i have A LOT of issues with the way that hotd portrays rhaenyra, but something that really grinds my gears is the fact that they made jace, luke, and joffrey SO VERY OBVIOUSLY not laenor’s children.  in the books, the boys look similar enough to rhaenys (who has her mother’s baratheon looks with dark hair) to vaguely pass as laenor’s kids, so it isn’t so flagrantly obvious.  the fact that they look NOTHING like laenor or rhaenys in hotd makes rhaenyra look way worse than it should because it really does seem like she’s flaunting her lies in the face of the royal court and thinking that they are stupid by continuously insisting her sons aren’t bastards when, in reality, it wasn’t like that AT ALL.
