Raised in ballet and singing classes, Roxane chases an early career on the stage until the untimely death of her youngest daughter leads her to pursue a career in medicine again. She becomes a pediatric intensive care nurse, and then nurse practitioner, determined to spare other mothers her pain. Roxane still has an interest in gardening and herbal medicine but it’s strictly a hobby in this verse.

Through Pages & Ink. Reverse AU. Roxane is read out of Inkheart either instead of or after Dustfinger and now must adjust to the modern world while also searching for a way home. Meanwhile, the children suddenly find themselves all alone in a cruel medieval world.

Spared By Fairy Dust. Rosanna Lives AU. Rosanna survives the illness that was meant to take her life after the fairies intervene on her behalf. She then grows up on the farm alongside her sister and brother.

Us & The Dead. Walking Dead AU. Roxane is a singer and the mother of two young girls when the zombie virus begins to spread. With her husband away on business when the outbreak occurred, she believes him dead or otherwise lost to her. Eventually, she meets Lowell Carr ( @mywilliingheart ) and has a son by him whom they name Jehan. Shortly after, her youngest daughter - Rosanna - dies of an illness no one can diagnose or treat. Following the loss, Roxane begins to take an interest in medicine - specializing in herbal medicine to make use of what is still readily available to them.

The Witch In The Woods. High Fantasy AU. After magic saves the life of her youngest daughter, Roxane devotes her life to the craft, mastering it in order to protect her family from the likes of such threats again. Along the way, she meets new friends such as Ulysses ( @deepseawarlock ) and Maverick ( @darkhearthorns ). Eventually, Ulysses begins to mentor Rosanna in harnessing the leftover magic resting inside her.

Inkthief. Inkthief AU. Rosanna is read out of Inkheart along with Dustfinger, but when Capricorn and Basta drag him out of Mo’s house, the infant Rosanna is left behind. Mo instantly takes the child in, raising her alongside his own daughter as sisters, but when Dustfinger returns for her, he can’t seem to let her go.

Welcome To Wonderland. Helheim AU. After Rosanna dies sleeping in her mother’s arm from a sickness that had plagued the child for more than a week, she awakes in a strange place. Frightened at first, she longs to return home, but then she meet Hel ( @helreginn ) and is assured she will see her family soon. Comforted by the promise and the woman’s maternal disposition, Rosanna agrees to wait with her and finds she might even have some fun while she waits.

Some food-themed headcanons (& some canon notes):

Anya loves fruity and/or sour candies. Sour Patch Kids, Sweet Tarts, etc. She doesn’t like the lemon flavored ones though.

Nadia’s favorite food is strawberries.

Callum is severely allergic to oranges. He’s supposed to carry an epi-pen. He doesn’t.

Roxane likes comfort foods like breads, soups, and stews. Brianna especially enjoys meals with meat involved in them. Rosanna has a sweet tooth, especially in modern AUs.

Cardan likes several mortal dishes like pizza, Chinese take-out, and breakfast cereals.

Wolf canonically has a weakness for tomatoes and Winter’s favorite dessert is sour apple petits.

Scarlet’s comfort food is lemon cake. It reminds her of her grandmother.
