I'm almost certain I don't want to do the Blue Lagoon during my Iceland trip but the tours I looked at really push it on you and I checked their website and this is so fucking hysterical -

I‘ve been to iceland twice & the last time I went (like… 5-7 years ago) the blue lagoon was a pretty big let down. Its basically like any other public bath, except it has a fancier restaurant, expencive spa supplies shop & you might get a bathrobe for the stay. ( It is also definitely not a ‚swimming‘ pool). At least I don‘t remember too many screaming little children, but there were a few

The other time was when I was a literal child, so idk how much of the ‚way cooler back then‘ is just bc of that, but i remember it being far less commerical, way fewer people & still having a really cool ‚blue lagoon drink‘ (both boozy & not). So in comparison, the blue lagoon doesn’t feel quite that special today. The ‚otherworldly body of water‘ is mostly marketing.

I did visit the secret lagoon on the second trip & it was pretty cool (& imo better).
