Happy April Fools Day
*several of Books pages have been greased up for the Sanderson Sisters*

Sarah was clearly far more amused by this prank than her sisters. While she giggled at the whimsical bit of mischief and at their fumbling through the slick pages, Mary simply looked exasperated. “Who would possibly do such a thing?” she wondered. “Or perhaps a more pressing question would be, who could do such a thing? What mortal would be capable of such magic?”
“I do not know!” Winifred screeched, smacking Sarah lightly in the gut to shut her up. “But when I find out, there shall be hell to pay! I shall curse them in all the worst ways they can imagine!”
“Ohhhh,” Sarah groaned, wincing as she recovered from the blow, “but they must be powerful, Winnie. Perhaps ‘tis better to make them an ally than an enemy!”
“Silence! They made themselves my enemy when they tampered with my precious Book! Now, they shall feel my wrath!”

Sarah Sanderson was a woman who vivaciously loved life. It was much better than the alternative, of course, but there was more to it than that. Each time she’d been brought back with her sisters, there always seemed to be more of the world to explore, more new things to try and to learn. Unlike practical Mary and cynical Winifred, Sarah saw and felt magic in the smallest and simplest of things, and it fascinated her endlessly.
This most recent jolt back to life was no different, and as her sisters set about coming up with a new scheme, Sarah was far too busy drinking everything in. It was as she was gazing wide-eyed at their surroundings, grinning ear to ear, that she spotted a shock of red hair peaking out from behind some crates. “Hello there!” she chirped happily, bouncing over to the hiding spot. “Didst thou summon us? Come out and play!”

Would you rather get to trick or treat?
{all muses}
Tumblr media
“I’d prefer to treat someone if I have the chance, but I do have a bit of a trickster side, if I’m honest. I guess it really just depends on the situation, mate.” - Jack
Tumblr media
“I don’t understand the question. Why would I want to trick anyone? What does it mean to treat someone? Please explain.” - Adam
Tumblr media
“I’m a scientist. I have no reason to trick anyone. That being said, I am also not entirely inclined to gift any sort of treat to someone I don’t know, simply because I wouldn’t know what to get them.” - Victor
Tumblr media
“Darling, I am a treat.” - Dorian
Tumblr media
“I’m not much of a trickster, really. Much rather treat someone with kindness than try to deceive or poke fun at someone.” - Lawrence
Tumblr media
“Why can’t I do both?” - Vlad
Tumblr media
“What sort of witches might we be if we didn’t engage in trickery?” - The Sanderson Sisters
Tumblr media
“Who knows? I’m a generous guy, but I’m not above pulling a few lighthearted pranks, especially around this time of year. Gotta have a sense of humor, y’know?” - Henry

The honest answer was ‘No,’ but Sarah had grown used to things not making much sense. She lived and died and lived again in a world where magic existed, and where, more distressingly to her, people rarely said what they truly meant or explained themselves coherently. She had never really been good at reading between the lines, so to speak.
“Ooh, thou must be very clever to be able to speak in riddles,” she complimented, hiding her frustration with her own lack of understanding behind her usual friendly and aloof demeanor. “Just like the Master! Do tell me another! I enjoy them so, even if I cannot solve them. Thy way with words is asto-…astor-…astro-…” she paused for a moment, chewing on her bottom lip as she wracked her brain for one of the big words that Winifred was fond of using. Astronomy? No, that had to do with the stars. Astonishing? Maybe. No! It was astounding! “Astounding!” she finally finished, a big victorious smile on her face. “Words are hard, but thou and Winnie and Master all make them seem easy.”
Another question popped into her head, and was out of her mouth before she could stop it. “Child, what does ‘pyrotechnic’ mean?”
