okay so like u draw and stuff right and i was wondering if i could ask u how to do like rendering 🙁 and how it works?! #8#) 1

I'VE never actually seen someone explain it to me properly because the most i got was "just color" 💔 AND WATCHING SPEEDPAINTS R NOT HELPING ME UNDERSTAND WHAT TO DO 😭😭 so i thought i could ask u how to do it 😞 IF ITS OKAY!!!

AHH RENDERING :D tbh I dont do much rendering in my drawings bc I quite like the rather messy appearance but I used to do it a lot back then so ill try to explain it as best as I can :'

rendering is essentially just cleaning up the drawing, adding details you forgot to add, etc etc. while the "just color" is, to some extent, true, it's rlly not that simple.

okay so, you have your un-rendered drawing, right? most of the time, people add a layer above all of the layers and clean up on that layer. some people would duplicate all of the layers and merge those duplicated layers into one so they could clean up there, and some less-scared artists would just merge all of the layers w/o any back-up layers in case they mess up so there's literally a BUNCH of ways to render.

err yeah, it's basically just cleaning up the drawing and mostly getting rid of the lineart. kinda like this:

but honestly, if I can make pretty stuff w/o rendering much at all, it's very optional WAHHJKSG
