My friend finished NDRV3, I can gradually start posting fanarts from the past few months - mostly of this kind-hearted amalgamation of virtues and maladaptations :D - without worrying I'd spoil stuff for her >:3

So here's one, with a "bouquet" of flower/leaf mimicking mantises. Species are listed under the cut~

I mentioned this on twitter a while ago, but after a year of emotional and artistic slump, I've somehow got into fanarting - and I'm recharging via it, before slowly returning to my own projects - I'm still a bit baffled how abruptly this fixation hit me, but it's cool to be able to draw again. Guess V3 did things.

Devil's flower mantis - Idolomantis diabolica

Cryptic mantis - Sibylla pretiosa

Dead leaf mantis - Deroplatys truncata

Indian flower mantis - Creobroter pictipennis

Horned (?) mantis - Empusa fasciata

Ghost mantis - Phyllocrania paradoxa

Banded flower mantis - Theopropus elegans

Giant Asian shield mantis - Rhombodera basalis

Malaysian orchid mantis nymph - Hymenopus coronatus

...and two Spiny flower mantises, one mature and one L6-7 nymph - Pseudocreobotra wahlbergii

...I take no responsibility for any flying furniture or otherwordly portals opening due to reading this list :D There can be some innacuracies ofc, I’m not an entomologist, I only tried to research to the best of my abilities, but there was... A LOT of it required.

And apparently, one should NOT keep mantises together like this, as they’re cannibalstic and temperamental 8D’’‘ But I call licentia poetica on this. I’m sure Gonta’s keeping them under control with his disney princess powers of animal speech... or just fed them properly. Yes... let’s stick to that.
