Long ago, when Witches still traveled the world, there was a hermit crab with a single wish: to love and perform with the princess of a nearby kingdom. Her voice enchanted him so, and when she sang he’d crawl upon the highest boulder just to hear. One day, he overheard she was to be wed to a prince with fiery red hair. Jealousy overtook him, and in that envy he sought out the magic of a Witch who lived in a nearby cove.

“Please, grant me my wish!” The creature begged. “Turn me human so I can marry the princess. This grotesque form would never win her heart!”

“Little crab, are you sure you know what you’re doing?” The witch asked. “There is a spell I can use, but it comes at a dangerous cost. And only fools believe they can win someone over with nothing but a few meager attempts.”

Then it is a fool I must be!” He proudly stated. “Here, take my shell as proof of my effort.”

The witch sighed, but could not give up a trade. She soon crafted the spell and a peculiar golden knife.

“I can turn you human, but only for 3 weeks lest you die. In case all fails, take this dagger and rob the princess of her heart.”

“How horrible!” He exclaimed. “Why would I do such a thing!?”

“Worry not, little hermit crab, this dagger does not kill, but merely takes the core of a mortal soul. It is this, the soul’s love and emotion, that I need to turn you back.” He thanked the witch and drank the potion in a hurry.

Despite his skin feeling like a shell half his size and his hands stabbed by a hundred needles, he continued his way to the castle. With his newly ravishing human looks, and elegant rhythm as he played the violin, the hermit crab charmed many of the kingdom’s residents.

And yet, the princess was not one of them.

No matter how long he played, nor the celebrations he attended, she never looked the small crab’s way. Even when he created a tune just for her, she thanked him and sent him away. Yet, even as his hands felt like bleeding every time he played, he continued on.

But when the 3 weeks came and went, and the hermit crab was asked to perform at the wedding, only then did he finally feel regret.

So on the night before the ceremony, he shuffled back to the cove, dagger in hand. While the pain and despair swallowed him whole, the witch merely glared.

“See? Only fools make such wishes, and they always come to regret it.” She scoffed. “Now hurry and bring me that heart before it’s too late.”

The crab bit his lip, tears running down his face.

“I don’t want to die, yet I don’t want to transform back into such a hideous thing. But most of all, I don’t want to feel any of this pain anymore.”

The creature took the dagger and thrust it into his own chest, carving out his heart and presenting it to the now-horrified witch.

“So please. Take my heart, I don’t need it anyways.”

17. Physical Description. Keres has short, silvery hair that sits feathered, or otherwise ‘elegantly disheveled’. It has a dull lilac hue to it in certain lights and is well maintained, styled using lightweight products. His eyes, narrow and hooded, are pinkish red, or magenta, framed by short, dark silver eyelashes and he sees right through you. He stands at a tall 6'4" and has a seemingly stiff posture, with broad shoulders and firm musculature, angular dorito man (and a little bony). His skin is somewhat warm for ghostly pale, belying the truth of his vampiric pedigree, and while it appears otherwise unblemished, there are a number of lasting silver burns on his arms and back - all received when the heir of night was captured at war, for he was captured too. Pale red-violet in color, ashen scars all. He tends to wear modern elegant clothing, his wardrobe entirely custom, in shades of black, red, and gray, and in a way that makes him seem…almost human.

He doesn’t keep much on him but his credit card, cellphone, and catalyst - a wand carved from ancient dragon glass, obsidian black with rivers of blood and gold winding around its surface, glowing faintly when used. 14. He has two: Acts as director of Morteatum International Private Security, which puts him in charge of security for all Red Hand vampires ; But, he also works in tandem with Cedric Montgomery in his rebellion against the very same Red Hand, using information gleaned from ever-constant surveillance to organize hits on specific targets at just the right time, allow room for non-Sanguinarian parties to gain power, and ultimately eliminate the Red Hard altogether (big ask). 15. There is nothing this man wouldn’t do to collapse the Red Hand and put an end to it forever, divesting himself of his emotions and compassion in an effort to bring his plans to fruition. He is uniquely motivated, spiteful and cruel in his deliverance, dishing out every bit of what he’s given - unafraid of getting his hands dirty, of doing his own dirty work, entirely resolved to serve Cedric as the sword he uses to strike down evil at its rotten core. Dramatic, quite, but true nonetheless, another victim of self-abandonment due to express purpose and deeply held desires for change, for personal revenge. He is cool and calculating, always has a plan and utmost faith that it’ll work if he stays his course, slinking through shadows, manipulating other vampires, blackmailing them and utterly ruining their lives if not outright killing them. He can be harsh and unfriendly, sarcastic and aloof, even occasionally self-righteous. He knows he’s a villain, even if he’s on the ‘good side’ - but there are no good men in war, only varying degrees of bad men and death. Bitter and angry about what the Red Hand have done to him, to Vayn, Cedric, Claire, and other vampires, itching to at last deal retribution. He has survived much and continues to, conquering deceit, lust, power, and all else vampires covet, to use as a bludgeon against them all. Focused, determined, capable of seeing it all through to the end, accepting the loneliness of his position and purpose in undeath.

⸻Background Information. // Past to Present.

    Keres was born around the same time as the Heir to the Throne of Night, Cedric Montgomery, and so the pair - whose families were closely allied - were raised alongside each other as nobles, as friends. Hand-picked aised, under a miles-long list of expectations and the rigid Principles of vampire society, and chosen to follow in his father's footsteps. Plucked from his mother's unholy womb, and groomed for a royally militant life - a knight without the title, but a believer in in Sanguinach all the same.

But it was in his fledgling age that he saw the reason in the Red Hand's - namely, the Morteatums' - philosophy, understanding the inherent need to protect their own from other nightfolk, from humans. Safety in an ivory tower, on Night's Sacred Ground, when all the world around them loathed and misunderstood them. Often were they hunted, not only by humans but by werewolves, and so - naturally, vampires, Sanguinarian or not, had to find a way to survive. They banded together and unified under the Nightfather's banner, and changed, vying for power and control by any means necessary in an effort to prop themselves up with tools, magical affinities, and livestock.

Trouble was, Keres didn't know just how far the Red Hand was willing to go, nor the breadth of the depravity of the families in its ranks, including his own. He believed his parents, at first, after the raiding parties, when so many of them would return in shrouds. Seeing enslavement as righteous consequence to opposing the Red Hand, war and death as holy, indoctrinated from the moment he was born. He didn't see the truth, even as it flew before his very eyes, fighting these wars as a boy, accustomed to the battlefield when he first learned to properly feed. He was trained explicitly to kill, and any who opposed the Red Hand.

When he came of age, he was treated to a royal orgy and sent once mor into battle alonside Cedric, but it was in this petty war between the Myerscoughs and the Montgomerys over who retained the right to the Feywild, that the pair had been captured - caught sleeping in shallow graves when dawn came, and tortured for weeks on end with silver, exposure to sunlight, isolation, and starvation, paraded around in half-shaded gibbets as Myerscough thralls did their masters' dirty work. He had only Cedric's screams to keep him company, and there were none who would come to save them.

It was during this conflict that Keres devised a plan to escape and rescue Cedric. Weakened by his ordeal, yet still he pushed himself, scrambled for even the smallest hint of malleable energy with which to trade faces with one of his torturers and sow just enough doubt. A pinch of hypnotism, a hint of convincing alteration, acting, and he was quickly released, the one replacing him in silver chains. If it worked once...surely it would work twice, and it did, against the thralls. Once he located and freed Cedric, there was something different about him. Not vengeful, but hollow, yet in the end, when they'd recovered just enough of their energy, feeding on the corpses of dead thralls, they slaughtered half the Myerscough clan and broke their house, proving the Montgomerys the victors - thus rightful owners of the Feywild they sought to conquer. Cedric's twin, Claire, took care of the rest, and carried her brother home.

In the aftermath, Cedric was treated like a defective tool, propped up only as Godwin Montgomery's heir as planned and his truest disappointment simultaneously. What happened to Cedric was swept under the rug and hidden away so as to maintain the King's image, and such had inflamed his disillusionment with the Red Hand, his loyalty to his friend outweighing all else. Bitterness and disgust were born within him, for he could not suffer the callousness and disregard of a lord he once respected, the ignored realities of vampiric depravity. And he carefully considered then the far-reaching consequences of the actions of immortal men, a Feywild village invaded and its people slaughtered or taken to be indignified as livestock. And he knew, he knew what was done to them, for it had been done to him, to Cedric. Only, they wouldn't have the opportunity to escape.

Soon after the confrontation with Godwin, Cedric, despite his injuries, paid a visit to Keres. Sickened by the cruelty of vampires, Cedric unloaded his concerns and frustrations, but insodoing revealed a plan - one that would require patience, secrecy, and strength of will. Over the course of the next few centuries, they were to lie. Publically align themselves in perfect harmony with the Red Hand's desire for supreme leadership over nightfolk, fey, and humans - all the while secretly organizing a rebel force to rival the Red Hand's military force, and the Sanguinarian clerics, positioning themselves strategically until the time was right. This meant that, on occasion, killings would be necessary and vital to maintain their mounting rebellion, and that using the petty hatred of the remnants of the Myerscoughs to their advantage would be, too. Keres agreed.

I think that his biggest "man, I wish this was my life" fantasy is being a traveling artist. going all over the continent, able to make a living off his art, seeing all the sights and exploring different cultures and having a home to come back to. also, having a cat. or several. he's not picky.

technically speaking, Tysinno's never actually been in a romantic relationship prior to Ayla. but he and Red had a mutual crush on each other in the Circle back as teenagers, which was never acted on. they didn't want to ruin their friendship, for one, and Tysinno just... wasn't ready for a relationship, yet. he left the Circle because he was terrified of something happening to another group of people he cared about, and telling Red that he had feelings for him just wasn't something he was ready for then. obviously that ship has sailed by the time SHOH rolls around, but I'd say that's the worst (and only) thing so far?

that, or the mutual crush on Zori when they were kids. poor Zori.

18. Biggest insecurity:

I've mentioned already that he thinks he's bad luck for people, and it remains true. it gets better over time, but it's still very much there. he tends to second-guess his decisions, does that count as an insecurity?

more minor ones: his prominent eye bags, and how bad his nails can look if he's been chewing on them. this is why he wears goggles and brings around a pair of gloves, just in case.

healer with a gun! he's no Tallys or Trouble by any means, but his aim isn't half bad. I think he favors magic more often in a fight, though.

Al is pragmatic to things.

So sonic is working undercover for eggman for a reason. He would not instantly thing "Sonic is bad now" he would think of the situation.

He in a race undercover where the reward for winning could be bad if the wrong people win? Then both sides (Sonic and Eggman) grudgingly work togther if means for a better outcome.

Al would then sneak up and in secluded place and ask questions like "soooo, reasons?" And would take time to understand his point of view. And previously worked for Eggman. He could make a good guess his reasons also.

Al gets tailed alot by undercover G.U.N agents. Due to his heightened sensors he finds them easily and without looking he can point them out and then teloport them to him. He dosnt threaten them, he just makes it very clear he knows they are there

(LORE) when 18 he works for gun for 3 years being under controle to make up for being 113. This ends up being good as he puts his own machines and programs into production earning money. Aircrafts, land vehicle, boats, land walkers, robots/drones and weapons

Al is very not romantically and very little sexually interested so these types of moves towards him are returned with "cool anyway look at this new gun I made!" Or stright up "Yeah no don't try later or again. K?" (Gay, Gray-AroAce)((aromantic, demisexual)) he would have to very very very clease to someone to even think about any type of relationship. Al flinches easily to any hand raised to him, and if he's not doing well you can see the fear of God in his eyes for a split second. Funny for someone who can't die from any injuries or thing. (Maybe for a minit for hour if it's bad) he is big scerd baby

Al isn't the type for things about him. He dose have some self hate. In the AU when he gets a home with Tails and Sonic he kept his birthday secrate. 17. Physical Description. Furie’s hair is stark white, thick, silky. More akin to that of a mop than anything else, he does occasionally pin it all out of his eyes, though this is rarer than you might think. His hair is very soft and easy to comb through. His eyes are a soft, pale lilac color. Gentle though very guarded, revealing very little. He has a lean and narrow body type featuring some toning, standing at an odd 5'7". His skin is a pale but neutral tone, unblemished aside from a scar in his left side in the shape of blackwyrm’s jaws, many rows of teeth having bore into his skin, and some old knicks, scrapes, and cuts from less than ideal transformation cycles. There are patches of iridescent scales in various places on his body. He has a tattoo of a spacial summoning circle split between both of his hands in enchanted white ink, allowing him to summon forth a devastating meteor shower. He wears a black and purple modified hakama and a dramatic high-collared sleeveless shirt, forgoing the theatrics of a robe or cape, as well as a shortcloak made of starlight.

He keeps a blackwyrm whistle to call his Bluebird, a knapsack, fragments of a fallen star, a pair of singing stones, a wand made of whitestone, keys to the Night Family estate, a Mauszan scrying glass, a pair of Ordinian & Myrrdinian daggers, various poisons, and a lock of Yule's hair. 14. Cryptic traveling fortune-teller ; An Oracle in the Mauszan clergy, but not just any oracle - Mausza Herself speaks through him, literally, and sends him away on tasks that would surely send a righteous man to the hells... 15. 25. Personality. Furie is bit of a difficult nut to crack, being a reserved and quiet individual with no straightforward or truly personable inclinations. He presents as unreadable as physically possible, hiding himself beneath layer upon layer of carefully interwoven threads of polite neutrality, cool professionalism, and placidity. There’s a quiet determination about him, a hidden and unwavering steadfastness that anchors him to life and heroic pursuits, but just as this, he’s equally as regretful and deems himself unworthy of the atonement he seeks. He blames himself for the accident of his fiance’s death (though this is starting to direct itself toward Mausza) and is ever and constantly searching for a means of redeeming himself. On top of this, he doesn’t feel he has anything of value to say beyond his divination, harboring much resentment toward Mausza, the clergy, and Her worshippers. All anyone wants from him is his service, not to know what he thinks, feels, likes, or dislikes, so he gives it to them and keeps silent about all else (though this is in part due to the trauma of Yule’s death), putting as much distance as he can between himself and others. Generally speaking, he’s understanding and careful, thoughtful and wise, but he’s not above violence or sneaky tricks, lying, manipulation, or other such things to further his own ends - he will always try the non-violent route, though because of Mausza’s favoritism towards him, he’s given special permissions to use force if necessary during his search for the Sanguine Star.

26. Affinity. Spacial, Blackwyrm Soporific, & Necrotic - moderate control, though he possesses the creation root which allows him to source these affinities within himself. 27. Shapeshifting. Innate monthly transformation into a white-violet blackwyrm - may transform outside of this, however, but it can potentially make him sick and runs the risk of a permanent transformation. 28. Utility. Wards, curses, blessings, summoning, - highly skilled. 29. Specialization. Divination, Prophecy, and Vocal Soporifics - highly skilled due in part to both practice and raw talent; The magic flowing through his vocal chords, due to its inherent divinity, runs the risk of permanently damaging them. 30. Zurine Mages’ University - the only active school for mages on the pangea ; Extremely dedicated to quality, well-rounded education and therefore expensive, though they do offer scholarships based on potential ; Open to all magical folk, or those who can afford it ; Generally treated as a sort of haven for them. 31. Beastkin Oracle ; Respected member of the Mauszan clergy, the Euphony of Mausza, working in conjunction with the Fateweavers of the Sightless Eye ; Beastkin (or beastfolk, more commonly) are a type of shapeshifter or were whose human and primary animal forms are permanently apparent in some combination - they are equally as animal as they are ‘human’ in appearance and physiology; all beastfolk in the 2nd Era were oppressed and enslaved. 

⸻Background Information. // Past to Present.

    He was born into the Night family, to a sorcerer and a were-wyrm with dominant genes. As both, he was born possessing a natural affinity for gravitic and necrotic schools of magic, inheriting the spacial abilities of a blackwyrm and the Night’s close relationship with necromancy. From birth, he had many doors open for him, but he chose a religious path early on in an effort to break away from the dark and dour nature of his family (especially his father), though this really only replaced one abusive group of people with another slightly more palatably abusive one.

    But it was there he met his beloved, Yule, a harpy of heron variety who showed him the beauties of hope and faith, pure and kind no matter the hardships she faced. He fell in love with her good-natured charm, adoring her so completely, he proposed. She accepted, of course. Tragically, however, tensions were running high as ever between the Myrrdinians, Wildlings, roving Red Hand vampires from Strigane, civil unrest between beastfolk and non-nightfolk, which coalesced into an all-out skirmish in several nightfolk cities throughout the Myrrdin. At the time, Furie and Yule were vacationing in Frea when a hoard of blackwyrms were unleashed into the town center. Buildings were destroyed, hundreds of people were killed or injured, and he and Yule were separated amid the chaos. He was swept away, caught in a blackwyrm’s jaws and nearly chewed in half; She was overpowered and killed, shredded to pieces. Surviving this without her left a hole inside him that could never be filled.

    Once he recovered from the attack, he dedicated himself to his work as a diviner of Mausza, earning the Starstitcher’s Favor. Insodoing, he was given a special task - informed through communion with her that a Sanguine Star had fallen and must be retrieved before 'bad actors' and 'violent retributors' could get their hands on it, reduce the world as they knew it to ash and sow endless death. He was shown Loux and Sortia’s faces, along with the likes of Elluvius Black, Lilith Morningstar, Cedric & Claire Montgomery, Deadeye, and many others - promised the removal of his pain and grief, the serenity and grace to keep living, the courage and drive to continue. Because of his direct communion with Mausza, he was dubbed Euphony, her voice, among the clergy. This all put a whole new set of pressures and expectations on his shoulders, thrusting him into oracle status and all that comes with it. His position turned into something of a curse, testing his relationship with Mausza as well as his resolve.

    He is used as little more than a service, rather than sought out for genuine inquiries - taken for granted among his apparently graceless and faithless fellows, time and energy abused as both a man and a clerical leader. At this time, however, he has not wavered in his work despite his now shaky beliefs. He searches tirelessly for the star in an effort to please Mausza and achieve his peace, even though it’s costing him much more than he ever thought it would.
