Note: To be honest when I thought about writing this I instantly thought about the little mermaid's original back story where the prince falls in love with another girl and the little mermaid was tasked to kill him to stay human, if she couldn’t she’d remain a mermaid forever, but since she loved the prince so much she couldn’t bare to do it so she jumped into the ocean. To me, I feel like the lyrics of the song just match this whole idea about feelings and Pavitr doesn’t feel the same way.

Summary: you've liked the cute boy Pavitr for quite some time ever since you guys became friends you instantly started to like him with his wide smile, his warm positive energy, and the way his family accepted you into their family with open arms just made it better. Having tea time with Pavitr and his aunt just made your day. You thought you guys had something serious together, but you couldn’t have been more wrong than you’ve ever been in your whole life. Soon your heart was crushed you found out you were moving and that you might not ever see the man you love ever again..the day you left was heartbreaking for both you and Pavitr, he was heartbroken and didn’t want to let you go, he loved your company and you were his only friend from his universe, he couldn’t bare to lose you. But yet you slipped through his fingertips like quicksand... 

You never thought you’d come back to your hometown until it was summertime, just to be heartbroken once more like the night you left just to come back to your hometown to see the one you love with someone else...

How long has it been since you left your hometown? The man you loved to the moon and back? It's been 4 years. Ever since your parents got a new job and you got accepted in the most prestige school ever and in those 4 years you’ve learned proper etiquette, manners, ways to respond to certain situations, learning to correct your posture, learning the difference between a desert spoon and a soup spoon. And throughout all those 4 years you’ve changed from a carefree person to a more strict and proper young lady but in those 5 years there was only one thing and one thing only that made you push harder towards your goals, it was him. 

Pavitr..he made your heart race, he made you, you,  he was hurt the other half, well you’d like to think of it that way at least. The night you left just tore a hole in your heart as you hugged your best friend and your long-time crush as he cried into your shoulder holding you as close as he could ever hold anyone. He begged over and over again begging you to stay with him, that you needed to stay, he offered you to stay at his parent's place but you couldn’t accept, not because you didn’t want to but because your parents didn’t want you to stay here in the first place. 

“Please don’t go N/N” you heard your best friend begging you to stay as his hold squeezed around your body. You didn’t know what to do o say, your words were stuck in your throat as they grew dry all you did was hold your best friend not knowing when you could ever see him again. Here is his voice. Seeing his smile. Feeling his touch. This was the final time you’d be seeing all those things and hearing all those things. 

That night still haunts you to this day as you walked out of the train station with a language in your hand as you dragged it off the train as began walking to find the nearest cab. You were finally home. After 4 long years, you couldn’t wait to see him. After so long you missed playing with his hair, holding him close, seeing him smile, laughing with him, smiling with him, and heck even talking to him!! Even though you were now proper you knew you could loosen up all those 4 years of hard work in one second when you saw him. 

You scrolled through your phone through your old texts with Pavitr and you found the address he sent you a while ago. You walked out of the crowded station and called for a taxi cab and to your surprise one came right away, something was looking up you could feel it in your stomach as butterflies emerged from them filling your body with joy and excitement.

The only reason you were back home in the first place was that you had a 6-month break and you couldn’t wait to spend it with your best friend who was still a crush you’d longed to see for so long.. Even though you both texted here and there it wasn’t the same... The taxi driver took your leagues as you sit in the back seat of the fresh-smelling cab handing him the addresses and he began to drive and of course traffic. But you couldn’t help but smile you missed every single detail of your home town from the food, heck even the traffic that you hated the most living here made you smile! You were in such a good mood nothing could stop or change your feeling. 

You looked out the window falling in love with the city you grew up in all over again as you decided to rest your eyes to pass the time and to your surprise you were now in front of your favorite place in the whole city his home. You got out of the cab and tipped the driver as he handed you your belongings, you thanked him and bowed slightly as you quickly ran up the stairs to knock on the door only to be greeted by the woman who’d watch over you the most. 

Her eyes widened as she quickly pulled you into a huge tight hug not even letting you speak as she held you close to her pressing kisses all over your forehead. 

“Welcome back N/N! It's been so long! How was the flight huh? Did you get here safely?” she pulled away and cupped your face moving your face back and forth. 

“My you have gotten prettier over the years I see! Does Pavitr know you here? he’s going to be thrilled!” she said as she squeezed you tighter. You smiled and hugged the Pavitr’s aunt tighter as you both pulled away she quickly took your stuff. 

“It's nice to see you again aunty..” you spoke softly as you walked in taking your shoes off as your body melted with the scent of the species you’ve missed so much. You finally felt at home again as you closed the door behind you gently as Pavitr’s aunt put your stuff near the couch.

“He’s on the balcony per usual! I’m sure you know the way hm?” she said flashing you a smile as she went back to the kitchen, she knew you had a thing for her son but she couldn’t bare to tell you her son has fallen in love with the police captain's daughter Gayatri. She couldn’t bare to tell you the sad news since you knew it would crush you like a rock...

You quickly nodded as your heart began to race faster and faster with each step you took up the stairs you found yourself practically running up the apartment complex’s stairs to the main balcony where you saw the man you loved and missed the most. You smiled widely, you were going to say his name but you stopped. Your eyes grew wide as you saw him kissing a girl.

The man you loved... For the longest time even when you were apart were kissing another girl. You bit your cheek harshly as you stood a good distance between the two of them watching them. The way he stared at her. The way his hand was placed on her cheek caressing it ever so gently like she was the most precious thing in the world was what you’ve wanted all your life. You were conflicted with emotions. You've waited so long to tell him. You waited so long, 4 years for god sake just to come back to your hometown to see him kissing another girl. How you wished it was you.

You didn’t even notice the tears running down your cheeks as you touched your cheeks to wipe them gently. You didn’t know if you wanted to call out to him anymore but.. God you missed him so much. You shifted slightly causing his spider senses to go off as he turned around to see you.

His eyes grew wide as he rubbed them thinking you were just an illusion but no you were real. He quickly got up on his feet as his girlfriend Gayatri looked at him in confusion she then looked forward to seeing you. She's heard about you through Pavitr. 

“N/N?.. Is that..really you?..” he asked as he felt a lump in his throat as he started at you from a distance. You couldn’t form words all you did was cry as you opened out your arms for him widely and boy did he run.. He ran like no tomorrow..he tackled you to the cold hard ground as he cried his heart out. He was so happy to see you again. To hold you..to hear your voice. To smell your sweet scent. He’s missed everything about you.

You lost your balance when he tackled you to the ground, you instantly wrapped your arms around him hugging him tightly as you humanly possibly could as he dug a hole in your neck laughing slightly as tears rushed down his eyes as your hands made their way to his hair as you ran your fingers weakly through them. 

“I’ve missed you so damn much you have no idea how long I’ve waited to hold you again..” you mumbled softly as you felt him hugging you tighter, he didn’t care that his girlfriend saw him like this he just cared about you right now. You chuckled slightly as your tears ran down your face faster, you felt like you were in a dream. Not the best dream but you were glad to hold him so close to you all over again. 

“I’ve missed you more. I-i thought you’d never come back again..” he whispered into your ear as he looked at you and wiped your tears slightly as he pressed his forehead against yours as you both laughed, just happy to be in each other presence after years apart. Well everyone except you, boy were you crushed.

You were crying for two reasons. One because you were happy to see the man you liked for years but you were sad and crushed..like a building had fallen on you and crushed your whole heart because his heart doesn’t belong to you.

He noticed that you were still crying as he continued to wipe your tears then getting off of you and helping you up. You got up and saw his girlfriend walking to the two of you. She looked nice and had a warm smile on her face, you noticed Pavitr walking away from you to wrap his arm around his girlfriend's waist as he introduced her to you. 

“Babe this is my beast friend Y/N! The girl I told you about!” he said smiling widely at you as she did the same extending her hand out to you. God, you wanted to slap it away and run but you maintained composure and smiled weakly

“Hey, my name is Gayatri it’s nice to finally meet the girl my boyfriend has been talking about nonstop!” she said chuckling slightly as you shook her hand gently and then pulled away. You felt your stomach in knots, that was supposed to be YOU not HER, YOU. you inhaled gently and tried to put a smile on your face but god was it so hard. 

“Nice to meet you... Didn't think Pavitr could manage to pull someone as beautiful as you.” you teased slightly as the three of you laughed slightly you being the last one to stop as you looked down to the ground, Pavitr and Gayatri noticed this as she kissed his cheek telling him she’d be downstairs with his aunt. 

“It was nice meeting you Y/N” she spoke softly as she left the balcony leaving you two alone. When she left you instantly felt a pair of warm hands caressing your face making you look up. You met his warm gaze and god that was your breaking point... You couldn't help but cry as his expression turned into a worried one as he moved closer to you continuously wiping your teasers trying to calm you down. 

“Hey hey... What's wrong... Talk to me..” he said softly. Now was your chance to tell him how you felt for him after all this time..you inhaled sharply as your eyes grew red and puffy, and you bit your inner cheek harshly as you looked away from his warm gaze you’ve missed all of this time. You took a mental note and tried to hype yourself up telling yourself you could do this, this was your chance to tell him how you truly felt. Here it goes... 

“I love you,” you spoke quickly as you moved his hands away from your face, your back turning to face him as he stood there making sure he heard correctly. 

“Y-you love me N/N?..” you heard his voice and his tone sounding confused like he never thought you would ever like him, you were like a sister to him, and he never thought those moments spent with you were because you had romantic feelings towards him. He placed a hand on your shoulder gently and made you look at him and his heart broke, he could see the pain and anger in your eyes... You were a mess and you knew it. You didn’t know if you could even say another word to him without breaking down as you put your lip harshly trying to hold your tears back. 

“Yes, I love you, you idiot! Who wouldn’t love you? You are so sweet, kind, and caring, you always know how to make me laugh! Cheering me up! Being by my slide!..being you..” You looked away as you wiped your tears, his gaze fixated on you made the knot in your stomach grow, you felt like you were going to throw up right here right now. Pavitr didn’t know what to say but all he did was stare and try to process how much you loved him... He moved his hands from your shoulders to hold your face in your hands as he stared into your glossy eyes... He could tell how bad this was eating you up. 

“I love you so much... But.. but you have someone else..someone who you love and it’s not me..” You got out of his grasp and he hesitated... He wanted to hold you so bad but you slipped out of his hands like grains of sand like the night you left... He felt a knot in his stomach as he saw your back facing him. 

“She loves you..and you love her. I’m glad you are happy you deserve it, my love..” you mumbled softly as you completely broke down you needed to leave now. 

“I need to go,” you said quickly as you ran off of the balcony onto the staircases your hands gripped onto the railing to support you as you were now downstairs, Gayatri looking at you with sadness in her eyes.. She felt bad but decided to say nothing. Pavitr chased after you and watched you grabbing your luggages. No, he couldn’t lose you again. He stood in front of the door blocking it as your eyes met his. There was no way in hell he would lose you and not do anything... He refused to go down that path once more but you knew deep down you needed to get out of here..you shook your head. 

“No. I am not losing you again N/N..please.” His cheeks were stained with tears as you looked at him your heart just broke into a million pieces as you tried to pry him off of the door he wouldn’t budge..his voice was cracking as he cried, and he stared at you begging for you to stay. 

“N/N I can’t and will not lose you again. Please... I-i’m begging you.” you stared into his eyes searching them as your own grew glossier by the second... You couldn’t bare to see him like this... You caused his pain and you just couldn't live with someone you loved knowing you still had feelings for him. You knew deep down he will never love you, not in any universe were you two together..and you knew it... You were destined to love him and he was destined to love someone else...

“I’m sorry Pavitr... B-but it’s for the best. I-I’m sorry I love you with all my heart..” you said as you placed a kiss on his forehead. His eyes grew wide as he stared at you. He was about to say something but before he knew it you knocked him out with a combat technique he taught you a while back before you left your hometown. You watch him falling to the floor as his girlfriend rushed to his side.

You gathered your belongings and rushed out of the apartment tears stinging your eyes as he quickly gained consciousness once more and got out of his girlfriend's grasp as he chased after you calling out your name over and over again but nothing. He tried to grasp your hand but you were too quick to get into the cab as he watched you drive off... He lost you again...

Even though I am not happy... I'm happy to see you happy..even though it is not with me...

Adventurer's Kit

Summary: One day while on an adventure, you find a boy in the woods. (Child!Izuku & Child!Reader, Reader is a rather ambitious 5 yr old and an escape artist and their Appa has trouble keeping up with them lmao)

It was a sunny day in the summertime, and you were on an adventure.

Your Appa had warned you not to go too far from your house, but there were no fun things by your house. Only old people and quiet streets. So you decided to walk to the park your Appa had taken you to last week. Besides, you were a big kid now. You turned 5 two whole months ago!

At the park, you had seen all sorts of kids running around and playing at a super cool playset. But your Appa had dragged you away before you could play, which was totally unfair and very mean. You could no longer wait to join all the kids. Especially the big kids. They looked cool.

You followed the path you remember walking alongside your Appa until green trees surrounded you. You hummed a song you'd heard on Appa's radio as you walked, swinging your adventurer's kit at your side. As you paused your steps, trying to remember the next part of the song, you heard crying from a little farther ahead.

Oh no! Crying meant someone was sad, and while Appa said that being sad was okay sometimes, it was still bad most of the time! You scrambled forward towards the sound of distress.

You stopped in front of a kid who looked to be about your age, wearing big red shoes and a yellow sweatshirt. His face was hidden in his knees, only his green hair really visible. His scent was a yucky mix of pain-sad-scared and you knew you had to fix it.

"Are you okay?"

The boy's head popped up, and his tearful eyes made your heart feel all achey and wrong.

"I-I hurt my knee."

"Can I see?"

Slowly, he extends his knee with a small hiss of pain, and the pain-sad-scared smell grew stronger. Your face scrunched up at the yucky smell, and you try to make it go away with your happy-content-safe smell. The boy's eyes fluttered shut at the smell and he sighed. Slowly, the pain-sad-scared started to fade away.

You sit down next to his leg and pull out your adventurer's kit. Appa was right to add so many bandages in there!

"... What's that?" the boy asked softly.

You beam and show off the box proudly. "It's my adventurer's kit! I take it with me whenever I go outside, like Appa said to. It's got food, water, bandages, socks, wipes, and a bunch of other stuff you gotta have for adventures!"

"Do you have the superhero bandages?"

"Mhm! I can give you some for your knee!"

The boy's smile brightened at the mention of superheroes. "Do you have All Might?"

"Duh, of course I do!"

"Can I have some?"

"Yeah!" You take out the package of assorted hero bandages and pick the All Might ones. Carefully, so you don't hurt his scrap, you put the bandages on his knee.

The happy grin that the boy gives you makes all the warm feelings flood your chest and you can't help but return the smile. "Oh, here! Since you were very brave, you get a candy!"

You take one of the best candies from your kit and place it into the palm of his hand. It's also your favorite kind, but you don't mind sharing with him. Since his smile makes you have warm feelings.

"Ah, thank you!"

"You're welcome! Now, where are you going? Are you on an adventure like me?"

"No...I was playing on the playground, but I thought I saw a butterfly and so I chased it. But then I went too far and I don't know where I am." The bad sad-scared smell started up again, but luckily you could fix it.

"Is it the one with the blue slide?"

"Yeah!"

"That's where I'm going, so I'll take you there!" You stick your hand out for him to grab. He takes it and you lift him up to stand.

You squeeze his hand tight and don't let go. You don't want the warm feelings to go away quite yet, and holding his hand makes the warm feelings so much warmer.

"I'll lead the way, prince!"

"Eh? Prince?"

"Yeah, caused I saved you! Like how knights save princesses in stories."

"Are you the knight?"

"Of course!"

The boy giggled and squeezed your hand back. "Okay, knight."

(Cue Inko sobbing and hugging Izuku the moment they arrive back, and once she's calmed down, asking where Reader's parents are. Then cue Appa running towards you in relief and the berating you for running away again.

Full Story!

This was requested, but I lost the request sadly.

The sully family considered themselves much more than just a family. They thought of each other as their beginning, middle, and end. They'd be there for one another through thick and thin. Despite their arguments, they'd act like nothing had happened hours later.

As they were all inseparable, the two that were the most inseparable were Neteyam and his twin sister, Neyke. Growing up as the eldest, they had each other before their younger siblings were ever born.

As the time came that they were to bid their homeland goodbye, Neteyam and Neyke spoke about how they wanted to stay. Even tried to fight to stay. To no avail, they were forced to go with. It broke Neyke's heart to leave her grandmother behind.

As they traveled, Neyke was visibly saddened, her entire family could tell by a single glance her way. Her Ikran flew slower than the rest, and she held her head down the entire time. Neteyam, who she had a special bond with, felt her entire pain. Growing up beside one another they gained what Humans called, "Twin Telepathy". Yet theirs was special, stronger; unbroken.

Glancing over his shoulder to look at his sister who flew directly behind him, his ears flattened, and his eyes glistened with the thought of crying. Feeling her brother's stare, Neyke looked up mustering up the best smile she could to try and reassure him she was fine.

Shaking his head, he turned around and heard his father's voice echo through his head.

"I understand you two grew up here. But this isn't our home when we are in danger. Home is somewhere you can be safe and at peace."

Jake tried to reason with them, as the twins fought to stay and protect their people, their home.

"We're here! Land safely!"

Neytiri yelled out, snapping Neteyam from his thoughts. Calling out to his Ikran as they all landed, Neyke took notice that many of the lighter Na'vi walked towards them with caution. Hopping off of her Ikran, she sadly smiled at him petting his head.

Slowly sending a Prayer his way, allowing him to leave if he wanted, she disconnected their bond as she followed her family. Sticking close to Neteyam, she scanned the crowd that formed around them. Feeling out of place, she felt Neteyam give her arm a comforting squeeze.

Out of her peripheral vision, she saw people crowding around them. Breathing in deeply, she looked up at her father as he stood in front of his family.

"Toruk."

Blanking out, not paying attention to her surroundings, her hearing fell quiet as she looked around. Neteyam noticed this and quickly pulled her closer, as Lo'ak kept his eyes trained on his mother who was now arguing.

"Areyay ouyay okayyay eykenay?"

Speaking in Pig Latin to her, as they were always wandering around the labs when they were younger. Stumbling across the book of languages, they decided to have their own language only they could understand. Norm recommended Pig Latin as he told them it was the easiest to learn.

Blinking she looked over at him, slightly tilting her head up to look at him as she zoned back into hearing her surroundings. Slowly nodding her head once she processed what he had asked.

"Yeah."

Turning her attention to the one who tried to argue with his father, she stared at him, her head tilting in curiosity. She wasn't ever fond of conversing with others unless they were family, so when she heard she had to talk with others in order to learn their ways, her stomach felt queasy.

"Come."

Lo'ak said, grabbing her wrist as she stumbled with her footing, carefully regaining her balance no thanks to Lo'ak's speed walking. As Lo'ak released her wrist, she looked around taking in the place, and noting how beautiful it was.

Walking into her new home, her Marui, she watched as her mother dropped what she was carrying, already sensing she didn't enjoy it. Watching as her siblings ran in excitement to the water, wasting no second to jump in, she sighed trudging after.

Instead of jumping, she slowly lowered herself into the water and took a deep breath in before she quickly went underwater. Seeing her siblings in the distance, she swam towards them admiring all the sea life that passed her.

Breaking above the water, she looked around to see who was with them. Watching heads pop up from the water, she jumped slightly as one popped up right beside her.

"Not a fan of water?"

Looking over at the one who spoke, she took in his appearance and she shrugged, smiling at him shortly.

"It's just a hard change."

She told him truthfully, and he only nodded in response not knowing how she felt as he grew up here.

"I'm Rotxo. You?"

As Rotxo spoke she took in his mannerisms, noting how he'd fidget with the water after he spoke something, and how his eyes slimmed when he talked.

"Neyke."

She said as he smiled at her, motioning for her to follow. As the two went under, she swam alongside him, realizing the other male had disappeared.

'Here.'

He signed to her before he remembered they didn't speak their sign language. Pointing up, the two resurfaced, and he pointed to the rock that Neteyam and Lo'ak were climbing up on.

"We will train to breathe."

He explained to her, as he helped her up onto the rock, settling down beside Neteyam, Neyke right beside him. Glancing to her right at Lo'ak who kept his eyes on the female, she looked down following the instructions she was told.

Growing frustrated not being able to breathe through her stomach, she huffed as she jumped slightly feeling someone's hand ghost her stomach. Looking to her left sharply, she noticed Rotxo hesitantly place his hand on her stomach.

Attempting to help her focus her breathing, she kept her eyes trained on the other Na'vi.

"Breath."

He whispered to her, and she breathed in, noticing how much different it felt. Breathing out, Rotxo smiled at her as he pulled his hand away giving her an approving nod.

Neteyam smirked at her and lowered his head in a knowing way causing her to roll her eyes.

Sitting beside Neteyam as they were setting on the deck, enjoying the stars she looked over at him with a sorrow written across her face.

"Your eyes don't shine like they did back home."

Neteyam told her, as he wrapped his arm around her comfortingly.

"I left my shine to the stars back home. So they'd shine brightly to keep our people safe."

Neteyam could only sigh as they both looked back up at the sky.

"Home is where you are, Neyke."

Neteyam told her, and Neyke pulled her legs to her chest as she looked down at their reflection in the water.

"You are my home, Neteyam."

She answered, leaning her head against his shoulder, watching as their reflection rippled with the water.

"Are we safe here?"

She whispered to him and Neteyam couldn't answer that. He, himself, didn't know the answer to that.

"As long as we have each other. We are."

Sighing as she watched her twin storm over to where Lo'ak and Kiri were getting picked on, she followed behind hissing at them.

"From now on, I'm going to need you to respect my sister."

Neteyam said as they all walked away. Inhaling sharply at the mention of, 'Freaks' she turned storming over to them ignoring Neteyam's calls.

"Got something you want to say?"

She hissed out, shoving Ao'nung back, and before he could say anything to her, she was pulled behind Lo'ak. As soon as she blinked, things quickly escalated.

"Are you serious?"

She whispered to herself before feeling someone tug on her tail. Groaning out and quickly turning to shove them, Netyem came into her line of vision and quickly punched him.

"Back off."

He growled out, as he continued fighting the ones that came towards him. Hearing the cry of pain, she looked down as her brother and Ao'nung were both being dragged. Rolling her eyes, she shoved the two off of Lo'ak, punching one and kicking the other.

"Fucking annoying."

She muttered, yelping as she found herself now on the ground and a grinning Ao'nung above her. Hissing she looked over seeing Lo'ak now fighting with Rotxo.

"Try me fishy."

She gritted out to him, getting up quickly and shoving him back. Feeling herself being pulled away, she tried to kick out of the grip she was in. Looking up she noticed some randoms were holding her and Ao'nung back.

Being carried to her Marui, she tried to escape his grasp and continue her fight, she groaned as she was roughly placed on the floor.

"Seriously? A fight?"

Internally groaning at the sound of her father, she grabbed Neteyam's hand as he offered to help her up. Spacing out, not even bothering to listen to the lecture, she quickly snapped out of it as she heard the word apologize.

"I'm not apologizing to someone who harassed Kiri."

She told her father who gave her one look, and she was already out of the Marui heading for the Chief's son. As she and Lo'ak found him, she snorted at Lo'ak's apology.

"And you?"

He asked, and Neyke stared at him uninterested and rolled her eyes muttering curses under her breath.

"I am sorry I let my brothers fuck up your face. I am sorry for you losing the fight."

She said sarcastically and Lo'ak coughed to quickly cover up his laugh.

As Ao'nung held onto Neyke's thigh as the two rode on his Ilu to escape the Sky people, she kept her arms tightly secured around his waist. Feeling a sharp pain go through her chest, she winced and gripped her chest in pain.

Ao'nung noticed and quickly made his Ilu surface, as he turned to look at her in worry. Though they didn't get along, he would protect his people, and whether or not he liked it, she was now one.

"What's wrong?"

He hurriedly asked and Neyke's chest tightened as it grew hard for her to breath. Looking up at him in genuine horror, he realized she had stopped breathing. Placing his hand on her stomach, trying to help her focus on breathing, she let a tear slip out of her eye.

"Ao'nung.."

She whispered as her body fell limp, almost falling into the water. Ao'nung quickly acted on reflexives and caught her, as he noticed the Sky people getting closer. Moving her to the front, he used one hand to hold onto her, as he guided his Ilu to dive.

"Dad!"

Lo'ak yelled as Jake landed on the rock they were on, as Neteyam was gasping for breath in pain. Jake quickly put his hands on the wound, adding pressure as he lifted him noticing an exit wound. Cursing to himself he looked down at his son in worry.

"I want to go home."

He whispered out in between breaths, as he breathed his final breath at that moment. He didn't mean the Forest, he meant his sister. He wanted to be with Neyke in his last moments.

As they all made it back to Awa'atlu, Neytiri and Jake rushed into their Marui after they heard the news of their daughter. She hadn't woke up after passing out in Ao'nung's arms.

"My baby.."

Neytiri cried out, as she saw how lifeless her daughter looked. She already lost one, she couldn't lose another. Holding her hand and cupping her cheek, Neytiri cried as she moved onto the bed, letting Neyke lay against her.

Jake could hardly look at the sight, his heartbreaking again for the second time. This time, they made sure none of the other siblings were around, as they watched their daughter take short breaths.

"Wake up. It's mom."

Neytiri pleaded as she whispered prayers to Eywa to keep her. To at least let her keep one of her eldest children. Jake moved closer to them and held Neytiri, resting his hand on Neytiri's that held onto Neyke's.

Seeing a small smile on Neyke's face, Neytiri watched her in hope, as she opened her eyes, the yellow hue was gone. All that was there was white. Her sun was gone, taking the yellow with him. Now all she had left was the stars.

"I'm home."

She whispered as she saw Neteyam reaching out to her, and she smiled brightly at him clasping her hand with his as he ran into the sun.

Neytiri screamed out as she realized her daughter passed. Jake held onto Neytiri, holding back the tears that were threatening to escape. Tuk, Lo'ak, and Kiri all heard their mothers cry with grief. All three collapsed, knowing they lost their two elder siblings.

Bringing their bodies down to the bottom of the ocean, Neytiri and Jake placed them beside one another, as Eywa welcomed their bodies, taking them home with her, safely and peacefully.

Jake looked up at Neytiri who was wearing Neteyam's necklace and Neyke's feather earring.

Lo'ak looked down, his tears becoming one with the water as his body shook with each sob he let out.

"I think I'll miss you forever."

He whispered, repeating what Neteyam and Neyke would say to each other after they would leave the others side.

The Bus Song by Jay Som - Bit of a stretch but this was another song i used in a project in school, specifically my capstone, so while i STRONGLY associate it with that entire project, I also associate it with my friend group from that time. All of us live in different states now but we still talk and one of them is coming to crash on my couch this weekend and then I’m going on a trip with 2 of them for a bachelorette party and AUGH! I’ve fallen so in love with this band over the past few months and I can’t quite explain how the lyrics “I don’t know what’s got it’s teeth in me, but I’m about to bite back in anger” made me feel the first time i heard them but I FELT them.

Electra Heart by MARINA (at the time Marina And The Diamonds)

'Changed my brain chemistry' as the kids say these days. The combo of the There's Something Dangerous About The Boredom Of Teenage Girls vibes with pop really got me. I first listened to it during what was probably the high point (low point?) of my (then undiagnosed) depression. Teen Idle, Valley Of The Dolls, and Primadonna were on constant repeat, make of that what you will. Special mention to Bubblegum Bitch because of course. This album was/is undoubtedly my Joker and I truly do think it, in part, made me who I am today. Shout out to the time I wanted a heart beauty mark tattoo to match the Electra Heart heart beauty mark.

Born To Die by Lana Del Rey

If you were an afab teen when this came out you almost definitely listened to this album, doubly so if you were mentally ill, tripley (is that a word?) so if you were into old Hollywood, and quadraply (not sure if that's a word either) so if you proclaimed older men were your type. I was all four, so, naturally, Lana became my saviour. Off To The Races, Diet Mountain Dew, and National Anthem were songs I desperately wanted to live in, for better or worse, and I yearned to be as cool and apathetic and desired as the girls in the songs. Video Games didn't hit as hard for me at first, but i would grow to love that one, too, same with Summertime Sadness. And, perhaps predictably, Lolita wormed its way into my psyche almost immediately. The fact that this album and Electra Heart came into my life around the same time really did a number on me.

Cry Baby by Melanie Martinez

Yeah, yeah, we get it. You were deeply mentally ill as a teen and sought escapism via pop music with Problematic Themes.

Sue me. At the time, I hadn't heard anyone who sounded like Melanie, so I was intrigued and fell down the rabbit hole. Pity Party hit me the hardest as I found it difficult to socialise with my peers, and still do (thanks late diagnosed autism), so this one felt Deeply Personal. Tag, You’re It and Milk And Cookies are also favourites due to the storytelling and atmosphere. Carousel also deserves a special mention for the same reasons, but I feel the other two do it just a bit better.

Lemonade by Beyonce

Look, we all remember where we were when this dropped. I especially remember how bad I felt for her, hearing the pain Jay Z put her through (which is why I find it insane she took him back, but that's neither here nor there). Hold Up remains incredible, from the instruments to the video to the dress (I need it in my life), and the spoken word at the beginning, but if I had to choose a favourite track, it's probably Daddy Lessons. Afab persons with complicated relationships with their fathers rise up. Love Drought and Freedom are both tied for a very close second. And of course, Sorry deserves a mention purely for the level of anger in it. Oh, to have been a fly on the wall when Jay first heard this album.

the party & the after party i dont even have to think about this. theres no competition. if i had to pick a single fav song it would be this. its so!!??? the beach house sample?? i fall to my knees and sob every time i listen to it. the second half makes me froth at the mouth. his vocals on this song are the most pleasant thing i've ever heard. i could sing this word for word backwards in my sleep i love it. so. much. sex to my ears. no one listens to this song the way i do

i had to use my brain about this because hmm. im thinking of songs with features and so the in your eyes remix w doja cat. its better than the solo version on the album their voices go together reallly nice and i liked dojas verse. i played it sosososo much when it came out. lyrics are so heartbreak sad whatever but instrumentally its a fun song. the mv was good too

love songs, all the way! gotta have some pep in your step, and I find that listening to sad music just sorta slows me down. tho I won't deny summertime sadness has a special spot in my heart.

ooh, hard call. i heard someone say once that the difference between comedy and tragedy is just perspective, but as a lit student I'm not sure I can entirely agree? I don't think I'd want either, but I can accept it as a comedy for now.

Something Wicked by Starset - i think i ascended the first time i heard this. the way it builds up, dustin's voice and the way he sings "the crucifix in my hand's a lie cause nothing ever kills you" omfg, this is still my fav song off horizons although that makes my mental state questionable lmao

Starlight by Starset - one of the most beautiful love songs i know, the thought of soulmates being connected by stardust, universes apart, ughh it's just so beautiful. breaking my own rules for this, i can't pick just one starset song for this, I'm already sad that I'm leaving solstice out... wait you know what, fuck it why should i follow rules i made up myself
