thinking about knight!characters after seeing this post... would be so interesting to brainstorm about diff scenarios again like my vampire post (knightly rambling utc!)

knight!character who's under captain!reader's wing could go multiple ways...

envious of how their captain is constantly dragged away with their frivolous ruler, wasting their captain's time when you could be training the knights stationed under your jurisdiction. they almost pop a blood vessel when they see their captain leaving the ruler's room in the morning, looking nothing but disheveled... can you really blame them when their mind runs wild alternatively, knight!character competing with another knight to see who gets to be chosen as your protege or personal apprentice or whatever

OR knight!character with a knight!reader who's from a rivaling region

there's barely hidden conflict between the 2 regions, simmering tension whenever the leaders meet during negotiations/gatherings/galas. however, knight!character can't help but let their eyes stray from the personnel they're supposed to be protecting when you're standing right there, so close just beyond the other end of the table. maybe you never give them, a mere knight from an opposing region, the time of day, opting to keep your eyes forward and pinned on who you're guarding. or perhaps you're nothing but cordial to them, even chatting and joking around with them whenever the two of you have time to spare in your schedules. then suddenly, they stop seeing you all together whenever the two rulers meet.. another knight taking the spot where you always, unfailing stand guard at.

something something trying to pervert the devotion to the crown to devotion to you/to the character... something something underlying sexual tension during spars and swordfights. definitely not thinking of a sword polishing scene..... orz..
