledore shouted. People cheered as another name came out.Â
âThe champion from Beauxbatons, Fleur Delacour!â He shouted. Peopled cheered as the last name came out.Â
âThe Hogwarts champion, Cedric Diggory!â He announced and my heart clenched. Cedric smiled as he ran up to the front. He grabbed his name and ran into the room with the others.Â
âExcellent! We now have our three champions! But in the end only one will go down in history. Only one will hoist this chalice on champions, this vessel of victory the Tri-Wizard cup!â He said. Everyone cheered, but the goblet started glowing red again. Another name flew out and Dumbledore silently reads it.Â
âY/N Potter. Y/N Potter?â He called and my eyes widened. I looked over at Harry, who looked just as shocked.Â
âY/N Potter!â He shouted again and I slowly got up. I walked up to him and took my name from his hands.Â
âSheâs a cheat! Sheâs not even seventeen yet!â a few people shouted.Â
âShe got Cedric to put her name in!â Someone else said, but I ignored them and walked into the room with the others. Everyone looked at me with a mix of shock and confusion.Â
âY/N? What are you doing here?â Cedric asked.Â
âI-I donât know. My-â I was cut off by the teachers bursting into the room. Dumbledore grabbed me and my eyes widened.Â
âY/N! Did you put your name in the goblet of fire?â He asked.Â
âNo sir!â I answered.Â
âDid you ask one of the older students to do it for you?â He asked.Â
âNo sir!â I said.Â
âYouâre absolutely sure?â He asked.Â
âYes sir.â I answered.Â
âWell of course she is lying!â Madame Maxime said.Â
âThe hell she is. The goblet of fire is an exceptionally powerful magical object, only an exceptionally powerful conjurer could have hoodwinked it. Magic way beyond the talents of a fourth year.â Mad-Eye said.Â
âYou seem to have given this a fair bit of thought Mad-Eye.â Igor said.Â
âIt was once my job to think as dark wizards do Karkaroff, perhaps you remember?â He said.Â
âThat doesnât help Alastor. Leave this to you Barty.â Dumbledore said.Â
âThe rules are absolute, the goblet of fire constitutes a binding magical contract. Mrs. Potter has no choice, she is as of tonight⊠a Tri-Wizard champion.â He said and my eyes widened. Cedric and I went back to the common room and everyone was giving me a nasty glare.Â
âIgnore them.â Cedric whispered and took me to my room.Â
âDid you actually put your name in?â He asked.Â
âNo! Iâve been so terrified for you, I would never even think about putting my name in!â I said and he nodded.Â
âAlright, I believe you. I just had to ask.â He said.Â
âI donât want to do this Ced.â I said.Â
âI know, but you have to, love.â He said and kissed my head.Â
The first two trials werenât the easiest. Cedric had helped me prepare, but I was alone in this. I had managed to survive until the last challenge. Everyone was gathered outside at an arena and music was playing like nothing bad was about to happen. The champions walked out, along with myself. My nerves were at an all time high.Â
âEarlier today Professor Moody placed the Tir-Wizard cup deep within the maze. Only he knows its exact position. Now as Mr. Diggory-â Dumbledore was cut off by people cheering.Â
âAnd Mrs. Potter tied for first position they will be the first to enter the maze. Followed by Mr. Krum and Mrs. Delacour. The first person to touch the cup will be the winner. Iâve instructed the staff to patrol the perimeter, if at any point should a contestant wish to withdraw from the task he or she need only send up red sparks with their wands. Contestants, gather round.â He said and we all walked over to him.Â
âIn the maze youâll find not dragons or creatures of the deep. Instead youâll face something more challenging. You see, people change in the maze. Oh find the cup if you can, but be very weary you could just lose yours;ves along the way.â He said and I became more nervous.Â
âChampions! Prepare yourselves!â Mad-Eye said. Cedric hugged his Father and I hugged Harry.Â
âBe safe.â He said and I nodded while I bit my lip.Â
âIâm scared Harry.â I whispered.Â
âHey, you can do this.â He said with a reassuring smile.Â
âHarryâs right, youâre strong.â Cedric said coming over to us.Â
âIâm so scared.â I said.Â
âHey, you got this, love. You can win this.â He said and I smiled slightly.Â
âDonât go easy on me, Ced.â I said and he smiled.Â
âI wouldnât dream of it.â He said and pecked my lips. Harry went up went up to the stands while Cedric and I went to out starting spots.Â
âOn the count of three⊠One-â Dumbledore was cut off by the cannon going off. Cedric and I entered the maze and I watched the walls close behind me.Â
As I was walking through everything was making me anxious. There was a heavy mist and there were noises all around me. While I was walking I noticed Fleur was on the ground unconscious. She was slowly being swallowed by the walls and I started panicking slightly. I shot up the red sparks and hoped that someone would save her. I kept walked through the maze and noticed something shining in the distance. I started towards it and someone tried to hit me with a spell.Â
âGet down!â Cedric shouted and I ducked. Cedric hit him with a spell and ran up to him, kicking the wand from his hands. He pointed his wand at Viktorâs body and my eyes widened.Â
âNo stop! Heâs bewitched Ced!â I said. Cedric wasnât himself. The two of us started to struggle.Â
âGet off me!â He growled.
âHeâs bewitched!â I said again. He pushed me off him and the two of us started running towards the cup. The undergrowth grabbed Cedric and he fell to the ground. I looked at Cedric and I froze in fear.Â
âY/N!â He called. I quickly gained the courage and sent a spell to the plant that held him. I helped Cedric up and he looked at me.Â
âYou know, for a moment there I thought you were gonna let it get me.â He said.Â
âNever, I was just scared.â I said.Â
âSome game huh?â He asked.Â
âYeahâŠâ I said with a sigh. The wind started to blow and Cedric pushed me towards the cup.Â
âGo! Take it, you saved me!â He said and I shook my head.Â
âTogether, on three. One, two, three!â I said. We both ran towards the cup and grabbed it at the same time. The cup ported us somewhere and we landed on the ground.Â
âYou okay?â He asked.Â
âI think so, are you?â I asked and he nodded.Â
âWhere are we?â He asked. I looked around and noticed we were in a graveyard, it looked just like the one Harry and I have been dreaming ofâŠÂ
âIâve been here beforeâŠâ I whispered.Â
âItâs a portkey. Y/N, the cup is a portkey!â Cedric said.Â
âIâve been here before in a dream. Cedric, we need to get back to the cup, now!â I said.Â
âWhat are you talking about?â He asked, grabbing me by the shoulders. I felt a sudden pain in my head and I groaned in pain as I held my scar.Â
âWhat is it?â Cedric asked, his voice filled with concern.Â
âGet back to the cup, please!â I begged. Wormtail walked out holding what I could only assume is whatâs left of Voldemort.Â
âWho are you? What do you want?â Cedric asked, getting ready to protect me.Â
âKill the spare.â I heard Voldemortâs voice said.Â
âNo!â I shouted before he could cast the spell. I jumped in front of Cedric and the spell hit me.Â
Cedricâs POV
Y/N was dead. She took the curse that was meant for me. She sacrificed herself for me.Â
âYou idiot!â The creepy voice hissed. The man who was holding something walked closer and he trapped me with a tombstone.Â
âDo it quickly.â The voice said and the man dropped something into a cauldron.Â
âBones of a Father, unwillingly given.â He said. A bone hovered over to the cauldron and was dropped in.Â
âFlesh of the servant willingly sacrificed.â He said and cut his own arm off over the cauldron.Â
âBlood of the enemy forcibly taken.â He said and walked over to Y/N.
âLeave her alone!â I growled at him, but he ignored me. He took the knife and sliced down her arm. He quickly took the knife back over to the cauldron and let the drops fall in.Â
âThe Dark Lord shall rise again!â He said. The cauldron burst into flames and Voldemort emerged.Â
âMy wand Wormtail.â He said. My eyes widened. He was back. He looked back at me with a smirk and then over at Y/N.
âSuch a shame.â He said looking at her.Â
âThe only reason you are still alive is so you can return her to Harry Potter. Tell him I have returned and I will win.â He said and I was freed. I ran over to Y/N and grabbed the cup. We were transported back to the arena and everyone was cheering.Â
âY/N?â I heard Harry asked, and I just cried. Harry ran over and kneeled next to his sister.Â
âWhat happened?â He asked with tears falling down his face.Â
âHeâs back! Voldemort is back. It was meant for me, I was meant to die. She jumped in front of me and took it.â I tried.Â
âThis is your fault! You killed her!â Harry cried and clung to his sister.Â
âI-IâŠâ I couldnât say anything. I felt like it was my fault. I should have been the one protecting her, not the other way around.Â
âIâm sorry Harry.â I cried.Â
âSorry wonât bring back my sister!â He shouted. He was right. Y/N was gone and itâs all my faultâŠÂ

Enemies With Benefits
Poppy x MC
This fic is inspired by @nerdy-twin post.
Warning: Smut
My, my did i heard right? My sources have been telling me all day about the hilarious fights between Queen Bee and our new starlet
Newbee proved to us since day one that she isn't one to be messed with but don't let her charms blind you. Yesterday Chlo-- i mean Poppy's dog got humiliated Infront of our eyes loves so grab your snacks because this is going to be a long semester isn't that right Bea?
Kisses, The T
Oh that's great. Another post from The T and everyone is looking at me again. Why do people care about this stupid blog anyways? Its so irrelevant and so--
"Oh my god Bea!!" Zoe runs up to me basically jumping from excitement
"Wow slow down what happened?" Seriously she can't even catch her breath
"Girl you are top 15 material now!!" she shoves her phone on my face and i gasp. Alright now i love this blog. Everyone around me whisper and after a moment i can hear cheers from every direction of the pathway
"Woooo B-E-A, B-E-A" they all chant my name and i bow laughing at my sweet victory, i cant wait to wipe Poppy's smirk off her face
Everything stops as i hear clapping behind my back, Aaaaand there she is. "Congratulations you managed to get pass the emo wannabes and the bimbos"
"Big words coming from a bitch like you" it feels like i am in a movie because everyone gasps not knowing how to react to that. Poppy stare at me long enough to kind of worry
"Listen here you ugly pathetic idiot--"
"That's not what you told me last night" i say kinda proud of myself and that's when basically everyone looks shocked. Zoe covers her giggles because she knows alllll about it and Miss Regina George over here have gone completely pink
"I would never not even in a million years touch someone as cheap as you, Chloe go fetch me a latte, ta ta garbage" and she walks away just like that
"Wow you really have an effect on her" Zoe comes behind me laughing and i roll my eyes brushing off another stupid fight
"Do you want to watch a movie and eat our feelings?"
"Girl you know me so well"
___
"Okay but do you want to watch Mean Girls, or the finale of Gossip girl?" I ask shuffling through Netflix
"Bea this school is the definition of Gossip girl and dont get me started on Mean girls, Poppy is--" And that's when we hear a knock on the door
"It must be Penelope i invited her" Zoe yells from the kitchen pouring us both a glass of wine
I walk to the door opening it wide and thats when i see my dear enemy
"What can i do for you?" I say smirking
"For starters buy better clothes, this shirt is hideous" she gestures at my Deadpool shirt, excuse me? How dare she?
"If i wanted to deal with your attitude i would have..oh wait yes you stalk me so you are always on my way"
"Agh can you just stop talking"
I roll my eyes so hard my brain hurts. What the school doesn't know is that we have our secret fights in the bedroom. Of course i was shocked as well but here i am kinda liking Poppy, gosh i probably hit rock bottom
"Goodnight boo" i smile slamming the door shut continuing my night drinking wine and gossiping with Zoe.
___
"I will see you after class, those new burritos are to die for" Zoe says as she kisses my cheek goodbye, i love this woman
I walk freely around the empty campus. One thing that i love about Mondays is that on third period i can just have five minutes to myself and collect my thoughts, that until i find my self pinned against a wall
"Never do that again" Poppy says pointing her finger to my chest
I gasp at the surprise and she looks amused, her and her little games "Do what exactly? Exist?"
She rolls her eyes but i can see how hard she is trying to hide her smile "No one slams the door at me Newbee" and she poke her finger once
"Oh please you are always being an asshole"
"Listen here, just because i let you kiss me once doesn't mean anything, you are still garbage to me and you will always be" and another poke
She tries to do it again but i grab her finger looking at her deep into her eyes
"No you listen Poppy, i am tired of your manipulative games, you are the most awful person i have ever met!" I am glad the campus is empty, if people were here they would probably record or take pictures for The T
"Oh please Hughes you play tough but you really aren't, maybe you were important back in pig town, but here? You are just another pawn" her glare is dangerous, her eyes on fire, our tension so thick you can feel it through your bones
So i did what every logical person would do, i lean in and i capture her lips before she can say anything else that will ruin the mood. At first she tries to deny and make a surprised sound but soon her tongue is dancing against mine.
I pin her against the wall taking a quick glance around to make sure we are alone. I should be in Miss Kingsley class right now but oh god am i distracted
She places her hands around my neck pulling me closer to her, didn't i tell you? She really likes me deep inside this cold heart of hers
"Am i tough now?" i ask, our lips so close, our breaths ghosting on eachother's faces. She swallows hard "Not enough"
And as these words escape her mouth i pin her hands above her head with my one hand effortlessly as my other travel from her waist down her thighs. Poppy always wears a mini skirt enough to ignite my fire
I dig my nails slightly into her flesh and ask once again "I said, am i tough now?"
Poppy moans against my mouth and i start kissing her neck, something that drives her crazy. She wont admit it, she never does but she knows well how much i turn her on and it annoys her
"Let me hear it" i say sucking at the sensitive spot underneath her ear
"Yes you are!" she says holding onto me tight like her life depends on it
My hand now goes beneath her skirt and my oh my do i make her excited. My fingers brush slightly against her underwear and thats when the bell rings, ugh cockblocker
We both immediately separate adjusting our clothes watching the campus slowly getting crowded. Poppy's cheeks are red and i can already imagine what she is thinking of. I smile to myself watching her walk away
And that's when my phone buzz, of course a notification from The T
Hello loves,
Another day another drama. My rising star is now top 10 material, i am proud of you girl but i wouldn't count on it because we all know Miss perfect always gets what she wants. I love drama and Hughes is providing me with the best one yet. Good luck, you will need it
Kisses, The T
I still cant believe what i am reading. Top 10?!! I am here almost two months and i have outsmarted most of Poppy's moves. I smile as Zoe approach me screaming
"I knew you had it in you!!" she hugs me tight spinning me around
"Suck it Poppy" i yell as students around us are cheering. It feels good knowing that people are on my side finally seeing who they are bowing to years now
Someone tugs my hand and as i turn around i see Chloe crossing her arms
"So you managed to reach top 10 i see"
"Oh do you want an autograph? Thats so sweet" i say smirking
"Poppy is waiting for you behind the field"
"And who says that i am going?" I practically laugh but her face remains the same
"Listen i dont have all day Channel is having--"
"Alright dog, good girl! You earned a treat" and like that i give her head a pat walking towards hell basically.
I am sure Pops is mad at me, maybe she likes me but she is serious when it comes to her reputation. I approach her enjoying how nervous she looks
"If you wanted a date we could have arranged it" i say sitting next to her
Her expression is cold and distant and i sigh defeated "okay what is it? Is it the fact that i am top-"
"That list isn't that important Hughes, i can drag you down to the bottom within seconds" Wow okay i get it thats not the reason you are grumpy
"Why did you asked your dog to fetch me?"
Poppy rolls her eyes clearly annoyed by every word i say. Again i sigh not knowing what to do exactly. Sometimes i like to take her in. The way her foot is jiggling, the way she flips her hair when she is awkward. Everything about her is so perfect when all the eyes are laid on her but when we are alone i see another version of her
"I hate how entitled you feel" she finally says standing up "since you got here the only thing that you want is to ruin me!"
I feel my blood boiling as i stand up to get on her level "Excuse me? You attacked me the first moment i laid my foot in here!"
"That's because you love to shove your nose where it doesn't belong!" she now takes a step closer, anger written all over her features
"Oh give me a break, you were always cruel, people just now start to realise it" i take a step closer as well trying to intimidate her
"I run this school Newbee, you like it or not so go back to your little town where you were important because here? You are nothing" she spats out coldly and all i can do is stare at her. Her mask now falls completely
I can see the worry in her eyes, regret. Her posture isn't radiating power, instead i can see how uncomfortable she is. Aw are emotions a new thing for her? How charming.
Without missing a beat i kiss her letting all this anger turn into passion. "I hate you" i say kissing her neck desperately trying to find an inch of bare skin to touch
"I hate you more" she tries to say but her voice trails off when my hand goes underneath her skirt. I smile between our kiss when i feel how wet she is
"Did our fight made you excited?" I ask teasingly
"More kissing less talking" she says capturing my lips into a passionate kiss. I push her against a wall as my hand connects with her center
"Oh Bea.." she whispers against my lips and thats when i increase the pace just to hear her moan. Only i can watch her like this, so vulnerable so real
With each stroke i can hear her shouting my name digging her nails onto my back. Finally her body shakes as she has a violent release and i hold her tight against me
I bring my fingers to my lips and i lick them clean locking eyes with her. For a moment all we can do is stare at eachother and i think we are both questioning what did we just do? I smile trying to reach for her hand but she pulls away
Great she turned on her bitchy mode. "I will see you tomorrow?"
"I will ruin your entire life Hughes!!" She yells while walking away. Well that wasn't what she was saying seconds ago, oh wait yes she was busy screaming my name
"And yes you will, now go fuck yourself!" She yells again and i flip her off smiling
Thats how the rest of the semester went down. Infront of the eyes of the school we hated eachother's guts but behind closed doors we did the craziest things in the bedroom. Overall i do hate Poppy Min-Sinclair but i have to admit, this woman knows her stuff, enough to wonder how many layers does she really has?

Written In The Stars CXXXVII (Harry Potter xF!Oc)
A/N:Â Book 6 was beyond complicated to write due to some artistic choices I made lmao but again I do hope you guys like it even if I donât feel it was perfect bc I enjoyed how most of it turned out -Danny
Words: 4,005
Seriesâ Masterlist
Previous Chapter // Next Chapter
Listen to:Â âThe Black and Whiteâ -by The Band CAMINO.
Chapter Thirty-Five: A Prophecy.
Harry walked back to his chair and sat down heavily.
"Five years ago you arrived at Hogwarts, Harry, safe and whole, as I had planned and intended. Well â not quite whole. You had suffered. I knew you would when I left you on your aunt and uncle's doorstep. I knew I was condemning you to ten dark and difficult years. I considered it almost a miracle when Emily agreed to move in next door so she could keep an eye on you..."
Even though Lord Voldemort perished that night in Godric's Hollow, his followers continue to hunt down answers for months, neither Harry nor Mel would've been safe in the wizarding world.
"You would be protected by an ancient magic of which he knows, which he despises, and which he has always, therefore, underestimated â to his cost. I am speaking, of course, of the fact that your mother died âand your father too, Melâ to save you. They gave you a lingering protection he never expected, a protection that flows in your veins to this day. I put my trust, therefore, in your mother's blood, Harry. I delivered you to her sister, her only remaining relative."
"She doesn't love me. She doesn't give a damn â"
"But she took you. She may have taken you grudgingly, furiously, unwillingly, bitterly, yet still she took you, and in doing so, she sealed the charm I placed upon you. Your mother's sacrifice made the bond of blood the strongest shield I could give you. And as for you, Mel, you were just a baby, therefore Voldemort's followers couldn't tell if you were as skilled as your dad. It was only until last year when Voldemort realized you were hiding great power."
"I still don't â"
"While you can still call home the place where your mother's blood dwells, Harry, there you cannot be touched or harmed by Voldemort. He shed her blood, but it lives on in you and her sister. Her blood became your refuge. You need return there only once a year, but as long as you can still call it home, there he cannot hurt you. Your aunt knows this. I explained what I had done in the letter I left, with you, on her doorstep. She knows that allowing you houseroom may well have kept you alive for the past fifteen years."
"My mother isn't a Dumbledore," Mel frowned. "If that's what kept Harry safe, living with his aunt, then why did I only meet you after I turned eleven?"
"You were a direct descendant from my brother and not me, you weren't in danger as much as Harry. Once I found out about your outbursts I talked to him, I knew you'd need his protection... I'm afraid his guilt stopped him. I've been taking his place, having you come into my office for a weekly lesson as a way to make sure you would be both, protected, while also learning to defend yourself."
Harry came into a new realization.
"You sent that Howler. You told my aunt to remember â it was your voice â"
"I thought that she might need reminding of the pact she had sealed by taking you. I suspected the dementor attack might have awoken her to the dangers of having you as a surrogate son."Â
"It did. Well â my uncle more than her. He wanted to chuck me out, but after the Howler came she â she said I had to stay. But what's this got to do with..."
"Five years ago, then, you arrived at Hogwarts, neither as happy nor as well-nourished as I would have liked, perhaps, yet alive and healthy. You were not a pampered little prince, but as normal a boy as I could have hoped under the circumstances. Thus far, my plan was working well."
The memory of that small boy came to her. He didn't look much different from the Harry sitting beside her, except perhaps, for the way his gaze had darkened.Â
He'd always known Harry and Mel would eventually be hunted, and he'd made sure they'd be ready. Dumbledore had a plan from the moment they set a foot in the castle. She wondered exactly how much of everything happened accidentally, and how much had been planned.
"I don't understand what you're saying."Â
"Don't you remember asking me, as you lay in the hospital wing, why Voldemort had tried to kill you when you were a baby? Ought I to have told you then? You do not see the flaw in the plan yet? No... perhaps not. Well, as you know, I decided not to answer you. Eleven, I told myself, was much too young to know. I had never intended to tell you when you were eleven. The knowledge would be too much at such a young age, just like I refused to tell Mel about the rumours surrounding our family."
'The knowledge would be too much at such a young age'. Now, after four years, Mel felt weaker than when she was eleven. Somehow thinner, and far more fragile.
"Do you see? Do you see the flaw in my brilliant plan now? I had fallen into the trap I had foreseen, that I had told myself I could avoid, that I must avoid."
"I don't â"
"I cared about you too much. I cared more for your happiness than your knowing the truth, more for your peace of mind than my plan, more for your life than the lives that might be lost if the plan failed. In other words, I acted exactly as Voldemort expects we fools who love to act."
Mel visibly deflated, a new wave of hurt crashing against her heart.
"So it's true, then?" She asked. "Caring only makes us weak?"Â
"My dear, I defy anyone who has watched you as I have âand I have watched you more closely than you can have imagined â not to want to save you more pain than you had already suffered. What did I care if numbers of nameless and faceless people and creatures were slaughtered in the vague future, if in the here and now you were alive, and well, and happy? I never dreamed that I would have such a pair of young souls on my hands..."
Mel had held something similar whenever she would reach out to kiss Harry, and nothing else in the world mattered when they were alone together... but after the third task, they were always so alone.
"...You came out of the maze last year, having watched Cedric Diggory die, having escaped death so narrowly yourself... you, Mel, gave away part of your own life, selflessly risking your own well-being just for the frail chance to see Harry again, and I did not tell you, because to tell you after having almost lost each other in such a way would've been beyond cruel, though I knew, now Voldemort had returned, I must do it soon.Â
And now, tonight, I know you have long been ready for the knowledge I have kept from you for so long, because you have proved that I should have placed the burden upon you before this. My only defence is this: I have watched you struggling under more burdens than any student who has ever passed through this school, and I could not bring myself to add another â the greatest one of all."
"...I still don't understand," Harry responded, though now his voice was a bit more quiet and fearful.
Dumbledore admitted what they already knew: Voldemort tried to kill him because of the prophecy, and he'd tried to stop it before it could be fulfilled. Now, years after and once again in a proper body, Voldemort set his mind on hearing the whole thing, looking for a way to end it.
The sun was fully out now, and as he finished, Mel felt the first glimmer of hope peering through.
"Mel broke the prophecy," Harry said quietly. "She crushed it against the ground..."
She closed her injured hand tightly without caring about the sharp pain that shot up to her elbow.Â
"I knew we could get rid of it."
"How?" Harry frowned. "How could you know?"
"Because that orb was merely the record of the prophecy kept by the Department of Mysteries. But the prophecy was made to somebody, and that person has the means of recalling it perfectly," Dumbledore explained, looking at her with a strange glint in his eyes.
"Who heard it?" asked Harry, though he already knew the answer.
"I did. On a cold, wet night sixteen years ago, in a room above the bar at the Hog's Head Inn. I had gone there to see an applicant for the post of Divination teacher, though it was against my inclination to allow the subject of Divination to continue at all. The applicant, however, was the great-great-granddaughter of a very famous, very gifted Seer, and I thought it common politeness to meet her. I was disappointed. It seemed to me that she had not a trace of the gift herself. I told her, courteously I hope, that I did not think she would be suitable for the post. I turned to leave."
As Dumbledore stood up to retrieve something from a cabinet, Mel continued her story.
"That was the reason why my uncle knew what Voldemort was looking for," She swallowed harshly. "As soon as that thing broke I recognized the figure. How could I not? We've been seeing her for three years..."
Dumbledore came back holding the Pensieve, he put the tip of his wan on one temple and pulled, Mel stood up abruptly.Â
"Maybe I shouldn't be here to hear it."
"You've earned your place in this conversation," Dumbledore replied. "Your life is linked to Harry's, is only fair for you to hear it too... that way you'll be able to make an informed decision."
"Only if he agrees."Â
She was used to Harry keeping her at a proper distance from his doings, nevertheless, Harry grabbed her wrist.
"Sit down... please."
Before she could reply a figure rose from the Pensieve, there stood a small version of Sibyll Trelawney with a voice Mel had only imagined thanks to Harry's tales from two years ago:
"THE ONE WITH THE POWER TO VANQUISH THE DARK LORD APPROACHES... BORN TO THOSE WHO HAVE THRICE DEFIED HIM, BORN AS THE SEVENTH MONTH DIES... AND THE DARK LORD WILL MARK HIM AS HIS EQUAL, BUT HE WILL HAVE POWER THE DARK LORD KNOWS NOT... AND EITHER MUST DIE AT THE HAND OF THE OTHER FOR NEITHER CAN LIVE WHILE THE OTHER SURVIVES..."
Professor Trelawney vanished slowly.
"Professor Dumbledore?" Harry said after a moment. "It... did that mean... What did that mean?"Â
"It meant... that the person who has the only chance of conquering Lord Voldemort for good was born at the end of July, nearly sixteen years ago. This boy would be born to parents who had already defied Voldemort three times."
"It means â me?"
Dumbledore eyed both teenagers carefully before speaking.
"The odd thing is, Harry, that it may not have meant you at all. Sibyll's prophecy could have applied to three babies, one of them being Mel."
"What?"Â
"I thought it was meant to be Matthew's baby," He sighed, "an Auror and a Dumbledore... but alas, you were born at the start of the month â and you were a girl. There were still two more babies in line. Both born at the end of July that year, both of whom had parents in the Order of the Phoenix, both sets of parents having narrowly escaped Voldemort three times. One, of course, was you. The other was Neville Longbottom."
"But then... but then, why was it my name on the prophecy and not Neville's?"
"The official record was relabeled after Voldemort's attack on you as a child. It seemed plain to the keeper of the Hall of Prophecy that Voldemort could only have tried to kill you because he knew you to be the one to whom Sibyll was referring."
"Then â it might not be me?"
"I am afraid that there is no doubt that it is you."Â
"But you said â Neville was born at the end of July too â and his mum and dad â"
"You are forgetting the next part of the prophecy, the final identifying feature of the boy who could vanquish Voldemort... Voldemort himself would 'mark him as his equal.' And so he did, Harry. He chose you, not Neville. He gave you the scar that has proved both blessing and curse."
"But he might have chosen wrong! He might have marked the wrong person!"
"He chose the boy he thought most likely to be a danger to him. And notice this, Harry. He chose, not the pureblood (which, according to his creed, is the only kind of wizard worth being or knowing), but the half-blood, like himself. He saw himself in you before he had ever seen you, and in marking you with that scar, he did not kill you, as he intended, but gave you powers, and a future, which have fitted you to escape him not once, but four times so far â something that neither your parents, nor Neville's parents, ever achieved."
In her mind, an alternate life started to take form: Mel as the orphan, Harry's parents alive and well, it was her the one facing death every time...Â
Then poor scarred Neville, while Mel and Harry lived surrounded by their families, perhaps even together. The fact that the only reason why Harry was the chosen one was a matter of gender and dates...Â
"Why did he do it, then? Why did he try and kill me as a baby? He should have waited to see whether Neville or I looked more dangerous when we were older and tried to kill whoever it was then â or even Mel... She's a Dumbledore â She's the strongest!"
"That might, indeed, have been the more practical course, except that Voldemort's information about the prophecy was incomplete. The Hog's Head Inn, which Sibyll chose for its cheapness, has long attracted, shall we say, a more interesting clientele than the Three Broomsticks. As you and your friends found out to your cost, and I to mine that night, it is a place where it is never safe to assume you are not being overheard. Of course, I had not dreamed, when I set out to meet Sibyll Trelawney, that I would hear anything worth overhearing. My â our â one stroke of good fortune was that the eavesdropper was detected only a short way into the prophecy and thrown from the building."
"So he only heard..?"
"He heard only the first part, the part foretelling the birth of a boy in July to parents who had thrice defied Voldemort. Consequently, he could not warn his master that to attack you would be to risk transferring power to you â again marking you as his equal. So Voldemort never knew that there might be danger in attacking you, that it might be wise to wait or to learn more. And once Mel was born at the start of July as a girl, and you a boy, this only narrowed it down to his apparent advantage. He did not know that you would have 'power the Dark Lord knows not' â"
"But I don't! I haven't any powers he hasn't got, I couldn't fight the way he did tonight, I can't possess people or â or kill them â"
"There is a room in the Department of Mysteries," Dumbledore replied carefully, "that is kept locked at all times. It contains a force that is at once more wonderful and more terrible than death, than human intelligence, than forces of nature. It is also, perhaps, the most mysterious of the many subjects for study that reside there. It is the power held within that room that you possess in such quantities and which Voldemort has not at all.Â
That power is what has aided Mel to know if you're in danger and allowed her to help, that power took you to save Sirius tonight. That power also saved you from possession by Voldemort, because he could not bear to reside in a body so full of the force he detests. In the end, it mattered not that you could not close your mind. It was your heart that saved you. So you see, Mel," He added, "caring it's never useless."
"The end of the prophecy... it was something about... 'neither can live...' "
"'... while the other survives,' " Dumbledore concluded.
"So... so does that mean that... that one of us has got to kill the other one... in the end?"
"Yes."
They stayed silent for the longest time, Mel found her voice at the same time as her courage.
"Okay," She spoke. "We just have to make sure you're the one that lives."
Dumbledore's face hinted at a smile, but it did not form fully. Harry stared at her like the thought of surviving was next to impossible.
"I feel I owe you two other explanations," said Dumbledore carefully. "You may, perhaps, have wondered why I never chose you as prefects? I must confess that I rather thought both of you had enough responsibility to be going on with..."
Mel let out a dry chuckle, Harry just sighed.Â
"The second and final... is about the decision you ought to take."
"What decision?"
"Your lifeline," He started, "I've been reading about it since the third task... It's called Unio Azoth â A universal cure for any kind of injury, you heal with life itself, and it's always effective. However, not many people dare use it because it demands great sacrifice from both sides of the connection. It's created through highly complex magic, or it can happen, as it was your case, after multiple shared near-death experiences," He paused. "It can also be removed."
There was a split second in which the students didn't know how to react.Â
"You're saying," Mel started. "We've been hurting each other for a whole year â and you hid this from us?"
"You were on bad terms after the tournament, the removal can only happen if both sides consent, and you were holding onto it tightly, Mel."
"Is it dark magic?" Harry asked abruptly. "Our connection?"
Dumbledore took another long look at him.
"I believe that what you're trying to ask is if it's damaging for any of you," He replied. "Which is something that depends on the circumstances. There have been moments your connection has improved your lives, but it's also damaged you physically to a great extent. You're asking a question only you can answer, Harry."
"This could've fixed everything between us," Mel felt her anger increasing. "And you just let us argue instead? Why?"
"It was your impulsive actions that kept me from speaking, I couldn't risk one of you trying to cut it without the other knowing, it would've resulted in tragedy."
"We would've acted differently if only weâd known! The reason why we fought was because of how guilty Harry felt about putting me through extra pain â We could've just cut the damn thing â You thought I would've just decided to abandon him?"
"Isn't that what you were attempting this year?" Dumbledore asked pointedly.
"Harry and I couldn't stop fighting, I was tired â I had to keep my distance," Mel stood up. "He spent a whole year drowning in guilt thinking we couldn't change things â"
"When I found out it could be removed," Dumbledore's voice came out just as firm as hers. "You were already far too traumatized. Losing this would've felt like losing a limb. You weren't ready to make a choice then, but I can't keep you in the dark any longer, you have the whole picture now, so you can make an informed decision, but I must ask you to think â"
"I don't need to think it over," Mel said, but Harry spoke at the same time.
"I want to keep it."
"What?"Â She looked at him in disbelief.
Harry stared at her.Â
"It's thanks to this that I knew you were having panic attacks, you've saved my life many times now, I owe you â and it doesn't have to hurt, you can control it, I just need to learn how to do it too!"
"You've been nagging me about how much of a burden this was and suddenly you cling to it as if it were a blessing?" She narrowed her eyes.
"It's just..." His jaw tensed. "It works both ways â if I give it up and Voldemort takes you... I can't leave you to deal with it alone, you'd do the same for me. You've already done it."
Mel shook her head, speechless.
"The decision is yours to make..." Dumbledore concluded. "You have until next term to tell me, and then we'll do whatever you please."
They were walking side by side without speaking. She did not wish to fight, and she felt like it would happen if they were to bring up... well, everything.Â
"I'm sorry," He muttered.Â
"I don't want to hear it. I'm to blame as much as you are. I ignored you â Dumbledore's right, knowing would've tricked us into thinking we could deal with it on our own, it would've killed us... I've been selfish enough this year to know I would've felt tempted to try and cut it on my own. I won't admit it in front of him, though..."
"You weren't â"
"I don't want to have this conversation," She stopped walking. "Everyone thinks I'm like my father or my uncle... and I'm not. When I was with you I was just Mel... whoever that's supposed to be. When we fought I got lost â you said awful things to me, but you were the only one who wasn't treating me like some overpowered freak..."
"I can't promise we won't fight in the future, but there are worse things than disagreeing and the thought of dying without telling you that I..." He came to a halt, voice breaking.
They wanted to talk about so many things, and yet Mel felt like they would never get to say anything at all.
"You know," She said softly. "We've gone through so much already... and it's hard, looking at you and having to pretend I can continue like this."
"What do you mean?"
"I'm feeling so alone, Harry," She forced the words out of her. "I miss you."
She'd almost been murdered that night, treated like a ragdoll, and traumatized until there was no safe place in her world. Still, nothing made her feel quite as vulnerable and tiny as Harry's understanding of her, the way he knew every single corner of her mind as if it were his own.
Harry gazed at her with hurt, he clenched his jaw and shook his head lightly. She was ready to watch him leave when suddenly, he hugged her.
Mel was having trouble breathing against his shoulder but her arms kept him close, one hand made its way up to the back of his head while the other went to the middle of his back. He was a few inches taller than her, but she still felt like they were a perfect fit.
"I'm sorry," Harry mumbled against her hair, and Mel knew he wasn't just talking about Sirius.
"Me too," She closed her eyes tightly. "We'll find a way through this... together."
