Well, folks. I can't believe I'm doing this, but for the love of god I need to spill the BEANS.

Autistic baby regressor Metal Sonic headcanons for you folks. This is just for my version of the character, so take this as you will. :]

- As mentioned above, Metal is a baby regressor. Tends to mostly go to around 1 - 3 years old, however he'll occassionally go as low as a few months old and as high up to around 4 years old.

- Metal's regression for the most part is involuntary. It also stems from the fact that Metal never really got a childhood of his own. From day 1, he had responsibilities to go after. Mostly with dealing with Sonic and whatnot. So he never really got a chance to try a childhood out.

- Unfortunately, thanks to his lack of trust in most people, he only really regresses around Orbot and Cubot. He doesn't trust Eggman with knowing that he regresses as he worries that if he ever did see them like this? He would deem them as defective, scrap them in an instant just to replace him with a far superior model, or maybe even factory reset them.

- The same can be said for his stims. Hand flapping, rocking, vocal stims? All of them he also hides away from most folks as he also worries that if he stimmed around them? His public reputation of being a terrifying and unstoppable killing machine would be permanently ruined. But Orbot and Cubot make sure to keep Metal's regression as private as possible ( with Orbot having to stop Cubot from spilling the beans. When Metal's big? He means buisness when he wants his little side to stay a secret! ) so that he can stim freely around the two without feeling TOO frustrated at himself over it.

- Since Metal doesn't have a mouth but secretly loves pacifiers? Orbot managed to come up with a solution for the issue. He just took off the rubber bit off of one and replaced it with a small magnet. So now it sticks to Metal perfectly AND can help him slip if needed.

- Metal hides ALOT about his " softer " side towards people. And he's pretty good at it as well since he's non-verbal. But one of his secrets? He LOVES soft items. Stuffies, onesies, and especially blankets. To the point where Metal will sort of make a nest out of the blankets he has. Even outside of being little.

- Speaking of stuffies, Metal actually has one! A little dark blue bunny with silver stars in their ears. Their name? Reaper. Because Metal had received him from someone during the Hallowe'en season. And it was also modified to have crinkly ears as well as a jingle rattle so that Metal could fidget and stim with them. And when they're little? They never let them out of their sight.

- If Metal looses Reaper? All hell breaks loose. They'll look EVERYWHERE for him while on the verge and sometimes during a panic attack just to find him. Sure, they see Reaper as a comfort item and only that, but if Reaper gets a tear? They're convinced that somebody tried to kill them. And they're also very attached to them.

- Metal can only wear onesies with hoods on them. Why? Simple. Because when he's little? He tends to get alot more embarrassed pretty easily. So he tends to cover his eyes and face with the hood. So he will only wear onesies if 1, they have a hood built in, or 2, they come with a jacket that has a hood.

- Metal adores nicknames and pet names. His personal favorites being Naughty Baby/Critter, Cutie, Sweetheart/pea, Baby Blue(berry), Pup, Baby/Little Pup, as well as Little Guy. Every time, without fail, he gets all embarrassed from the nicknames. Because he absolutely loves them. He just refuses to admit it.

- Sometimes Metal has to wear some pink mittens when he's smaller, as sometimes if he's stressed out? He has a few harmful stims that he's done in the past. And he'll often forget to use his " gentle " or " quiet " hands, so the mitts are pretty useful.

we're listening to that one unused song for shadow the hedgehog “who I am”, and jolt (on the left, from that other system we mention) is like fuck yeah such a cool rock song wooo!!!!! meanwhile my poor hubby is getting emotional + angry at the same time because the song is literally about him and about who he is and shit,, you just have to listen to it. but yeah,, no idea if anyone understands what I'm trying to tell, but imma share regardless bc it's funny to see the difference between how system members react to certain things, depending on if it's part of their source.. jolt & shadow listening to the same song & getting wildly different reactions is so so interesting.
