but basically the goal is we have to...catch each other off guard. If one of us gets it usually we get one due. So for example. 🛡Conoce la historia de una de las mujeres más icónicas de la antigüedad, conquistadora de conquistadores: Cleopatra.

Nació en el 69 a.C. en Alejandría, Egipto. Su nombre significa “gloria de su padre”, Fue hija de Ptolomeo XII. Su tutor fue Filóstrato quien le enseñó oratoria, artes y filosofía griega. Cleopatra hablaba varios idiomas, entre ellos el egipcio, que ningún otro gobernante griego había aprendido.

En el 58 a.C. acompañó a su padre al exilio debido a su impopularidad, pero 3 años después volvieron y lucharon una guerra contra su hermana Berenice IV, que fue derrotada gracias a la ayuda del gobernador romano de Siria. Fue durante este tiempo cuando conoció a Marco Antonio.

En el 53 a.C. fue nombrada sucesora junto con su hermano Ptolomeo XIII y un año después fue declarada regente. En el 51 a.C. murió su padre y se convirtió en reina. Tuvo que afrontar la sequía, la hambruna y la deuda de su padre que ascendía a 17.5 millones de dracmas.

Por esas fechas la guerra civil también azotaba Roma. En el 48 a.C. Pompeyo fue derrotado por César en Farsalia y huyó a Egipto, pero fue asesinado por orden de Ptolomeo y su cabeza fue enviada a César para congraciarse con él.

César viajó a Egipto ese año y pidió a Cleopatra y Ptolomeo XIII reconciliarse. El ultimo se negó, pero Cleopatra viajó a ver a César para seducirlo y obtener su apoyo. Ptolomeo XIII, indignado, asedió a César y Cleopatra con 20 000 soldados. El romano solo llevaba consigo 4000 hombres. El asedio se extendió hasta el 47 a.C. hasta que llegaron refuerzos y Ptolomeo fue derrotado. Mientras huía su barco se volcó y él se ahogó.

Por ese entonces es probable que Cleopatra estuviera embarazada de César de quien tuvo a Cesarión.

En el 46 a.C. y el 44 a.C. Cleopatra visitó Roma. Tras el asesinato de César en el 44 a.C. intentó reclamar su herencia para Cesarión, sin embargo, Octavio fue el heredero.

Cleopatra hizo asesinar a su hermano Ptolomeo XIV y nombró a su hijo cogobernante como Ptolomeo XV.

Una nueva guerra civil azotó Roma entre Antonio y Octavio contra los asesinos de César. Tras la victotia Antonio dominaba la parte oriental de Roma y en el 41 a.C. llamó a Cleopatra para conocerla y entablaron una relación. Antonio le dio territorios y ella lo apoyó militarmente contra Partia y Armenia.

En el 40 a.C. Cleopatra dio a luz a dos mellizos hijos de Antonio y tuvo uno más en el 36 a.C. En el 32 a.C. Antonio y Cleopatra se casaron después del divorcio del primero con Octavia, hermana de Octavio. Los repartos de tierras entre sus hijos aunado al divorcio, provocaron la Cuarta Guerra Civil romanaentre Octavio y Antonio.

En el 31 a.C. la flota de Cleopatra y Antonio fue derrotada en Accio y un año después las tropas de Octavio invadieron Egipto y derrotaron a Antonio. Tras esto, el general se suicidó. Cleopatra acorralada, optó también por el suicidio. Según la leyenda se dejó morder por una áspid.

Que decir de Cleopatra: un incono. Su legado permanece en numerosas obras de arte, teatro, cine, marcas comerciales, poemas, etc.

And I am listening.

I am not afraid of dying. Has been too ever present in my life.
