         halfling would be lying through her teeth to say that she’s unused to this, that the sharp chill from the docks curling around her bare ankles ( and what possessed her to think that running trainers –outside of the need for a speedy getaway– was smart in Gotham’s December climate? ) and the potent weight of uncertain danger was something new, something interesting and different—-- but even out of Bon Temps she was not awarded such luxury. hands clutch at the makeshift table between them ( gloveless and bootless wasn’t ideal, but all she can hope is that the worst comes to worst, her fingerprints are enough if there’s nothing else left of her ).

         claret painted bottom lip sucked into her mouth as nervous smile tugs at tense corners of her mouth, an ugly snort causing her head to rock and ponytail bob in the air, ❛ —-ain’t that the truth. ❜ ( if only you knew. )

         halfling considers a peak into the shadows, considers opening her barriers and just testing to see exactly how many onlookers the pair have, but the last thing she needs is a distraction ( thoughts of what’s for dinner, whether so-and-so’s wife and or husband really meant what they asked them to do last night—- etc. etc. etc. ), when at any moment she could find a gun pointed directly at her, or the feel of a cool blade against her scarf covered neck ( that at least she didn’t risk forgetting, and boy does she wish that she couldn’t identify the feeling of that ), so she settles for ( what she hopes, ) fixing @halfdent with an open, warming smile ( or at least as warm as she can get when she’s shivering like a leaf and just praying that she somehow forgoes frostbite ), ❛ —-so uh, Harv was it? what was it you needed me for again? ❜
