"you scared?" he asks, a teasing curl to his smirk. realizing what you've done, you move back farther from him and continue on what you were doing. but then he sneaks his hand around your waist and pulls you in against his chest just as another thunder crashes, "stay here," he mumbles nonchalantly, squeezing your arm and resting his head on your shoulder.

"i-it's okay!" yamaguchi squeezes your arm and tries to lift you up from the floor. a potted plant sits shattered on the ground as you seemingly cry for its "death". you sniffle and let him help you up, "i'm sorry tadashi! i didn't see it and-" he shakes his head and smiles, "it's okay, really it is." he takes your hand and observes it, "did you get hurt?" you try to retract your hand but he doesn't let you, only holding it tighter when you shake your head.

"look at this," he says nudging your back to get your attention. and as soon as he sees you turn around to look at him, he skillfully (and quite dramatically) flips the egg on the pan, lips parted in focus. "congratulations, you can flip eggs on a pan!" you cheer him on, sarcastically and playfully clapping your hands just to spite him. "i'm the best, aren't i?" he smirks, setting the eggs down in a container. "sure, the best." you roll your eyes, taking the container and packing it inside the picnic bag.
