Eclipse Poem

The sky got darker

My vision faded

The air got colder

My wish for days end

A faded stone blue

A scent of rain in the air

People gather near and far

Too bad it doesn't happen every year

Fog enveloped the atmosphere

As the ring of light shone above

The sight was beautiful, majestic even

One of the only things I could love

As the light came back,

So did reality

And I realized

Things would never be

The same as when they were

Earlier today

Nothing is the same now

Ever since the moon had crowned

Upon the sun stayed

For three minutes that fateful day

Nothing will happen like before

As I wish and desire and yearn for more

Of that fateful day, the totality of the eclipse

That one time that the moon gave the sun a kiss.
