ATLA: the Musical

I’m not sure how many people on here follow the Avatar fandom on other social media platforms, so I want to share some cool stuff I found on Youtube.  

There are two artists who have been creating original songs for Avatar - Reinaeiry and Katherine Lynn-Rose - that I’ve been listening to non-stop. 

Outmatched by Reinaeiry is basically Azula’s villain song. It takes place after Zuko joins the Gaang. It’s amazing, my favorite out of all of these. I mean, look at these lyrics:

You were exiled and a traitor I'm a soon-to-be-dictator And I think that we can both agree You look better in an apron serving tea... 

One More Moment by Reinaeiry is Ursa’s lullaby, which she sings as she’s leaving. I almost cried listening to it for the first time yesterday. Favorite lyrics:

One more second/One more kiss You are loved/ Remember this                                                                                           

In the Clouds  by Katherine Lynn-Rose takes place at the beginning of the show when Aang is flying with Sokka and Katara. According to the author’s description: “Despite ignoring his responsibilities as the Avatar, Aang is haunted by this burden. Throughout the song, Aang repeats to himself that life is still fun even though he knows he has to save the world.” It’s really sweet and a little sad.

Fight Like a Girl is the scene where Sokka confronts Suki and the Kyoshi Warriors in Book 1 Episode 4. In other words, Suki being a badass (but musically) for 3 minutes.

anyway outmatched by reinaeiry has big clg! denki vibes and original azula songs in general give me denki energy 

the tragedy of azulas character just really matches denki’s, i suppose
