v1; ( proceeding the show final episode ) Joel and Ellie, finally finding what seems to be a home during the post apocalypse, Live in Jackson County, Wyoming ( A settlement for survivors ). Joel guardians Ellie while also maintaining the sheep farm for the community.

v2; ( During the show ) Joel reluctantly is escorting Ellie to a Firefly base; treading dangerous land plagued with infected and raiders.

v3; Joel and his partner Tess ( depending on the time, his bother Tommy), survive the best they can as smugglers and mercenaries in the Boston QZ.

v4: ( pre Apocalypse ) Joel is a single father working as a contractor, supporting his teenage daughter and younger brother Tommy.

vdbd; Joel was pulled into the realm of the Fog, by an all powerful Entity. He fought tooth and nail during trials, so much so the Entity grew angry by his success rate. The Entity Pulls in Ellie, to blackmail and torment Joel to be obedient.

As long as he plays the game right, Ellie lives.
